Believe me, I tried. But he can't be traded for a while.Even when Houston does not have him, the specter of Scola somehow manages to haunt another Krazy Abetm trade proposal. I'm suprised you didn't manage to work Martin into this trade.
Yeah, I probably should have left that out. He's pretty poor outside of playing man D though the Pistons were better with him on the floor this year. Not totally unexpected for a young big. IMO his floor is something like Al Jefferson.I like Monroe but he can't defend
I like Aldridge better than Monroe not factoring in contract. Monroe is a better passer, but Aldridge is a more complete scorer and that carries more weight. Then you get on the defensive end and while LA isn't a great defender, he's adequate compared to Monroe who is a terrible PnR defender in a PnR league due to his limited athleticism.Yeah, I probably should have left that out. Pretty sure the Heat would insist on Scola being included.
Monroe can't defend. In fact, he's not a bad defender...he's a terrible one. It's the big reason they're considering moving him.I'm pretty high on Monroe and think he is the best player in that entire package. A 23 year old big already averaging 15/10, can pass, rebound and defend. If he improves his scoring efficiency he's one of the best bigs in the league. Lin is useless so it is essentially Anderson + picks for Monroe. Anderson is a very good complimentary player but Monroe could develop into a franchise guy. If you think you can land a high lotto pick for next year, maybe you do it but that'd be a big gamble IMO.I used them because don't they need a forward who can shoot (Anderson) and a point guard better than Knight (Lin if they think so not saying I do please don't yell at me)? Maybe a bunch of picks come their way?Bad deal for the Pistons IMO.Gordon and Greg Monroe to the Blazers
Aldridge to the Rockets
Asik, Jones, and Villanueva (expiring) to the Pelicans
Lin and Ryan Anderson to the Pistons
And like, a pick or two going Detroit's way as well.
To start with, Monroe >> Aldridge. And of course Lin is terrible.
Right now it would be tough to argue that Monroe is better but when you factor in that Monroe (22) is improving and Aldridge (28) is peaking, Monroe is the player for Detroit IMO.I like Aldridge better than Monroe not factoring in contract. Monroe is a better passer, but Aldridge is a more complete scorer and that carries more weight. What's wrong with it??Just so you people know I'm not nuts, there are some on the Celtics board acting like Wallace for Asik is a fair deal for Houston.
Boston wouldn't do that. No way. What's wrong with it??Parsons/AsikJust so you people know I'm not nuts, there are some on the Celtics board acting like Wallace for Asik is a fair deal for Houston.

White is already gone . . .Actually, I was trying to be humorous but I think you are right. "No thanks, but we have a counter. Would you consider taking Rondo off our hands? Just send back Aaron brooks and that Royce white fellow and we will call it even..."

I question just how good Monroe can become. He's fairly polished for a big man on the offensive end. He's lacking a mid-range jumper and his post game is so-so. The mid-range shooting should improve, but I'm of the belief that it's hard for big men to significantly improve their post game in the NBA sort of like how it's hard for an NBA guard to improve his dribbling.Right now it would be tough to argue that Monroe is better but when you factor in that Monroe (22) is improving and Aldridge (28) is peaking, Monroe is the player for Detroit IMO.I like Aldridge better than Monroe not factoring in contract. I'd say you can build around Tim Duncan.Man of Zen said:I don't really know what to make of Aldridge, though I don't blame him or his agent or the Blazers for trying to sell him as a top-tier star type player.
His stats look good on paper, but on the court, he never seems like a difference maker to me. I also don't think there's any wow factor to him that demands a premium for whatever boost he could conceivably bring to the fans or media.
At the same time, he might be the most complete PF package in the league right now, if by "complete" you're willing to accept some element of age. In the sense that you couldn't build around a Tim Duncan. Seems like all the PF's today are old, or a headcase, or undersized, or woefully incomplete as a player.
Mullins to clippers. Nice spelling.

I think he's still good enough, but I'm not sure there's ever been a team that was successful designing its future based around the assumption a 37 y.o. would continue at a high level long enough to see it through. Maybe I'm wrong about that.I'd say you can build around Tim Duncan.Man of Zen said:I don't really know what to make of Aldridge, though I don't blame him or his agent or the Blazers for trying to sell him as a top-tier star type player.

Hopefully that means the end of Andre Miller.Nate Robinson to the Nugs. 2 years/???
ETA: Bi-annual, so it looks like $2M per. Guess his playoff performance didn't fetch him the big payday like some thought.
Isn't Miller signed for next year? Or do you mean that he'll fall to 3rd string?Hopefully that means the end of Andre Miller.Nate Robinson to the Nugs. 2 years/???

The Nuggets might be the worst defensive team in the NBA this year. The only guys they have on their team that are plus defenders are Foye, Gallo (coming off a knee surgery he'll probably be a liability) and Chandler. I see a lot of 115-110 games in their future.
Similarly to the Hickson signing, by itself this is a good signing for a cheap price, but I don't see how Robinson fits with the team. At least the Nuggets have a decent shooting backcourt now with Lawson, Robinson, Foye, Fornier and Hamilton.
Same happened with the Warriors. Loved him on our team, but the Dubs opted to let him go and trade for Jack (a smart choice).Isn't Miller signed for next year? Or do you mean that he'll fall to 3rd string?Hopefully that means the end of Andre Miller.Nate Robinson to the Nugs. 2 years/???

As a Bulls fan, I'm going to miss Nate but it was clear that the Bulls didn't really want him back.

No Shtick - I had a dream last night that Carmelo signed with the Raptors next year in an effort to become an "international brand."Summer League MVP: Jonas Valanciunas

This is probably the best move for now.Henderson, the 12th pick in the 2009 draft, and the Bobcats have yet to agree on a new deal. If the two parties reach an impasse, Henderson could play out a one-year qualifying offer for nearly $4.3 million
This one suprised me since the Thunder and Rockets were both after Miller.Fisher seriously back with the thunder?
Mike miller back to the Grizz.
I applaud you for sticking with the avatar. The west just keeps getting stronger.
