My Edge Ranking (1 Viewer)

I think you are both wildly missing the point. I hardly think saying that a running back who has finished as the 5th and 6th running back the past two years should be ranked ninth constitutes bashing. Edge is an extremely successful NFL running back who is moving from one of the best teams in the league to one of the worst. I see no reason why droping him a few spots in our rankings based on the fact that he is in a new situation is unreasonable.

No one has said that Edge is a horrible player. Just that it is unlikely that he will match his production from last year.
Exactly.

I'll throw this out there... I was trying to trade for the 1.03 rookie pick. I was going to give up Edge for Michael Clayton and 1.03. It was rejected (which I kind of expected). I then asked a hypothetical trade of Edge for 1.03 and it was declined as well.

Has his stock really fallen that far?

The scary part is that I think his team is one quality RB away from making the playoffs. What am I missing here?

The 1.03 this year looks like it could be a very good rookie RB, depending on how the draft goes. I think it's more an indication of how valuable the 1.03 is then how much Edge has dropped. With Edge getting up there in age and going to Arizona, I'd keep that pick as well.

No he's a guppie for turning it down.I am glad your second trade was hypothetical, because that would have been a huge mistake. I wouldnt trade Edge for the 1.01 pick PERIOD.

I cannot endorse a higher ranking until I see substantive proof that the O Line has improved.  As an Arizona resident I can tell you last year's group was the worst run blocking line I have ever seen in my 20 years of watching NFL football.  I am not exaggerating.
SA will come back to his 17 point range or below this year with Hutch gone and is contract taken care of.Tiki will drop some as well because Brandon Jacobs will get a little more action

If Ricky is out, Ronnie Brown should move up into the top of tier 2 right behind Portis as Miami has picked Peele and Beasely two very good run blockers. they also had a little of an upgrade with LJ Shelton at LT and another year for Houck to get that line in order. Culpy will also take some pressure off.

I have Edge at 11.
Hutch gone does not spell the demise for Alexander. Although last year won't be repeated, that is because it was the best fantasy year for any RB, and you can't just replicate that. Hutch's loss isn't such a huge deal because they have Womack and also got Ashworth to step in. They only lost Hutch on the O-line at the Guard position, which is not a major position to replace, and Pork Chop is still a good lineman. Why do you think Jacobs will get more work this year? Its not as if they are grooming Jacobs to take over at some point.
How much the loss of Hutch impacts the team is hard to get a handle on, but it is clear he is the best guard in the game. I agree SA will not duplicate, but look at previous years and my prediction of 17 is pretty good (still)As for Brandon Jacobs, you are correct that Jacobs was not used as the true backup, but I think this year they will use Jacobs a little more in giving Tiki more blows throughout the game. i also think they want to get Jacobs in the game so that it is not so obvious that every time he is in the game they will run (which they did 90% of the time last year (not exaggerating)
