Two second-year players. Two of the most exciting if not the most exciting players in the NFL.

Jackson gets less opportunities.

Johnson has a chance at making history.

Johnson averages 6.3 a carry and 8.3 a reception and touches the ball 20-25 times, my bad and he only has 10 games with a 30 yd rush or more

This isn't even a contest. Johnson
 Right. Landslide.
I voted Johnson, but it wasn't a landslide for me. If you ask me who make more exciting plays... well then, that's Johnson every time. On the other hand, if I was going to sit down and watch one play knowing nothing other than that the ball would go to one player or the other, well then I'd pick Jackson. It's partly due to the nature of the position, but the frequency at which Jackson makes exciting plays is much higher. Especially if you count punt returns, too.Of course, in terms of raw excitement (rather than big play ability), I don't think either hold a candle to Dante Hall in his prime. The Human Joystick was an emotional roller coaster every single time he touched the ball.

I've had the fortune to live in Detroit during the Barry Sanders era, Kansas during Hall's and near Nashville during CJ's. I've been to a handful of games but watch most on TV and while the "can't hold a candle to" is obviously bolstering, Hall was one of the most dynamic players ever for that stretch. I'll still take Barry or CJ over him but partly because Hall's dominance was relatively short-lived. Very much hoping CJ's isn't.Is Jackson more exciting that Moss/Marshall/AJ? Different styles of course but those guys are close to DJ at least, no RB is close to CJ. :lmao:

 Really, Have you seen anyone stop Johnson yet?I was watching with a 50 point lead and playing against him in my big league....Needless to say he made me sweat, just like many others....I won by just a few!But I cant say too much DeSean is making my brother sweat now after last nights performance.Wheres the official what I need on monday night to win thread?, lol!

Love 'em both. Wasn't a landslide for me at all, I've watched both play extensively -- I'd choose Johnson but Jackson is right behind him.

Tough one,,,Jackson not only does it as a WR but also returning punts. Can;t say that about Dante Hall ( just returns ).

Johnson on the other hand,

Hell, can i get both?

Every time Jackson touches the ball, he's a serious threat to take it all the way to the house. His ratio of major play to touch is much higher than Johnson. I'd say Jackson.

Jackson made history last night, becoming only the 3rd player in NFL history to record 8 TD's over 50 yards in a single season. He has 3 games left to eclipse that mark.Johnson is already at 7 and will likely make a run at that record also.

I think they are equally exciting, so I am abstaining from voting in this one.

ETA: Chose to vote anyway........went with Chris Johnson.

Why is this thread sitting on page 2? These two players are on the verge of setting nearly unheard of records in the NFL, which hasn't been done in 44 years. They are both VERY EXCITING players to watch and root for.

Full disclosure: I own CJ in 1 league out of 12 & DeSean in 0 leagues out of 12.

Dante Hall's prime lasted for two seasons, but you can't really hold that against him in a comparison of players in their prime. For those two seasons, Hall was the most heart-stopping player I've ever seen, just because BOTH teams were wondering what he was going to do. I still remember his punt return against the Broncos where he caught the ball inside the 10 yard line, ran BACKWARDS TOWARDS THE END ZONE, managed to elude the first wave, got around the corner, cut across the field through traffic, and took the ball back 90+ yards for a score. I think fans of both teams nearly had a heart attack on that one.CJ and Barry are both radically better players who made far more exciting plays with far greater consistency, but in terms of sheer electricity every time the ball was in his hands, I'm sticking with Hall.

Edit: I was doing some research for this thread and discovered that Hall's 3 TDs of 90+ yards in 2003 tied the NFL record, and he added two more 90+ yard TDs in 2004 for good measure. Like I said... electricity.

Admittedly there is a bias towards Barry because he made me fall in love with the sport, Hall was exciting as anything to watch but there's always a bias towards your boyhood heroes. Think about it though, Hall only made like 12 huge plays in his career. ;)

maybe add Charles Woodson to the list. i think if u combine Reed/Bob Sanders/Adrian Wilson's great statistical season's maybe u come up with something close to what Woodson is doing or will accumulate this year. the most effective uber versatile defender i've seen in my time was Juilan Peterson years ago with my niners..........Woodson makes him look as about as versatile as a Garo Yepremian. either he kills drives or gets the ball back to his offense himself seemingly everytime he's around the ball.

Which is why Hall's name will never come up on a list of the greatest or most explosive players. On a list of the most EXCITING players, though... he's way up there. Even his moves had moves.Although, I have to say, while his big punt return against the Broncos in '03 was craziest punt return I've ever seen, this Broncos fan is still bitter about the two BLATANTLY OBVIOUS block in the back penalties that occurred right in front of the ref and went uncalled (one of them actually cleared out two Bronco tacklers). I feel like I'm obligated as a Broncos fan to remind everyone any time the topic turns to Dante Hall.

In the NBA, the question of who the biggest physical freak always came down to Shaq and Alan Iverson. Shaq, because in his prime he was 7'1, 310 lbs, around 5% bodyfat, quick, huge hops, unreal physical attributes. Meanwhile Iverson clocked in at around 5'10" and weighed about #150 soaking wet. Yet he was unstoppable, fearless, unbeleivably quick and yet could take it to the hole over anyone. No business being able to do what he did at his size.

For me, Jackson is in the same boat as Iverson. Tiny by NFL standards, basically the same size as Iverson, yet capable of utterly dominating. Chris Johnson is amazing, but he looks like a football player. Jackson looks like a cocky skinny kid you want to ##### slap.

Search function rocks. I was about to start this exact thread after watching Jackson highlites.

As I bump this, CJ leads 127-47. I just voted for Jackson.

I would go with Jackson
You just hold your breath every time he touches the ball, especially on punt returns. Ask Coughlin. The guy is so electric. Not that C.J. isn't, mind you. But you gotta choose one of 'em.
I say Jackson because he is probably the fastest player in the league on the field, I don't care what 40 times they ran, im talking about gamespeed on the field, Desean is Electric, not that CJ isn't but Desean is just 1 in a million type talent/speed/excitement

CJ3 doin his thing from the RB position is a whole lot more exciting and i imagine DC's hold their breath 4 times as much in a game for CJ3 than they do for DJax

Imagine if the Titans had a passing game that had the defenses with less than 8 or 9 in the box, it'd be sick

a DC can't do anything about TEN giving the ball to Johnson, there is alot they can do about DJax (punt OOB, blitz and force hot read, cover 2 deep)
