I think the prevailing wisdom amongst the smart NBA analysts is that Portland won't be good enough on defense come playoff time, but who knows. 1-8 will all have a shot in the West, lotta rock paper scissor stuff going on.To win the west (sportsbook.ag):
OKC at +500 feels a bit steep for a team who's currently sitting on a losing record and on the bubble of making the playoffs. Getting healthy though... and on a 6 game win streak, so maybe not TOO inflated?
Spurs at +250...![]()
Multiple power ranking / predictive sites have Portland Trailblazers as the overhwhelming 2nd most likely team to win the West. Does this reflect reality? Hollinger / Basketball Reference. Does Portland present value at 12-1?
Chartball is an interesting site....
I will be shocked if the Thunder don't make the playoffs. I think they can get as high as five. They are only half a game out of 8th place right now. I am more worried about the Pelicans than the Suns. I have too much free time but I went through the schedule the other day and there are 50 pretty easy wins in there and they could easily get 55+. They'll get destroyed @ Golden State on Thursday though, Durant is still sorta rusty. Westbrook on the other hand is just murdering people. If they stay healthy, come playoff time I believe this will be the best team they've had since the franchise moved to OKC.
