Nate Washington (1 Viewer)

Holy Cow, I understand they have Rusty as the QB but I was actually thinking of playing Washington this week against a pretty good pass matchup.

I know early on in the week the projections seem to fluctuate as it gets closer to Sunday but this is Friday's projection, it's not going to change that much. This is basically saying STAY AWAY at all costs because if you're rated 69, you may as well be rated 100. I'm a little surprised and taken back by this. I will admit, I haven't seen Rusty play and if there's news that this dude can't throw the ball basically at all, I'll rethink starting someone like Gaffney or Hines Ward (Ward is in my doghouse, he's gotten me more games with under 5 points this year than I can stomach). (I'm not asking if you're start Gaffney or Hines, I'll decide that on Sunday, just what your thoughts are on Nate Washington this week)

Anyone's thoughts on Nate this week? I thought he was a decent WR3 option, meaning right around top 36 this week. I respect the opinion of Bloom which has me rethinking my original plan to start him.

He put up 100 last week, and has been surprisingly decent as a WR3. I don't think he's necessarily a top 30 start, but 69 seems waaaay too low to me too.

However, I don't think there is anything reliable about Tenn this week other than the fact CJ will get his carries. So you could be right in that the message is look elsewhere and I think I agree with that.

:goodposting: I think you are dead on with that ranking - obviously depends on other options but on a list that is where I see himSmith has a good arm but certainly lacks NFL experience but I would have him rated much higher this week just on facing Houston's terrible pass defense and having good weapons.....Chris Johnson helps any QB and Smith can throw long to Moss.........actually like most backup quarterbacks he probably still has better rapport with lesser receivers but you would have to be in an awfully deep league to go beyond Moss and Washington

He's still No. 69 as of Sunday and not ranked as a WR3 starter by Dodds but I'm starting him anyway. Rusty connected with Washington last week on a 50 yarder and against the Houston pass defense, that is certainly possible.

The way I look at it, if you can't start Nate Washington over guys like Gaffney and Hines Ward this week with him playing Houston, I may as well drop this guy because it doesn't get any better. So I guess I'm going against the grain and starting Washington, hoping that Houston at home gets the lead early on and Tennessee has to pass to get back into the game.

If Tennesee gets the lead and they try and maintain that lead by trying to run the ball, then that's when Washington's numbers will end up horrible by games end.

Bottom line is Houston's pass D is awful, if it wasn't I wouldn't even go there, but I am as I can't start Hines Ward who's let me down horribly on at least 3 occassions and Gaffney could be a sneaky start today but Nate has come through for me 2 weeks in a row so he gets the nod.
