Narcos on netflix (1 Viewer)

agree. I'm about 6 or 7 in... really good stuff.

first couple episodes were a bit slow setting stuff up... but the last few have been really hard not to binge.

those first two DEA agents that appeared in episode 1 & 2 almost made me tap out

it felt an awful lot like they belonged on a failed CBS pilot

Watched the 3rd episode last night. I don't think casting Newman from Seinfeld was a good idea. Not that he did a bad job but it really takes you out of the realism of the show having such a recognized actor and a comedic one at that.

I thought he was fine.  He only has like 3 scenes all season

He's barely in it

We watched the 4th episode the other night. I loved how they showed the decoy raid and made you think it was the real thing before letting on what was really happening. I did think something was up when Pena was eying the chicken truck passing by as they were on to their raid in the other direction.

I just finished Season2 Ep4. Holy crap there were some tense moments in this one.

1. Murphy chasing the guy in the narrow streets at night.
2. The moment's leading up to Carillo getting ambushed.
3. Pablo's conversation with Mariza at the end.
:scared:

So great.

why is the media trying to pretend that Murphy isn't the son of Hal Linden?

We only have 2 left. The first half of the season was good but it gets better and better after that. Probably will wind up being the best season to me.

I just finished season 2 this weekend. They did a great job of making Pablo in a sympathetic figure.
That segue to Season 3 was pretty great. Can't wait.

i hope that for narcos season 4 they find the money pit that would rule take that to the bank bromigos

only 2 eps in, but this season is great.  very peaky blinders/boardwalk empire feel plus

Ken Cosgrove?

el chapo?!

unwatchable...does it ever stop with the subtitles...
I agree.  I tried to watch it but all the foreign language and subtitles made it unwatchable for me as well.  Is it still that way?  I only watched a couple of episodes before I gave up.

Just finished Narcos Mexico. Fascinating stuff. I never heard of Gallardo or Kiki Camerena but reading about them now. Also had no clue Chapo was THE El Chapo.

I liked Narcos Mexico a lot. The DEA agents weren't as good as Javier and Steve were in Narcos and the Felix character wasn't as compelling of a villain as Escobar and the Cali crew were, but it was a binge worthy series. The set up for season 2 of Narcos Mexico looked promising. Good to see Ken Cosgrove find some work.

Really enjoyed it.  Even though I knew how it all ended for Kiki, it was still had enough suspense to keep you guessing.

didn't know those guys either- but El Chapo... of course- especially considering his trial is ongoing in the city right now (plus his awesome recent prison escape). interesting to see him as a kid coming up the ranks (and getting picked on for being little).

on ep4 now and cant get over how poorly cast the main cop is.

he just looks like a goof
yeah- I've been saying this same thing in the Narcos Mexico thread. ... eta: oh- misread that. I found gallardo to be terribly miscast- always played it scared and uncertain rather than powerful and brutal. I didn't mind kiki's casting.

Not as good as the previous 3, but it is an intro to a semi-new world. Still a must watch series. Knocked it out in my 2 days off.
this is pretty similar to where I'm at. I liked it fine- but felt like a step-down especially with the writing where they relied on omg-he's-going-to-get-caught-by-the-crazy-coincidence-of-timing-PHEW. still, really interesting getting the story on the mexican cartels- and on sensimilia (just assumed it was code for good weed, not an actual thing)
