David Lee would look like an all-star again. I think with Paul, they would be best suited to look into trades with Ellis. Maybe a Iggy for Ellis swap?Either way, this team would certainly move into the playoffs somewhere behind OKC, LA, SA and Dallas.... probably closer to 5th than 8th. Yeah, the Hornets should accept that offer immediately. Which is why I think it's not being offered. The Clippers would be crazy to make that trade. And Jordan is a FA, so how are they offering him up?

Don't remember seeing that stat in any database (B-R, hoopdata, etc).However team offensive efficiency is points per 100 possessions.You could divided that number by 2 to get a rough idea of how many FGM that would be. I know TS% weights for 3pt, 2pt, and free throws so someone could figure out how to use that to get the actual shots maybe? For example last year the Warriors according to hoopdata had a OffEff of 105.5.105.5/2 = 52.75 2 point possessions.So the Dubs scored on roughly 52.75% of their possessions.The Nuggets were the highest at 109.5 per 100 possessions. So they scored on roughly 54.5% of their possessions.The Bucks were the lowest at 99 per 100 possessions. So they scored on roughly 49.5% of their possessions. Hoopdata also supplies 3 point rates (3PTA/FGA) so maybe someone smarter than me can figure out how to figure out the exact possessions scored.

I figured thats what will happen and I cant blame the Magic....tough to deal a top 5 player for under market value...problem is that by doing this Otis is taking a high risk that he gets zero if he walks. Yes he'll be under the cap in a few years but now is his chance to get some picks and a solid player in exchange. Tough call but from what I have seen I dont think hes staying and would sell to the highest bidder.

That was always the "loophole" in all this. All the big 3 make significantly more in the long haul if they pick up their player option after this year and then sign a max deal the next year...especially if they want to eventually move on.

I'm not too sure about that. Toronto is one of the youngest teams in the league and reading a Raptors blog, the guy estimates 28 practices this year. Couple that with shortened training camps and it doesn't look good. A team like the Lakers with a lot of vets who've played together for years should have a very large advantage. Guess there is +/- on both sides. Young legs vs Old legs. Lack of practice vs Veteran savy.

I think the recovery time will outweigh savvy. It's no help knowing what you should do if your body can't actually do it. And the Lakers are a bad example - at the very least they'll be learning a new system under a whole new coaching staff with no training camp + 5 game suspension for Bynum to start the year (he's missing time and he's not even injured yet -awesome), at worst they'll also be dealing with significant roster changes if they pull off one of these deals. I think the Lakers are going to struggle to get it together early, if not for the entire season.

???I usually give my take on trades that others have reported, but again I try to weed out the BS rumors and discuss the ones that actually make some sense.
