As an eager owner, I've been bored by various stretches of the offseason. I think that the current period, leading up to through training camp, is really crappy. Full of baseless speculation and trade rumers, and a long ways from week 1.
July is the worst because there literally is no activity. In May and june there are OTAs even though most of what comes out of there is speculation and fluff peices, a crust of bread is found in that trash on occassion. In July except for the Broncos, no camps are held and heck they don't even sign many contracts until around the middle of the month. None of the other major sports to help distract either, as baseball is still to far away from its post season.
Mid-June thru all of July is the roughest. The flurry of activity after the draft with trading, new rookie speculation, voluntary workouts dies down and all but subsides into nothing. Old stories get regurgitated and people end up fighting in the same threads every week with no new info. Dynasty owners disappear for weeks at a time. Trade offers and PM's go unanswered. Crickets start chirping.
August & Septmeber can be rough as far as these boards go, but at least there's activity, camp battles and drafts starting up. Yes, you have to wade thru all the ACF type questions and the endless threads about things already debated over and over again, but there's lots of new stuff to take in.
End of the SB thru May is fine as most people are a little burned out and need the break in Feb. March is free agent time and April is draft time. May is trading time in dynasty after the fallout from the draft.
