My girlfriend is close friends with her ex-boyfriend (1 Viewer)

At Christmas I had two nieces in their mid/late 20s seeking relationship advice. With one, her mom my sis, told me the history for over an hour. It was so complicated and confusing to them. It was simple. He was seeing someone else and he was conflicted. They both flipped out about this, not because they agreed, but because... Buckfast... they were positive that wasn't it. Shame on me. A lot of anger vented my way for this accusation. Drama queens. He was too great a guy for that (also an attorney). I shrugged.

The other told a short story. I asked if it bothered her that he was doing the sex with someone else. She didn't flip out. She explained to me that they were just friends and they had been too honest (a work relationship) for her not to trust them. She was... Buckfast... positive that wasn't it, and disappointed wise old uncle Chaos didn't have some sort of clever strategic advice for her.

Welp.
I wish I could comprehend what the hell you were trying to say in each of those paragraphs, it sounded relevant.
His explanation was totally Chaos. I'm with you on the understanding part - or lack thereof.

She volunteered to show you text messages? Red flag.

You can easily go through a text conversation and delete ones you want.
oh come on
I took her up on the offer to see the text messages right away, so she really didn't have the opportunity to delete anything. She also regularly lets me use her phone for stuff and is open with her phone password, so she's never been the type to try to hide her phone from me. You could tell from the tone of the text messages that there wasn't more going on than what was displayed in the texts. She also said that I am welcome to look at her text messages anytime that I want because she had absolutely nothing to hide, although I don't intend to take her up on that.
What the hell are u blabbering about? She had DAYS to delete any incriminating messages.Or you know delete them as soon as she reads/sends them.
You do realize, that you don't look "cool", or "smart" or anything other than a pathetic, insecure, looney tune...right?
Wait, you think I'm trying to be cool for a bunch of neck beards on the internet lol.
I can't imagine what else you'd be trying to accomplish with your paranoia and accusations.

So you disagree that she didn't have enough time to delete text messages prior to there talk, for which he told her about days in advance?

Hope everything turns out well, BF1. Seems like you have a good head on your shoulders and she may actually be a unicorn. Congrats!

Should I be concerned that only Zow understood me?

Fwiw, both nieces were in denial of unfaithful boyfriends while saying things similar to Buckfast here. I tried to use that to mess with him like so many others. His doubts and insecurities started this. Also fwiw, not sure if this was all shtick or not on Buckfast's part, but if taken at face value/no shtick, I agreed with Idiot Boxer that the lot of you here are sadly insecure. The friendship is nothing to be paranoid about. Buckfast should apologize to him. ;)

I really appreciate all the thoughts and advice in here. It was really helpful in thinking through the issue from different perspectives. I will certainly let you guys know if it turns out that I was wrong about the ex-boyfriend.
Did we ever get pics?
Nah, I'm not going to post pics of the current girlfriend. I've already given you guys tons of pics of the ex-wife, which is more than just about anyone else has ever done around here.
I don't recall seeing them. :kicksrock:

Ex: "What does your schedule look like this week? Can I take Molly for a run one day?"

GF: "Buckfast and I are going to a concert on Thursday night. You can pick her up around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday if you want."

Ex: "Thanks. Have fun."
Dude, that is totally a secret code they've worked out.

Why don't you use your lawyer money and offer to buy out his half of the dog? Offer him like $4k for the old mutt. He'd be stupid to turn it down and she would have no reason to see him any longer.

Plus, you'd have the satisfaction of emasculating him with your FBG wealth and she'll see you as the white knight.

I think all you doubters are really underestimating me. You guys really think that I should be worried about a 40-year old REI employee whose best attribute is his "niceness," who got broken up with by my girlfriend because of their lackluster sex life, and whose highlight of his life is a yappy little mutt from the shelter? GTFO.

Wait. What kind of dog are we talking about here?

I guess I was assuming this whole time it was a manly dog that the dude maybe crushed more on than the girl.

You were worried enough to start a thread about it, no?

I think a lot of the "advice" came because you oversold how close they were.

Unless Buckfast gives a new Friday chapter involving a threesome this thread will be buried by the end of the weekend. Just as a recap for the young fbgs around here what are some lessons or ground rules for significant others/wives and their communication/involvement with their exes?

1. No dog sharing.

2. No texting/messaging on fb.

3. No talking on the phone.

4. No hikes, walks, dinners, lunches, or any other date type activities.

5???

Am I missing anything here? Are there any acceptable exceptions to the above rules? This is assuming there are no human children involved, obviously if kids are involved there will be some type of communication for the rest of their lives.

The ex can NOT have a key to her apartment.

And probably shouldn't work off his phone bill by cleaning the new boyfriend's poop.

Grats on how everything turned out, Buck. Way to ruin the thread, Cool Hand Luke.

Next step?.......convince the GF to just give the flaming homosexual his dog and be rid of him entirely.

Sure she's telling the truth about that?

I mean I wasn't there for it, but she certainly seems extremely satisfied now.

You mean 40yo physical trainer ex BF with a bigger dong than you and a key to your girlfriends place? You're not getting it.

You need to establish dominance in front of her - like the scene in Goodfellas where Hendry marches across the street in broad daylight and pistol whips the ex boyfriend repeatedly in front of everyone. The ex boyfriend was no longer a problem and Karen soaked her panties. Done deal.

I think Karen smells her fingers for a second too right after he hands her the pistol. It's in the director's cut for sure.

Second phone, dummy. There's a second phone involved.

fair point, not like she would ever have sex with someone like that....for 6 years.

Yeah but she's so over that now.

Is this chick hotter than the ex wife or less hot?

6 years....my guess is she was waiting on him to pop the question, he never did, and they broke up.

To be honest, I'm starting to think his girlfriend is actually a man.

Think about it, 6 years with this guy. I'm assuming Buckfast didn't know "her" then. So "she" starts dating this "guy" from REI. Fit. Muscular. Nice. I suspect also a pre-op tranny, (female to male).

They discover they both wish to be the opposite sex, and throughout the course of their 6 year relationship, begin the transition.

Buckfast's "girl"friend has "her" junk inverted and some bolt ons added in. REI "guy" has some clever "enhancements" done down there with some hormone therapy and a bit of lucky genetics that gifted "him" a larger than usual, mythical, clit at birth.

Now the hormones and drug treatments wreak havoc on your sex drive. REI "guy" isn't quite feeling as frisky as "he" used to when "he" was getting plowed by "her" in the past, and isn't as much into doing the plowing.

Buck's "girl", on the other hand, transitioned flawlessly and isn't satiated by Mrs. Limp Clit and decides to explore other options.

This brings us to today. You can't prove that didn't happen.

Some folks have ripped on the ex BF. They are exactly wrong.

The ex is genius. As pointed out, he was likely getting pressure to marry the broad. He doesn't want to go down that road and was getting bored with nailing her. So, he and the woman agree to break up but remain friends for sake of the dog.

He gets to hang with his dog but not have to take it for walks constantly, vacuum the house daily due to hair, clean up poo.

He is back to dating this chick. Marriage pressure is gone. He likes her as a person but does not have to live with her. They go on hikes and have dinner dates. They buck enough that it is not boring. Since he is now the other man, the broad is more energetic since she is doing the bad boy.

With the woman out of his life full time, he doesn't have to worry about getting caught railing his clients. He is a personal trainer. He is nailing at least 3 and likely 7 of his clients.

The OP is the loser in this. The GF and ex BF are the winners. Young FBGs should be taking notes. Find a hot chick that rocks in the sack. Get a dog together. Reap the benefits after the break up.
