Here is where we are in Michigan:

Approximately 3 weeks ago, our Governor publicly stated that those who had traveled to Lansing, MI to protest her executive orders closing many businesses and other entities in the state could lead to making the re-opening of the economy "more precarious"

Three weeks later the protests are statewide, and not limited to Lansing, and that same governor is out, in violation of her own executive order, marching with protesters....Shes even seen in pictures with NO Social distancing from those not wearing masks.

I understand that a lot can happen in 3 weeks.  But the entire thing just reeks......

I haven't read all the replies but can we not social distance and protest at the same time?  It's not required to be standing next to each other to protest.

It's good to make a note of it when people show themselves to be FOS.

It's dumb because you have your own spin on things and do not listen to what they are really saying.  Life in politics

Answer to OP is the pandemic is the immediate concern because of the number of lives that are affected.  Societal racism is the long term concern that needs to be addressed.  That doesn't mean changes can't start immediately though but the pandemic guidelines should be followed in doing so.
Where was that line of thought a month ago when everyone was irked they couldn’t get their nails done?  Georgia reopened a month ago.

People can figure out how to protest with masks on. I’d prefer they leave their assault rifles at home.

Let's see what outbreaks occur in the next 2 weeks.

Did you see me supporting Georgia re-opening?
