Asik filling it up.
when you extend your arm like durant did, its a charge. That ain't a charge. When did the NBA start paying NCAA refs?

Went back and rewatched it, he didn't extend his arms and Garcia wasn't set. Durant does push off but that wasn't the case there. Why not send Asik in to the crowd, running away from the defense, as soon as the ball is inbounded.
Kenyon Martin (5 fouls in 13 minutes) post-game interview.Honestly, I don't think even Mark Jackson believes they are dirty fouls. Most people don't agree with him because he is wrong. A baseline view shows it was a shoulder bump and not a trip.Did you read the comments in that article? I think pretty much most people agree with you. It's a good sound bite and taking point, so it's gotten plenty of attention but if you listen... most people don't agree with Mark Jackson's comments taken at face value.Kev4029 said:The only play that was even intentional was the trip and all it was was a trip, and it was nothing that you wouldn't see on a half dozen screens a game. I'm not even sure I would say they played him especially physical and it was lightyears away from dirty. Kenyon Martin (5 fouls in 13 minutes) post-game interview.
Told his Knicks teammates to wear all black for the Celtics funeral tonight. Then doesn't want any part of it post-game after it completely backfired.
Classic.
Or you get three FT attempts to make two would be nice.Did I hear incorrectly or is the NBA thinking about getting rid of that intentional off-the-ball fouling? PLEASE GOD, make it so!

His usage is sitting at 39%... must be a record or damn close. Kobe would be proud.Melo has so many shot attempts that even though he is shooting 39% from the floor he is leading the post season in shots made. Through 5 games he has 134 shot attempts with only 6 assists. I've been something of a Melo apologist for his entire career, but he is an awful post season player.
Honestly, I'm a little surprised that Iverson wasn't higher in their finals run, in fact, he didn't even have the highest usage in the playoffs that year, Karl Malone did and McGrady was right behind him. That season had 3 of the top 10 highest post season usage percentages ever. His usage is sitting at 39%... must be a record or damn close. ETA: Yup, it is the highest usage rate ever in the NBA.
I thought the Smush Parker season would have been higher as well.Honestly, I'm a little surprised that Iverson wasn't higher in their finals run, in fact, he didn't even have the highest usage in the playoffs that year, Karl Malone did and McGrady was right behind him. Or, how about this: If team A commits an intentional off-the-ball foul, the coach of team B gets to choose any of his 5 players who were on the floor at the time, to go to the line to shoot the free throws.Or you get three FT attempts to make two would be nice.Did I hear incorrectly or is the NBA thinking about getting rid of that intentional off-the-ball fouling? How about we leave it as is and not reward poor free throw shooters?Or, how about this: If team A commits an intentional off-the-ball foul, the coach of team B gets to choose any of his 5 players who were on the floor at the time, to go to the line to shoot the free throws.Or you get three FT attempts to make two would be nice.Did I hear incorrectly or is the NBA thinking about getting rid of that intentional off-the-ball fouling? Because it's terrible to watch. Then we need to get rid of timeouts in the last two minutes as well.Because it's terrible to watch. I know Presti and the rest of the front office get a lot of love from the basketball nerds, but don't most of them also consider Brooks to be pretty terrible?I still can't believe the Thunder stuck with that strategy even after getting the lead down to six with four minutes left. There's plenty of time left at that point, how about you just play some defense instead? Not to mention that Asik wasn't missing enough of them for it to be worthwhile.
You'll get no argument for me. I'd also love it if they eliminated TV timeouts. I'd prefer to eliminate as many stoppages as possible. Then we need to get rid of timeouts in the last two minutes as well. I know that factor can't be the be-all and end-all but I believe it's at leasBecause it's terrible to watch. That has to count for something.
Yes, a lot of really smart people are of the opinion that Brooks isn't a great coach and that a lot of the Thunder's success is in spite of him. I don't know how you can get rid of a guy who has won so many games over the past few years but I don't think any Thunder fans would be very upset if the team decided to go in a different direction. His overall tactical acumen seems to be lacking, ahd his lineup decisions get killed all the time.I know Presti and the rest of the front office get a lot of love from the basketball nerds, but don't most of them also consider Brooks to be pretty terrible?I still can't believe the Thunder stuck with that strategy even after getting the lead down to six with four minutes left. I guess that might be the case but it seems kinda tough to fire him after losing one of his best players in a series they looked like they were gonna sweep. Then add in the fact the other team's best player used to be on his team and all of a sudden, his roster doesn't look so good. Is the Thunder roster that much better than the Rockets at this point?Yes, a lot of really smart people are of the opinion that Brooks isn't a great coach and that a lot of the Thunder's success is in spite of him. Yeah, I was speaking more generally about how Brooks is perceived, not wondering if he might get fired. I think people often question some of his tactical decisions. For example, fouling a 56% free throw shooter with plenty of time left in the game. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense from a points-per-possession standpoint. It makes more sense if you're doing it as a desperation move down 8 with a minute left on the clock, but that wasn't the case.I guess that might be the case but it seems kinda tough to fire him after losing one of his best players in a series they looked like they were gonna sweep. I don't think its his "fault" if they lose this series and I would agree that the Thunder roster is not that much better (if at all) than the Rockets' roster right now. Doesn't really have anything to do with the last few games specifically, moreso just his total body of work since he's been the coach.I guess that might be the case but it seems kinda tough to fire him after losing one of his best players in a series they looked like they were gonna sweep. Love SWC!I'm sure that is the case and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a ploy to get the refs to look at the things more closely and also puts the attention on him and the Nugs and takes pressure off of his team.I heard Jackson interviewed on the Dan Patrick show today and he said he thought the trip was a dirty play - only the trip though, nothing else.Honestly, I don't think even Mark Jackson believes they are dirty fouls. Most people don't agree with him because he is wrong. They just randomly drop Charlotte in there though as well. Him and Jordan together again?Phil Jackson as Raptor's president?
MLSE got a new president and is making a strong push for him. Could they finally land a competent front office person?

Yeah I don't get this. If I want to build a great plane, I don't hire a pilot who's been really good at flying awesome planes that other people built. I want to hire a great engineer.Do we know Phil Jackson is a competent front office person?Phil Jackson as Raptor's president?
