*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

Some real bad coaching by Pop down the stretch. How you're not feeding Timmy in the post is hard to explain.
There's actually a very simple explanation. The Heat are an outstanding defensive team. With LeBron on him, Parker was pretty much limited to side-to-side movement and couldn't get the ball inside. And Parker is such a defensive liability he had to to be subbed out on key defensive possessions, limiting SAS's chances to get transition buckets off of misses.
Wait, they couldn't get it inside to Timmy b/c Parker was being guarded so well by James? Then have Ginobli bring it up the floor. They kept try to force feed that pick and roll with Parker and that was going nowhere.
Yes. The solution to SAS's problems tonight was to GIVE GINOBILI MORE BALL-HANDLING AND DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES.
he only had 8 turnovers in the game.

Yeah, that would have been a hard task. Dribble the ball down the court and pass it to Timmy in the post. Even he could handle that.

Or keep running that wonderful pick and roll which was doing nothing.

Good football game down the stretch.
Manu picked up the first down and then some.
Bosh with the tackle of the night though...

Where we at with NFL rules...is that tackle now considered a penalty...unnecessary roughness or something?
It was all ball? If you get ball first in the nba they dont call body and I'm not sure he even got, body on him
Give it up already.

They are not making that call in OT game six of The Finals.

And Bosh got a ton of ball. Great block.

Spurs should have hit their free throws. Miami did what they had to do. Give them credit. Refs were not the deciding factor. As a Spurs fan they don't make it easy. I remember the Finals against the Pistons years ago. Just tough to get the final win. Game 7 it is, go Spurs!

Pulling Duncan to guard against the 3 is stupid. It hurt the Pacers, it hurt the Spurs TWICE!

The deciding factor for me was 2 missed FTs by the Spurs at the end of regulation. Game over.

It still comes down to fundamentals.

Am I missing something? What was the purpose of having Splitter on the court and Parker on the bench?

3 on 5 against MIA isn't going to work very often.
Parker's not particularly effective with 1.9 seconds down 3. He generally creates all his own shots, not really a catch-and-shoot guy.

Splitter isn't especially useful either, but he is a bit of a roadblock around the free-throw line and might've been able to screen someone free for a good look.

Still laughing at the pathetic bandwagon Heat fans that were leaving the game with 28 seconds left. What a joke and a complete embarrassment for that fan base.

If the Heat lose, fans are complaining about the refs.

Spurs do lose, fans are complaining about the refs.

If anything the third quarter was the worst officiated portion of the game. And it wasn't that awful.

Christ, put neal in the game and have him get it to Timmy. Another brilliant decision by Pop keeping Manu in at all. Just a terrible coaching job at the end between keeping Manu in, keeping Timmy out at the end of regulation and then just continually running that pick and roll against James.

The guy couldn't call a timeout properly down the stretch.
Duncan was not open in the post either. That wouldn't have been an easy hypothetical pass.

There was a stretch in the 4th when SA missed 3 wide open 3-pointers in about a minute and a half (2 by Green, 1 by Leonard) that I thought was pretty big. Those are the shots they made in their wins and even one of them might have taken some wind out of Miami's comeback.

The Spurs should have won this game in regulation, but didn't make the necessary plays to close out the game with less than a minute left. Manu and Leonard both missed free-throws that would have put the game too far out of reach. And the Heat scored both 3 pointers on 2nd chance opportunities. All they had to do was hit one of those free-throws or grab one of those rebounds and they win their 5th title.

Apparently the fans that left early were banging on the doors to be let back in. :lmao: DOS MINUTOS

@VictorOquendo: Cops finally here. Fans still pounding on the doors begging to be let in.

Huh? Were they double teaming him. Did Bosh magically learn how to play defense?

That is your ball game right there.

Plain and simple.

@Ms_Mambo not being let in and it's glorious.

Victor Oquendo‏@VictorOquendo21m

@Boothman23 you're asking for the people that left game 6 of the NBA finals to use logic?

Victor Oquendo‏@VictorOquendo22m

@BrodyLogan @ThisIsChucker same fans screaming about how much they paid for their tickets by the way.

Might need to call the big dogs in soon. Just sayin'

Victor Oquendo‏@VictorOquendo33m

None of them deserve to be let in. They are pounding the glass doors. I'm all for gender equality but I'm only seeing female guards....

Victor Oquendo‏@VictorOquendo35m

Now I'm watching horrible, drunk, quitting fans desperately trying to get back in. This is madness.

Victor Oquendo‏@VictorOquendo37m

Honestly embarrassing. I'm setting up for my live shot outside the arena, just watching fan after fan exit early.

Does Lebron have to have a private sit down with Riley to ensure Wade is off the floor if the Heat get down in game 7? Wade is a hood ornament for this team and he needs to know his place.

I could not agree more. I'm embarrassed for my city. ####### fair weather fans some of us are. Unacceptable. I hope we learned a lesson...but I doubt it.

It's not all of us, though.

Unreal game. Couple terrible decisions by Pop down the stretch. Crazy 3 by Ray. Bosh sucks all game then has an amazing last 6 min. Just unreal.

Oh, I know. I just thought it was ridiculous. With 28 seconds left in the NBA game that's an eternity... I hope those fans enjoyed listening to the rest of the game in the parking lot. All the money they probably spent on the tickets and then to miss that finish. Just makes no sense at all...

I love every word of this.
It's like you feel like maybe there's some justice in the world after reading something like that.

Now lets pretend anyone else has the 4Q and OT that Lebron had offensively and defensively. They would be going nuts about whoever that player was (Duncan or Parker, imagine?). Lebron does it and its "Meh, why didnt he do it all game long."

I like to poke the bear, but Lebron is totally taken for granted. He'll be appreciated more after he retires when you step back and look at how good he was over a long stretch of highway.

Decision will haunt him until he retires. I didn't like it when it happened but I'm actually rooting for the guy because of how far people have gone against him. He has embraced the bad guy role. I like that.

i think Pop is going to have another sleepless night.
Big fan of any and all misery which comes his way. Great coach, miserable person.
I guess I've missed it, but how is he a miserable person????
You must have missed my 9,000 posts on the topic. He's a bully and an a####le and he treats everyone in the media (other than Doris Burke) as if they are not human. I dare you to tell me I'm wrong.

Do people still really care about the "decision"? Most overrated media hype ever.

:goodposting:

I was thinking to myself "What could possibly be worth getting out of the parking lot early at the risk of missing a great ending? What else are you in a hurry to do at midnight on a Tuesday?"

Then I realized we're talking about Miami fans. So coke, obviously.

Most of them are just trying to do their job. Pop is a #### to them. Case closed.

Apologies. I get frustrated talking about him. He bullies everyone "beneath" him and it's astonishing to me that everyone doesn't see it.
