My Stock Value Strategy Starts Now (3 Viewers)

Frustrating day for sure. All these unnecessary dilutions have halted this whole sector. DRYS just got $500M in January and they need another 475M now? DSX is loaded with cash and they need more? And companies like Paragon are managing things perfectly and they have the super low P/E ratios. It doesn't make a lot of sense at all.

I too am starting to fear the earnings report, but at this level I refuse to sell this thing. My inclination is to add shares, but today just has that weird vibe to it. I think I am done buying stock today. I may dump the FEED for a small gain soon.

Sold FEED for 3.97 - Profit = $100 -12 = $88

Bought 5,000 PRGN at 3.93

I am just going to wait this out now. I am sitting on 20,000 PRGN at 4.05

If these were bank stocks they'd be up 20%.

These are the things that stump me. OCNF just filed an SEC document that looks as if YA Global just bought 12M common shares at $1.84. That is odd because I am completely upside down in this stock that now sits at 1.35.

Do we all jump onboard and trust the shady guy that also runs DRYS here?

Based on this filing, they are essentially redoing OCNF with YA Global as a main player with the new company. I always liked this companies assets (they can carry 1.2 dwt), but thought management was sketch.

If I had to guess at what is happening, YA paid a premium for those first shares and now is buying the others because the stock is tanking. And the harder they buy the lower it goes. But they wouldn't be just throwing their money away. They have seen the balance sheets, etc. I suspect this is a definite buy, but I am staying cautious.

Up to $148K of shares at 1.35 each sounds like a lot of volume for a long time. If you buy, you likely are going to need to hold for a month as this sorts itself out.

I don't think PRGN will release earnings on Monday. I don't see any mention of them on the Shipping website or Google yet.
Well for 1Q 08 they didn't announce it, they only announced it for 1H 08 and YE 08. Seems like for 1Q and 3Q they just release without an announcement. Also 1Q 08 was released Wednesday, 5/14/08, just for reference. I just read in the First Call: Earnings Valuation Report that next earnings due during the WEEK of 5/11. So anytime next week looks good.

If a stock is showing big volume without price progress then institutions are selling into the rising stock. If the stock hits the 20 dma and bounces with volume, then they are adding shares at that short term moving average.

Based on the current volume and price activity in this one it looks like they aren’t doing much of anything right now in PRGN.

Nope. I still hold quite a bit. I don't even want to check. Ugh... Down to 7.75. Should have put a trailing stop in place, but this stock offer snuck up on me.

Bored this afternoon and scared poopless with the dry shippers so I just laid down a small wager on FAZ. Probably a good time for people to FAS.

Has anyone on this board made money on FAZ?
Made one small bet during the huge Monday selloff a couple of weeks ago for a fairly nice gain, but left another XX% on the table when I was too chicken to hold overnight. Fussed about it for about 20 minutes that morning before the thing dropped from 13 to 9 in an hour or so. Pretty afraid to mess with her since.bigfishboy has done pretty well on both sides.

More good info for OCNF

But despite all of this good news, I am itching to sell this for the small gain here. I also might unload Paragon and just enter the weekend 100% in cash.

There was a weird vibe going in the market today for the Dry Shippers. Despite the BDI and Nasdaq up, these constant dilution schemes have made people jittery. I suspect Paragon is going to have great earnings, but I wonder if it will even matter.

I am getting a little afraid of a big market pullback here. Something definitely seems amiss.

I'm holding on to my Paragon for a while, I feel that once the economy starts to pick up again this stock will do great things. The more I read about it the more I like it. I just wish I hadn't shot myself in the foot with those 500 shares at $4.85 yesterday. DRYS definitely bringing it down today I think.

I hope so....Took the $2000 i made on CBI stock and put that and my orginal $1500 into OCNF.....

I CAN afford to lose it, but i'd prefer not to....also, i'm in no big hurry, so i'll just hold it, wait and hope...

I am such an idiot. I thought I closed out FEED and now see I still have 3,000 shares...Too many balls in the air today.

Year to Date Profit = $88,579

Today's Realized Gains/Losses = +88

FEED = $88

Unrealized Gains/Losses:

20,000 PRGN @ 4.05

10,000 OCNF @ 1.41

3,000 FEED @ 3.92

I almost sold out of everything here (although I did not realize I still had FEED shares until after the market close). I like all of my positions too much to panic sell here. I think they are all headed higher soon.

I have made mine only on FAS. I don't have the stomach to play FAZ. I have seen several times where I would put money on FAZ, but couldn't pull the trigger. My successful strategy was to play the end of day runs. Buy when it runs downhill late, sell when it runs uphill late. I got about three weeks of that before they started managing it differently (though I don't understand how all that works). I will admit that while I made money, I would have made more by just buying and keeping it till now. In other words, I sold too soon then had to buy back in at a higher level.I bought into FAS again jesterday at close for 10.31. I expect I will get burned sometime, but banks just seem to buck any logic. During bad news they go up, during good news they go up faster. I am going to sit on these shares and keep adding on down days. I am planning on not selling for months. I know all the bad issues with ETF's and the bear bubble, and the risk of getting creamed on a 3X ETF. But the thing is worth five times what I paid for it the first time. The fed will not let banks die, and they have a lot of room to grow.

1 winning bet, two bigger losing bets. That thing is toxic until the #### actually hits the fan. Nore ason to time it but it is going to have it's turn soon. That turn is going to be bigger, the higher we go.I could have stuck it out in FAS and been up 100% for the year now. I'm the worst.

Just got a voice mail from John J Joker from PRGN Investor Relations. "The company has not announced an earnings meeting yet and will have a press release when they decide to anounce"

Not much info I know.

The past 1.5 years have taught companies to raise money while the getting is good.

I don't necessarily disagree with it, but it sucks to invest in these companies only to watch them dilute value by 10-20%. DRYS and DSX screwed over the very people keeping them afloat during the rough spots. I actually suspected that Paragon was going to delay earnings. I read that as a great sign personally. I suspect they want to further restructure debt with the cash they raised. I think we will be very happy when they release earnings. That's if the rest of the sector doesn't destroy things first.

VNDA popped a wee bit after hours with FDA approval of a schizophrenia drug.Only up 824%. :goodposting: That would be like hitting the lotto.
FavreCo, thanks for posting this. Since I read this, I've been searching for the next potential VNDA. I've narrowed my search down to two candidates - CTIC and GNTA. I'll be buying both on Monday AM. If either one hits, I'll buy you a #4 Vikings jersey and mail it to you. I could just as easily lose all my money, but you know what they say - no risk, no reward. GLTA.

Take a look at the max historical chart for CTIC - from $2,940 to <$1.What did this company do back in 2001? Turn water into wine?

If these were bank stocks they'd be up 20%.
just put in a sell on my BAC and WFC--tripled since I bought it in February. Feels good to know I already paid the bills for baby #3. I have some cash to play with--is anybody in anything else besides PRGN right now? Read the last 4 pages and thats all I saw. Thanks

More on OCNF:

YA Global has added 58.305 Million shares of this stock this quarter ($91.28M). OCNF was suppose to announce earnings today and surprise, surprise they also pulled it off the table to further dilute this stock. Since YA Global is currently in this stock at an average of $1.57/share, One has to think that the value of this company is definitely greater than that (stock is currently trading at 1.43). They also recently purchased 12 million shares at 1.84 so I think that is also likely a point where this stock can get to in the next few months. The SEC filing allows for $148 Million in stock to be diluted here, but there has been significant efforts the past week to make that happen very soon. I think it's safe to say that this is another one of those situations where delayed earnings have everything to do with trying to get all of these shares diluted before announcing earnings.

I am holding OCNF and Paragon. Both are wildly undervalued in my opinion. I am very likely going to add to my OCNF position this morning.

Days like this you either need to add shares or just ignore it. I still love this stock, but the dilution from DRYS and DSX really zapped the strength of this sector. The NASDAQ is also down big so a big correction is happening today.

Sold 3,400 FEED @ $4.20 Profit = $936.63

Glad to be back guys, look forward to reading thru this thread the last 10 days to see what I missed. Have another 6,000 shares of FEED I am sitting on, but other than that I am almost entirely in cash as I sold almost everything before I left for vacation. Too bad, looks like FREE & DXO went thru the roof while I was gone.
