Guac needs to be cold to serve as a counterpoint to the heat of the nachos. Treat it like you would sour cream (throw a dollop on after heating up the nachos). Any other way is Neanderthal behavior, IMO.

 
This is true, and a legit reason.

Unlike some people that compare nachos with prime rib.
An absurd example but point was the same, it ain't just about getting things cooked the fastest/easiest way possible. Texture is dang important. 

 
I saw a microwave the other day that had a broiler coil thingy that could brown things you nuke.

Pretty boss.
