MOP's posts should be pinned (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
I am a big fan of Ministry of Pain's RB and WR weekly match up publishing. I have been coming here to the sharkpool every Friday for 3 years just to read on that topic. He is my only trusted adviser when it comes to player analysis. His game projections on total score is also very helpful for my gambling needs. I am not sure if this has been discussed before, but please consider pinning those threads.

MOP.... Here are my two words for you:

Thank You!

Nothing unique about his threads. I actually find them boring, uninformative, and get a "HEY LOOK AT ME I THINK I'M A FANTASY GURU" vibe from them. He should stop wasting his time.

Maybe if the the search function was better (i.e. let you search words with less than 4 letters like oh, say, RB?) it wouldn't be such a pain trying to find it.

Was that necessary? Even if you really think that way, what's the point of creating animosity here? Whether I agree with MOP or not I still enjoy reading his take on things, along with other views as well. That is never a wasted read. Furthermore, I don't see you putting any effort into similar threads.

You're screwed.

how am I screwed? I am up big because of random shot I took by taking spread for cinci over pit, cleveland over cinci, NO buffalo under. Read his point projections for those games.

That statement would apply to 90% of the posts including yours....If we cut out all those posts, the forum would become rotoworld ...ie "so and so did not practice today"I welcome people's opinions...if you don't like the thread, don't read it....I sift through various threads and make my own decison...often times I am wrong....but at least I have the comfort of knowing I am not the only one that thought that way.....lol...So stop being a moron.....

Yeah, searching function is hard.

Clearly the best solution here is for MOP to get on Twitter/the blogosphere.

:toilet: :hifive: :goodposting: Agree or not, you have a guy bringing it every week and generating thoughtful discussion. I have no idea why you wouldn't appreciate that other than jealousy.

Some bulletin board software allows users to 'sticky' threads of their choosing. I'm not sure if this BB software does or not, but if it did that would be the ideal solution.

For now, will somebody be kind enough to bump the week 7 RB exploit thread. Browsing the forum on an iPhone isn't easy. Thanks in advance.

MOP is the most fun thing to read in this forum.

+

FBG forum searches suck (get more errors than results)

=

Stick the thread! :blackdot:

I've ragged on MOP a little this year (In fun) because of some bad Saints predictions, Never the less I do appreciate the effort he puts forth each week and I do take the time to read his posts. I think they have pretty good value (Saints forecasts aside)

they should put him on staff already.
I actually wish Wheelhouse had never been made staff; his weekly thread was awesome and got a lot discussion. As FBG material, I barely notice it and also don't get the Shark Pool discussion of his stuff.Let's keep MOP off the staff or start putting FBG material in an avenue where we can comment and discuss it.

Your weekly RB threads are so much more valuable and unique. Great job Darko. Wonderful insight! Valuable contribution here! Thanks for making the world so much better! What would we do without you?

Great job of stooping to his level to make a point.

You can. FBG's has it where you can use google to search words that are 3 letters or less.

Hmm... well so it does. I stand corrected (even though this should be possible with the FBG search). Guess I'll have to try it out.

Seems like pretty generic stuff to me. :lmao:
+1, actually it isn't all that good. :goodposting:
Not trying to elevate the the tool factor in here, but the MOP Start Em/Sit Em threads are pretty vanilla.- Great RBs and RBs with good matchups get color coded green.- RBs on bad teams and RBs with bad matchups get coded red. There is very little additional information that the average NFL jumkie doesn't already know... nothing earth-shattering. No real in-depth analysisOn the flipside, I usually do take the 2-3 minutes to scan through the posts. In a way they remind me of the 4 month old FF magazine I still read while taking a dump. Doesn't add any value to my FF season, but beats staring at the bathroom wall.

Agreed. Pretty run of the mill. Hardly cutting edge, but okay to read through. Pretty far from paid content, but I enjoy taking a peek at the matchups. I would say the layout is pretty generic and it's mostly obvious stuff, so I'm not sure why people get so pumped about reading them and defend MOP like he's a war hero. But I hope he continues to do them, since it's better than most other content.
