Well, it's not LaDainian - his rating and completion percentage are too high. But I figure it's someone like that, more searching to follow.....

I just went through every NFL team's passing stats and nobody has a passer rating of 125.6.I did find out that Trent Green is the only guy in the NFL to have every single passing attempt for his team this year though.

Hasselbeck?
I agree with this if it's a player that will have played 16 games. If it's a projection based on what might have happened had they played all season than I would suggest Brad Johnson.

I'm guessing the 125.6 came from the "projected" stats.
But you can't "project" a higher passer rating than you have in whatever games you've played. That would be like a batter hitting .290 in limited action "projecting" to .320. It must be some non-QB with a limited # of passes. LT and ARE come to mind, but both of them have passing ratings that are too high.

How can it be Hasselbeck? Here are his stats per NFL.com from the 15 games that he did play:441Att 288Comp 65.3% 3383yds 24 TDs 9 INTS 98.1 rating.

He was the only one close that I could immediately see. I also was thinking the post said 25 touchdowns when I was looking up stats, so I got confused. Tommy, Who is it?

Those stats do not belong to any QB in the NFL for this season.Worst thread evah.

Hints:

- current player

- NFL

- stats are projected over 16 game season
You might want to mention the PROJECTED part in your original post.
Naw, then it wouldn't be as fun. :football:

Why not? Either your projections are based on something more complex than just extrapolating the actual stats out to 16 games or you've made a mistake (or quite possibly both).

Yeah, these stats are undoubtedly projected wrong, but based on what he gave us I'll guess Chris Weinke.

Kelly Holcomb?
Ding ding ding, we have a winner. :moneybag: Holcomb started 7 games for the Bills, resulting in a 4-3 record. Projecting the stats for his complete games over a 16 game season, you get 3400 yards, 24 TDs, and 11 INTs.

It's quite surprising, really. Holcomb has outplayed his competition in at least 2 cities now, and yet he can't seem to get any respect or job security.

If Holcomb had started every game, the Bills would be in the playoff hunt right now.

(edited for typos/accuracy/etc.)

Except he played in 9 games not 7 so your projections are off. You can't pick the games you want to count towards his totals.

The projections are off even if you just go by those 7 games. For example, Holcomb threw 8 TDs in those 7 games. That projects out to just over 18 TDs, not 24. The other projections are off too.

Was about to add that he had 1298 yds. passing in 7 games which only projects to 2966 in 16 games, not 3400.

3400 yards

69% completion pct.

24 TDs

11 INTs

125.6 passer rating

Led team to winning record in 2005.
Well, first off, Holcomb's Comp% is 68%. Second, his rating is only 92.9. Third, and this one is huge... his yard per attempt is a very poor 6.87. Yards per attempts is a great stat, because it shows who is padding their completion percentage with 5 yard gains and who has a low % because they keep throwing bombs. Basically, all QBs in all styles of offense can compare YPA. Also, YPA is the stat that has the highest correlation with winning.

Who has a passing attempt for Denver? I know Plummer has played every single snap except for 3, and all of those 3 were running plays. There was another where Van Pelt was lined up under center and ran a QB draw, but that wasn't a passing attempt. Did they credit the aborted trick play with Rod Smith as a passing attempt for Rod Smith, because he never threw the ball?

According to NFL.com Smith has the other attempt.

Projecting the 7 game stats to 16 games (not counting the stats from the other 2 games), Holcomb would be:420 attempts, 290 completions (69%), 18 TD's, 9 INT's, 2966 yds, 94.4 Passer Rating.Real Close there, TG.

Actually, I only projected the stats from the 6 full games that he played (omitting the Week 10 game where he was injured after 1 quarter).Holcomb had 9 TDs and 4 INTs in the 6 full games that he started (including 1 rushing TD). Projected over 16 games and you get 24 TDs and 11 INTs.

What he said. Crazy stats keepers. Anyway I'd hazard a guess that someone else might break into the passing attempt column for Denver this week - whilst I doubt Green gets replaced unless he gets hurt.

Did a calculation of the passer rating of all the players in the NFL this year. Since passer rating scales the same when extrapolating over a full season, this should be valid. Here are the top QB ratings this season:Anwaan Randle El 158.3333LaDainian Tomlinson 153.125Clinton Portis 118.75Tony Fisher 118.75Arnaz Battle 118.75Chris Weinke 118.23Jay Fiedler 113.30Jeff Blake 112.5Peyton Manning 104.28Jim Sorgi 103.83Ben Roethlisberger 103.44Carson Palmer 101.40So, I guess the answer is that these stat projections are either not from the NFL this year, or are from another year.
