Great example of "Mamba time" tonight Tommy?
He made shots that either tied the game or got a lead. We were here the whole time watching it. Where were you?
I was watching it. Did he make any shots in the 4th?
You were watching it. Why ask?
I didn't exactly keep score for myself. He was absolutely terrible though, I can assure you of that.
So you didn't watch the game. You don't have to front. Just admit you didn't watch the game.
I am not sure where you are headed with this. They should turn the reigns over to Nash. The few P&R they ran looked 100x better than the wing Kobe iso plays.

I was calling out FFA Laker troll. Who says the Lakers should turn the team over to Nash.

The Lakers are as close to the worst record in the west as they are to the 8th playoff spot. Hollinger's Playoff Odds now has them at a 19.3% chance of making the playoffs.I'm still hoping the Nuggets can land Gasol somehow and get rid of McGee. I can't imagine what it was like watching that dude every night a couple seasons ago. For every one great game (like the two or three against the Lakers last year in the playoffs that landed him this $10M/yr contract) he has three or four games full of amazingly idiotic plays.

Really? Here are Kobe's makes and the score.1st Quarter2 pointer Bulls 17 Lakers 17.2 pointer Bulls 27 Lakers 20.2nd Quarter2 pointer Bulls 40 Lakers 362 pointer Bulls 42 Lakers 383rd Quarter2 pointer Bulls 59 Lakers 54Free throw Bulls 59 Lakers 55Free throw Bulls 67 Lakers 652 pointer Lakers 69 Bulls 674th Quarter2 pointer Bulls 73 Lakers 71So he made 1 1st quarter shot to tie the game, and 1 3rd quarter shot to give the Lakers the lead out of 7 makes. What game were you watching?

Actually I watched it twice. Saw Bryant set up Nash for a couple of scores, Howard make some stupid fouls, etc. I left Laker Sportsnet on while working on my DAW for several hours. I could probably recite Stu Lantz's game anaylsis in my sleep. Got anything else?

Kobe 7:22. Who needs to read Bible verses when you worship that? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: "I actually came up with the concept of Hero Ball" - Skrubs at the water cooler.

Howard has been useless the past 2 games too. He lets the opposition and refs get in his head. It's like his game is completely dissapeared. Gasol is just lost out there, and D'Antoni, D'Antoni, seems to have screwed his head the wrong way. Jackson could tweak Gasol's head to where he could actually get something out of him, even subtly calling him soft in the media. D'Antoni seems to blame Gasol for his poor coaching.

I'm not saying this is likely to happen but if Howard signed with Brooklyn next year for the minimum or for whatever exception the Nets have, would he be eligible for a max contract the following year for an amount near what his Laker max would be?

I dunno. The Laker payroll is at 90 million right now. If Howard is looking at a max contract from LA, there is a whole lotta manuvering to do that. Besides finding yet another coach.

He'd have to play 3 years with them with small raises before being able to get a max contract in the fourth year.

Thanks. 0% chance of that happening then.

The Lakers could work out a sign and trade or even a mid season trade this year for Brook Lopez though.

Howard and Metta for Lopez and Wallace :loco:

this drummer guy makes the thread nearly unreadable at times...why the hell did he show up?In other news:Mavs take 5 of 6, only loss on the road, and Dirk is getting back into the swing of things. Only 3 games out of the playoffs, and with Hollinger odds better than the Lakers have got. All that from our previous sub-1.0% chances...Still waiting to see what the Bank of Cuban will bring. There's, what, 30 days until the trade deadline? I would love to see something that clears enough cap to build a Dirk-Smith-Howard core in FA, but it seems so incredibly unlikely as to not be worth bringing up.I can't decide if I would prefer the lotto or the playoffs at this point. I think we could do some damage in the playoffs if we gel well enough over the final couple months, Dirk reintegrated, and draw someone like OKC, who we seem to play tight all the time.

It's America. Plus the forum says "Free for All". This thread has a sub-title that has a bit of credit to me. So Serious Business is in full effect. You didn't get the memo today?

Lopez and Humphries for Howard and Blake is more likely, I would think.I doubt the Lakers would take on 4 years of Gerald Wallace. Lopez is already under contract for 4 years. Humphries is only signed for 2. That would give them Lopez at C and a Hump/Earl Clark PF rotation. They could then move Gasol.

Miguel Angel Paniagua: Rumor with some legs from Charlotte- DeSagana Diop, Ben Gordon and a draft pick for Pau Gasol. That is lik the worst rumor ever. Lakers cant be anywhere close to that desperate yet.

Steve Nash still giving the Suns assists...if the Lakers miss the playoffs and get a lottery pick the Suns get it. Not that I have high hopes for it, PHX mgmt is completely clueless. Make Isiah Thomas look like a savvy exec.

I didn't realize that the Pacers are #1 in DE this year. They're really doing some strong things in terms of taking away shots in close and from the arc, and conceding long 2's.

Would most certainly need to have a 1st rounder from Charlotte in there. Or MKG. Or MKG and a pick. Thats a terrible rumor. How about this one: Toney Douglass, Patrick Patterson, and Donuts for J-Smooth.

Horrible. Stop.I don't see any upside to Charlotte trading a first rounder* for a guy who has a year and a half left in your contract, and doesn't really get you anywhere long-term. * - Keep in mind that the time-bomb is ticking on Charlotte's obligation to Chicago. Their pick will be lotto protected this year, Top 10 in 2014, and Top 8 in 2015. If the pick defers all the way until 2016, Chicago gets it unprotected.

I think the Lakers would rather have the future cap space than an overpaid Lopez.

I think the Bobcats have a Blazers pick or something.

This is egregious even by your standards. I don't think that rumor is all that bad. Gasol doesn't exactly have a ton of trade value right now. Plus shedding the salary is a huge part of this for the Lakers. Gordon helps their bench, they get an asset in the draft pick, and they retain some flexibility as far as the roster is concerned going forward. If Laker fans are hoping for some blockbuster that allows them to compete with the elite teams in the West I think they will be disappointed. Even the rich teams like the Lakers are going to try and avoid the tax now if at all possible.

Charlotte will get Portland's 1st Round pick this year unless it falls between 1st and 12th. If not, then it defers to 2014-15 (also top-12 protected) or 2016 (unprotected).

Lopez is playing the best ball of his career right now, 19ppg, 7 rpg, 2 blocks all in less than 30 mpg and a 25 PER (5th in the NBA). Well worth the $13 million or whatever he is making this season. Hes been by far the best player on a team that is 25 and 16. I would even argue that he has been significantly more productive than Howard this year and hes three years younger.
