Is everyone here playing in the $50,000 or $60,000 caps? I've found I've had a lot more success in the $50,000 ones than in the $60,000.

i've only played in the $60...you might be on to something though. looking at the lineups from the 50/50 i played last night, seems a lot like what happens with an 8 team fantasy football league. everybody had at least 2 (and usually 3) of kobe, lebron, durant, and westbrook. from there it was a crapshoot as to who picked ty lawson, greg monroe, etc.

Been out for the holidays. Can someone kindly compile a list of the viable bargin buys currently?
With Howard/Gasol/Hill all out I have to assume last man standing in the LA frontcourt has to be a bargain.Rondo suspended, so Terry is probably a bargain.

If you can change your lineup at the very last minute it seems like you can take advantage of late scratches more often in the 50k contests.

i'd also like to hear people's observations on the quality of opposition at different cost levels. is the competition better in the higher stakes games? would i be better off playing a ton of $1 games or few higher $?

It seems to me that more of the sharks or the guys who play in tons of contests are in the $60,000 bracket.

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't notice the level of competition tied to the stakes. Still, when it comes to the NBA I prefer many lower stake games on a given night with a few different lineups because weird things seem to happen more often. Players get ejected much more often than football for instance. Even the best player on the team may get benched for an entire half(crazy Cousins drama). In the NFL there are a few players that are a complete grab bag like D.Williams(CAR) but overall the opportunities seemed much more consistent.

You mean like Flacco crushing Rodgers or Kuhn outscoring Rice this weekend?I find the NBA more level because you don't have the huge variance of TDs.

That's a good point with regard to TD's.I stay away from individual player stats during the NFL playoffs. Too few teams, usually there aren't any terrible defenses to target, teams sometimes play out of character because it's one and done, etc.

I was actually 4 and 0 this weekend in NFL FD, three of those in the top 10. Wilson has been hugely undervalued in their scoring format. Once you added him Lynch was cheap. I like the WR pairs in 50/50s so Wayne/Hilton were an easy play or Boldin/Smith. This week Lynch/Moreno are locks at RB. Grab CKep or Wilson at QB. Pair Thomas/Decker or Welker/Lloyd. Gonzo or AHern at TE.

Arrgh!

Had Nelson in both of my lineups. His 3pt to send the game to OT will turn two narrow winners into two losers.

Here's what I'v4e got for tonite. Appreicate any comment

Teague

Loius Williams

Bryant

Harden James

Korver

Jamison

Scola

Hawes (this guy usually kills me)

Teague

Nash

Harden

Ellis

James

World Peace

Jamison

Patterson

Asik

Really like the second lineup better

$600 leftover here in the first lineup. Trying to decide if Barea+Asik > Teague+Gortat. Oversight. That will be my fix in the first lineup...600 difference between Williams and Jamison, and roll with Asik to dominate LAL. Not sure if he's a must play in all lineups...he hasn't been getting any run lately.

Gus/Bolt/Anyone else playing tonight?
I am. Really like Harden/bryant @SG & Cunningham/Jamison @PF. Those are my starters on all my teams. What are your thoughts on Metta vs AK @SF? Since Love went down AK has been very steady but you would have to think anybody that can rebound for LA will be playing all game long.

I wouldn't mind using AK in some, but the two lineups above I don't have even $300 extra on hand to make the change. I'm not seeing alot of wiggle room elsewhere either.I'm a little worried about playing Barea so much. But, here is the breakdown of minutes the last 3 games Rubio played. *=started, most recent games first (all in DEC).Ridnour 19*, 38*, 23*Barea - 28, 38*, 23Rubio - 21, 18, 18Since Rubio has missed 4 games in a row, it's probably safe to assume he'll get no more than 20 minutes tonight.

I like it.Hadn't really noticed Allen was scoring better lately and I like your thoughts on Barea. The MIN is such a tough read I've simply stayed away but you're thinking certainly makes sense.

I also like this one in a 50k although Sacre production is purely speculative. Any idea if they go with a small lineup for most of the game instead of playing Sacre? Sacre/Clark have barely played but there is nobody else active that's taller than 6'9".PG Deron WilliamsBKN@PHI$6,800PG Louis WilliamsATL@MIN$5,700SG James HardenLAL@HOU$9,200SG Ray AllenMIA@IND$4,500SF Metta World PeaceLAL@HOU$6,000SF Andrei KirilenkoATL@MIN$6,300PF Antawn JamisonLAL@HOU$4,100PF Dante CunninghamATL@MIN$3,900C Robert SacreLAL@HOU$3,500

Got smoked tonite in 50/50s 3 and 7. Two narrow misses. Here's what I learned...230 and 233 were the 50/50 from contests I entered last nite. That moved to 246-250 on the contests prior to tip off.Ersan Ilyasova 4700 and World Peace 5900 are must starts Wed nite.

Maybe the first sign you have a problem is when you are "stunned" that Lou Williams gets benched for the Atlanta Hawks. Can't understand that move at all.

Here's my main lineup for toniteRajon RondoRamon SessionsJames HardenKobe BryantKevin DurantMetta World PeaceErsan IlyasovaDerrick WilliamsRobert Sacre

I saw the news about the Hawks lineup, but still went with Williams because I figured he'd still get his minutes and the Cavs guards can't stop anyone. :wall:

Foye and Hayward have been good cheap guards for me. Pretty much start anyone v. Charlotte. Seesions has been another decent cheap guard doing well tonite.Entered lineups tonite. A majority have Kobe/Harden/Durant/World Peace. didn't see many (if any) lineups with the first three.

Could get real ugly tonite for me. I'm sitting with a bunch of 246s and no one left to go. Rondo absolutely killed me tonite.

Only big disappointment for me was T.Duncan. On 60k rosters I was heavy on the whole Parker/Ginobili/Duncan combination. I would have guessed he'd have 15+FGA/10+FTA/10+REB against that frontline as Pop slowed the game down and just punished them in the half court.

Any bargains tonight? Copeland starting for Melo worth playing? I thought DJ Augustin was one, but Roto is saying George Hill is going to play.

Copeland allows Wade in the lineup contrast below. Would like to get JR or George in there with LBJ but you can't even do that taking Wade down to Ray Allen. Copeland is averaging like 20ppg when he starts over Carmello. :shrug:PG Jason KiddNY@IND$5,200PG Darren CollisonDAL@SAC$5,400SG O.J. Any trepidation with regard to Cousins? I thought most people associated with the team were fed up with the guy but he was brought back at the direct request of the Maloofs, but it's hard to keep up with that drama. Maybe I'm way off. Just thought he may be on a shorter leash than usual from the coach.

When he wants to play he can be a monster. Problem is figuring out when he's going to show up. At home, against an easier defense he might decide to actually try in this one so he can float awhile.Tough night all around with just 3 games...

If he posts what he has been posting the past week I think we are gonna want him in.
