McLemore hasn't exactly lit the league on fire, but he did win rookie of the month and is probably as or more deserving than a couple of guys who made that team. But yeah, it was a bad class.

 
Perkins has been awful this year (which is an improvement) but he shouldn't play a single second against Miami.

Tonight's game did mean a lot. Hyped game with all the eyeballs on it. If Lebron would have won the narrative would be Durant is having an amazing season but we all know who the MVP is. Now the narrative tomorrow will be if we voted today Durant would be MVP. The outcome of that game is going to shade voter thoughts for a while. And yes still a long season to go.

Still not worth Jones and the picks for a few months of Pau. Thunder have enough to win right now as is, I hope they don't make any major moves. They should be playing small more, not less. The lineup that started the second half tonight (Jackson, Thabo, Durant, Jones, Ibaka) was great.

Chances are much better this year with Pau than Perk at the 5. :shrug:

 
I'm not sure that your statement is true, but even if it is, it's still not worth two picks plus Jones. Even if the salaries worked the Thunder would be foolish to trade Jones for Pau straight up.

Perkins is terrible, I think I've said that in this thread dozens of times. Truly awful. But he only plays 20 minutes a game and they don't ask him to do much. Can Pau guard Dwight 1v1? Aldridge? I hope tonight will represent a tipping point for Brooks and he comes to realize that there just isn't a place for Perkins against a lot of teams. As I said earlier he has no business being on the court at all against Miami. The Thunder have a lot of versatility and they should just play small more with Durant and Jones at the 4 and Ibaka, Collison, or Adams at the 5. I think the Thunder are the best team in the league right now, if they make a move this year it should be for some outside shooting. Most of the writers that cover the Thunder don't expect them to do anything at all.

The last 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter in the Thunder v Heat game was really fun to watch, Durant and Lebron was going blow for blow, back and forth. Who can out do the other. Sadly that was really the only good part of the entire game.

I thought the whole game was great. Going down 20-2 with Bosh carrying the load...would the Thunder respond? KD getting a couple quick fouls. I enjoyed the whole thing.

I agree that the Thunder probably won't make a significant move. And I think they'll lose in the Finals, if they make it that far.

I am very impressed with his game and how it is maturing. For the last 2 years people have been criticizing his limited range, poor free throw shooting and lack of defense. He has worked on those and is no longer the one-dimensional player he was. If he continues to improve he is going to be a top 5ish player in the league.

People were giving me guff a page or two ago for having him in a top-10 to 15 ranking across the league. He whines a lot but 23/10 and decent free throw shooting from a power forward makes him pretty viable for that list.

We don't get a lot of chances to watch the Clippers on the east coast. The Clips game in DC was all about Chris Paul schooling John Wall and I barely noticed Griffin. I was really impressed last night. Everything runs through him, and for good reason. He was a little lacking on the defensive end,, but man is he amazing in the post. Passed well out of it to open looks behind the arc, too.

I did notice in the box score that he had a pile of turnovers. Must've been after I fell asleep. Can't we just have a rule where west coast teams hosting east coast teams start at 7 PM local time and east coast teams hosting west coast teams don't start until 7:30 or 8 local? Come on, Silver.

There's an article on ESPN Insider called "GMs think Bulls will sign Melo".

Can someone with Insider access give me a synopsis of this stupidity?

 
FWIW, I know everyone is pu-pu-ing that trade since they assume the matchup in the Finals would be Miami, but Pau would be an upgrade against Indiana, Portland, San Antonio, and potentially Memphis. I doubt they trade for Pau, but I definitely think they could move lesser pieces for someone else.

They'll go after him but actually landing him is another story. Also, I don't think they'd trade Gibson unless they are assured Melo is signing.

Yeah - he got completely hosed.

Boogie and Anthony Davis got hosed in the West, but at least everyone other than Kobe has a good argument.

 
I don't think it's right to say anyone in the West got hosed, there are just too many options. Johnson is a total joke though.

 
Anthony Davis has been dominant, sucks that he didn't make it, would have loved to see him swatting guys throughout the ASG.

I say Joe Johnson- bumped not one but two worthy players, Afflalo and Lowry. He's really the only pick that bothers me. West was just a numbers crunch. I don't know who you bump to make room for Boogie or Anthony Davis. All of the big men in the West are more than deserving. Harden or Parker maybe?

Will be interesting to see who gets Kobe's spot. Gotta think Davis playing at home and having as good a case as anyone.

As others have stated, it's tough to be indignant about any snubs in the west, especially in the front court. Can't put 10 bigs on the roster.
