Do baseball players get extra HoF consideration for excelling at Triple-A?

Its not the NBA hall of fame, I think that is where your hang up is.Do you think it's equal to the NBA?International Basketball is like minor league baseball?Do baseball players get extra HoF consideration for excelling at Triple-A?
I didn't say that. I certainly think that FIBA and the Olympics are worthwhile in considering a player's resume. It's not like Manu is getting in because he won MVP of the Euroleague once or twice. He led the Argentinians to the only non_USA Olympic gold in the last six games.Do you think it's equal to the NBA?International Basketball is like minor league baseball?Do baseball players get extra HoF consideration for excelling at Triple-A?

I feel like I remember a handful of ex-teammates and coaches over the years saying what a great coach he'd make one day.
Cause all the players would be scared ####less of him.I feel like I remember a handful of ex-teammates and coaches over the years saying what a great coach he'd make one day.
Apparently he has a great mind for basketball. I would love if this happened.I feel like I remember a handful of ex-teammates and coaches over the years saying what a great coach he'd make one day.

I know its funny. Can you imagine them in the NBA Hall of Fame? I can't.Abraham said:Mario Kart said:If Manu and Pau get into the Hall of Fame, it truly is the Hall of Medicroity. Both guys have multiple NBA rings and have excelled in international play.
Not much to say. Has-been player goes to a has-been team.Did I miss chitter-chat about Kaman to the Lakers? Sorry if I'm late to the party.

Kamen will not start for the Lakers.I don't completely disagree, but it is a new starting center for one of the marquee franchises in the league. Worth a mention, I thought.![]()
You seem to still be struggling on a very important point here.I know its funny. Can you imagine them in the NBA Hall of Fame? I can't.Manu = 3 rings, 2 all-stars in 11 seasons. And, he was a "starter" in four of those eleven.Abraham said:Mario Kart said:If Manu and Pau get into the Hall of Fame, it truly is the Hall of Medicroity. Both guys have multiple NBA rings and have excelled in international play.
Pau = 2 rings, 4 all-stars in 13 seasons. Averaging double/double in three of those thirteen.
Yeah, it would be funny if those stats allow for an NBA Hall of Fame induction.
Guess I was going by what the blurb said. Not all that familiar with the post-Dwight era Lakers' C situation, I guess. I'd absolutely love to see Melo in a Laker uni. The idea that any team wouldn't want to add a Team USA starter is just stupid talk.Cliff Clavin said:Not even close. Melo and Kobe are perhaps the two biggest chuckers the league has ever seen. They'd probably come to blows during timeouts arguing over who gets to take the contested jumper while being triple teamed to end the game.pollardsvision said:Let's look at another pair of old, high-volume perimeter scorers that paired up.
29 YO SF that had never won a damn thing. Def. had a bit of rep as a me-first chucker. 18-20 shots/game most of career. Under 45% for 6 of his first 9 seasons.
31 YO SG that was accustomed to 20 or so shots/game every year. 4 of the previous 5 seasons (toiling away on a terrible team) were under 45%. A once great 3P shooter (and all time great) had been under 40% each of the previous 5 seasons.
Pierce and Allen teamed up, both went happily went down below 15 shots/game and saw their %s go way up.
Not the same players or the same situation, but when you see elite high volume shooters teams up the dynamic changes.
The only recent possible comparison would have been pairing Iverson up with someone... but we know well he took to a 6th man role so it isn't hard to guess how he would have done with a co-star.
No, I get it. The NBA is arguably the top players in the world and the two in question have performed in a non-All-Star fashion. The merits of their NBA careers do not favor an All-Star selection. You seem to still be struggling on a very important point here.I know its funny. Can you imagine them in the NBA Hall of Fame? wNba is kind of like A ball, right?I wonder how Mario Kart feels about Cheryl Miller being in the Hall of Fame.
Have you looked at the list of who is in? There are some good players that aren't.I think you guys talking down at us are actually missing the point. We get that it's not the NBA HoF. We're saying that makes it less elite and special. The fact that those two are virtual locks to get in indicates how diluted it is.
Probably better players than Manu and Pau.Have you looked at the list of who is in? There are some good players that aren't.I think you guys talking down at us are actually missing the point. There are women players from Eastern European countries in the basketball hall of fame. One should not take that hall of fame seriously at all.I wonder how Mario Kart feels about Cheryl Miller being in the Hall of Fame.
It might make for some entertaining basketball if you like that kind of offense, and they'd probably win a few playoff series over the course of their time together, but I don't think a Kobe/Melo Laker squad would be a championship contender. Too much money tied up in one dimensional guys at that point. So I don't think I'd love it, though I might enjoy watching it, as it'd mean further deferral of building towards another championship.I'd absolutely love to see Melo in a Laker uni. Don't think they had to coax to hard since it's beneficial to the Nuggets to.Gotta love the new Dubs management. I know I keep harping about it, but after suffering through the Cohan years the Lacob Era is off to a great start.
Today they managed to get DEN to agree to a 3 way sign and trade with Utah for Iggy. This is HUGE because it let's the Warriors stay at the cap limit where they get to use the: MLE, rookie exception, and since dump Biedrins/RJ to an under the cap team they get $23 million dollars worth of trade exceptions!
If they couldn't coax DEN to agree to a SnT the Dubs would have lost out on all of those goodies. So props to them for making moves.
Then it is reported that the Dubs have signed Marreese Speights. 3 years, 3rd year team option. Not sure how much it's for but I have faith it's at a reasonable salary considering what they did with Landry last year.
It's a great time to be a Dubs fan!!!

Or, perhaps, our standards of what makes someone an All-Star are more in line with the actual use of the term "All-Star." Perhaps we like the word to have meaning. Kind of like when everyone gets a ribbon for playing. Pretty soon everyone is going to be an All-Star.You and psycho have opinions that indicate you don't know what the #### you're talking about.I think you guys talking down at us are actually missing the point. Great, doesn't mean he is Hall of Fame worthy.Call me old fashioned, but if a guy makes the all star team he is an all star.
