Which city has more bugs?
Nice avatar. :hifive:Always nice to talk basketball with a fellow diehard Miami HEAT fan. :bag:
<-----------I need to be lavished with innerweb approval.
Keep on characterizing an entire region of white people as racist.Soon you will be lavished with approval on the same level as Internet hero LHUCKS.It may seem like a long journey, but every journey begins with a single step.

I'll add for w/e reason, and I've realized this while live in the midwest, people in that region are incredibly uncomfortable around diversity. Not just black people but hispanic's, indians, middle easterners...they all make midwesterners uncomfortable. They immediately confuse ethnic neighborhoods for unsafe neighborhoods.
In three years this is what I found to be the case. Because it offends your sensibilities doesn't make it any less true.
Three years where Magellan? Did you visit every city in the midwest to procure this "truth?" :bag:What a joke.
I lived in Southeastern Ohio, and I spent time in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. So your position is essentially that what I'm saying can't possibly be true because ____________?
...because you are ignorant. You've obviously never been to Ann Arbor, Chicago, Campaign-Urbana, Grand Rapids, Columbia, Indianapolis, Columbus, Minneapolis, Traverse City, Kansas City, St Louis, Jefferson City or many of the other small towns in the region. Dearborn Michigan is primarily middle eastern, no one thinks it's "unsafe." It's actually the opposite, people flock there because of the relative safety. The college towns are extremely diverse and big cities like Chicago and smaller ones like Carbondale have a fine mix of people from all over the place. Immigrants from the far east and Eastern Europe can be found in the suburbs of Detroit and Mexicans thrive in the SW part of the city which is the only part that is growing. Detroiters flock there. Every gas station and grocery store in metro Detroit is owned by Indians or Middle Easterners. I think you are living in 1958. Where all your friends 70 in Ohio? I thought you were smarter than this, you basically just called tens of millions of people ignorant racists. What are you doing, your best HUCKs impersonation?
stop telling lies about 70 year olds

I love what Walsh has done to the Knicks. I thought if we dont Lebron we done. But we got Anthony "21 year old" Randolph who is a steals machine and blocks shots as well for free basically and also got good solid role players Azu and Turiat.

Really want Felton now, and i think we can be a surprising #5 or #6 seed if Danilo can take the next step.

Now all we need is Melo or CP3 in 2012 and we can contend with Heat.
:hey: Getting Randolph, Azu, and Turiaf really lessens the stings of not getting Lebron. I disagree about getting Felton, they need to preserve the cap space for Parker, Anthony, or CP3. With this roster the playoffs are a realistic goal. PG is still a gaping hole though perhaps a Shaun Livingston could fill in for a shorter and cheaper deal than Felton.
;) Has to be a shtick.

Made me laugh though...ANTHONY RANDOLPH, KICK SAVIOR (never mind the fact that he plays the same position as Amare)

Beasley just traded to Minnesota
and it looks like the rumors of the Heat offering Mike Miller 5 years 33 million are realCrunch Time lineup ofChalmersWadeMillerLeBronBoshis very nice.
It is, but the interior defense is pretty bad. They have a ton of work to do in that area. And I know people will say they don't need to worry about it because of their 3 stars, but they do. Teams will focus on that weakness.

Gilbert should have taken a day before he wrote anything. He comes off looking like a child, even if he is right about the situation.

Lebron James had every right to go to a different team, and the fact that he went to a team that offers him the best chance at a title is saying something. But . . . the way he left the Cavs is horrible and unprofessional. The most disappointing part, is when Jim Gray asked him if other teams were told of his decision, he said no. He owes it to the Cavs management to let them know he was leaving.

And what was his PR machine thinking. Lebron came off as totally unprepared for the predictable questions he was asked. He came off as cocky and arrogant regarding his tenure in Cleveland. Oof.

No problem with Lebron leaving the Cavs, but the way he did it was embarrassing.

I might actually cheers for the Lakers if they're facing the Heat this year.
If Bynum can ever get healthy, he and Gasol would dominate the Heat's interior as it stands now. The Heat really need to address their interior defense.

Dear Dan Gilbert, If LeBron quit in four different games of the Boston series why were you offering him over 120 million dollars to keep playing for you? That doesn't make any sense.

If you can bet on next seasons MVP load up on Durant and Howard. The top three players in the NBA have little chance of winning now. Kobe will be saving it for the playoffs and Wade/LeBron cancel each other out.

Predictions on the Heat roster:

PG Chalmers, Jason Williams, Earl Boykins

SG Wade, Raja Bell

SF James, Mike Miller, Desean Butler

PF Bosh, Brian Cardinal, Jarvis Varnado

C Joel Anthony, Kurt Thomas, Dexter Pittman

If they are spending their final amount of cap room on Mike Miller, I'm curious to see what their bigs will look like.

Chris Paul is up there but probably only if he switches teams.

Because the team he owns is worth about $100+ million more if LeBron is on it. That make sense?

Well I said a few times last night the only things the Cavs had going for them now was Joe Tait and Brian Windhorst. I guess I forgot about Dan Gilbert...make that three things. Everything he said wasn't perfect or even right, but the city and fans took the first big shot of the match. People can burn or say whatever they want, Lebron did. Gilbert's voice will be heard and I'm glad he stood up for us. Some people don't get it and that's fine.

Is the mike miller signing official??

Lebron is running the point when the big 3 is on the floor with miller. He might average a triple double. If he does, and the heat win games, he's MVP again.

I'm curious to who th bigs are going to be as well. Pat Riley should run for president in 2012.

WTF?
:football:
It's true. Just call them like I see them.
That's gotta be one of the dumbest things said in a thread where Goggins has 200 posts. Congrats.
:lmao: Did LHUCKS hack his user ID?

This whole situation was odd as Bulls fan. I knew the Bulls had a small chance of getting James. I also knew that the Bulls were by far the best situation for any of the free agents. I should have trusted my instincts and not worried about it.

Now, this is Rose's team and assuming the health of others, this team will be as good as he is. I believe this is the year it become obvious why he is so hyped.

:football: Like I said a couple posts ago, he really needed to give it a day or 2 before he issued a response. I understand he is irate, and Lebron handled his departure about as unprofessionally as one could, but he is the team owner. He should know better.

You haven't watched the knicks for a decade. This team is an improvement of the crap put out for the last decade.

Did anyone catch when LeBron was asked about who would take the final shot to win the game, he actually mentioned Mario Chalmers and Joel Anthony as possibly getting the ball? :goodposting:

You're talking about two different things. Improvement doesn't mean as good as if they had LeBron.

At least Bosh can guarcd guys 1 on 1, but James is going to have to crash the boards a bunch. It will be interesting to see how they play. I could see them being anywhere from the #1 seed in the East and crushing everyone to the #4 seed behind Orlando, Boston, and Chicago. Assuming there is a 2011 and there are such things as MLEs, that's when they'll get really good. I also think they'll be able to sign 2-3 veterans for their minimum, so that may not be the final roster and I'm guessing Scheyer has a decent shot to makew the roster as their Kerr.

List in all of this spectacle is the fact that there should be some really go od basketball played next season. Lakers, celtics, heat, bulls, thunder, and magic are all going to be fun to watch.

Yeah, but that is what I was looking for. I really didn't think Lebron would join us given how bad the team has been.

I remember the shot he hit in the NC game, but on a team with Wade and LeBron, ain't no damn way he's getting within 10 feet of the ball when the game is on the line.ETA: I do love the image of the big 3 standing around the perimeter to allow Joel Anthony to operate in the post for the final shot.

The Mike Miller signing would be fantastic. 48 % shooter from 3, and he will get a ton of open looks.I can't see Kurt Thomas and Raja Bell playing for the minimum.

Here are some guys I think they should target with a deal at or lose to the vet minimum contract(with last years salary in parentheses):

Guard:

Eddie House (2,932,708) - Playoff tested, he can shoot the 3 and give you 15 minutes a game

Flip Murray (1,990,000) - He can shoot the ball from outside

Marquis Daniels (1,990,000) - He always seems to be banged up, but he is a solid rotation guy when healthy

Jason Williams (825,497) - Solid vet, would probably be my # 1 target to play point guard with the 2nd team.

Forward:

Jarvis Hayes (2,062,800) - Solid vet, can play some D, and also pretty solid at 3 point shooting.

Ike Diogu (825,497)

James Singleton (1,030,189)

Center:

Joel Anthony (825,497) - This should be a priority

Kwame Brown

The funny thing is, as assembled right now, MIA has the same problems CLE had. There isn't anyone to guard Rondo (though Chalmers is a noted improvement over Mo Williams), and there isn't anyone to guard Dwight Howard. When BOS traded for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, they were able to establish a team culture with an emphasis on defensive effort and excellence, led by Garnett on the court and Tom Thibodeau on the bench. They key with Miami Thrice will be establishing a similar culture.
Won't fantastic offensive production mask any modest defensive problems? I just don't see any team being able to effectively defend these guys.

CLE fans are understandably hurt by LeBron's departure. But jersey burning and vilifying him??? That's silly, but fans are often irrational. I know I have been over some events.

I hope in the near future CLE fans will be able to look back and be thankful for the seven great years LBJ gave them. He single handedly made that team relevant in recent years.

Lakers should be able...Kobe on Wade, Artest/Odom on James with Gasol on Bosh.

:lmao: I honestly believe that only the Lakers have a chance to beat the Heat in a 7 game series. And I'm not at all sure they will. The NBA is all about talent, and the Miami Heat are now the most talented team on the planet.

You're right, he really did "spoil" us.I wonder if in his press conference in Miami he'll tell Heat fans to get ready to be spoiled. Although, maybe he won't have one since he took care of biz last night for the globe.
