The SI article right after this happened predicted that. Antitrust suit for putting him in a position where buyers know he as to sell.As I was having dinner with my dad tonight, he told me that he heard on the radio about an hour ago that Donald Sterling will refuse to sell and that he will sue the NBA for antitrust and "devaluing the team". I tried to find confirmation of this on the internet but I can't- the only story I could find is that, according to Forbes, Jim Gray spoke to Sterling yesterday and Sterling indicated that he would not sell. But that story is already a day old.

I'd love to claim clairvoyance but unfortunately its been standard operating procedure over the last month or so. They did it game 4 and about 3-4 times in the last couple weeks of the regular season.wow, you really are clairvoyantAlmost got the 20Raps by 20 tonight![]()
(then they'll blow the 20 point lead and it'll be a tight game)![]()
People are already lining up. It will be a bidding war. And the other owners aren't going to let someone into the club on the cheap. If smart drops to 12 then...something something something. I see him more likely around 6 to the lakers.Latest ESPN mock has the Magic getting Embiid at 3 and Smart at 12. Cappy would be dancing in the strip mall parking lot.
My question to you and other lawyers is this: even if it's a weak case, can Sterling delay the sale simply by making it and suing the NBA? No, but they will pay enough to undo the argument that the nba is driving the price down. It will be a record sale amount for an nba team by a wide margin. So because they are rich they are going to pay more than they have to? That's not how people get rich, guy.Abraham said:agreed. Why would the owners vote to boot? They are pretty much setting a precedent for themselves to get booted later for all the bad stuff we know rich dudes do. Owners son rapes and kills a girl. Take his team. Owner gets caught on some insider trading thing, take his team. To be fair, Wooden never had to deal with salary cap constraints.D'Antoni was not a good coach. But even John Wooden couldn't have won with this years' Lakers team.

Whether the clips are good or not makes no difference. This is LA real-estate and TV market. That's all that matters.CurlyNight said:I think if they sell the Clips now before next season while this thing and the team are hot, they would get $1 billion or more. They really want this guy gone. That along with the Clips being a great team should drive up the price. Everything in LA is more expensive so really don't see the comparison to the Buck's sale.![]()

Happy days are here again! Mike D'Antoni resigns as the Lakers coach. I couldn't be happier!
It's not the Supreme Court. They're not establishing precedent. They can do it on a case by case basis. For however many years the bylaw has been in place they've never exercised the authority. They'll exercise it once and then almost definitely go back to not ever exercising it again. Why would the owners vote to boot? So ... this is going well.I think the Grizzlies have the next best value behind the Raptors just because I don't see any of the other teams having a chance to pull off an upset barring injury.Absolutely. I don't understand why the Thunder and Clippers have the same odds. 76% seems awfully high for the Thunder.Totally agree. I'm gonna play the Raptors and that's probably it.First round series odds, only value I see are the Raptors.
- Heat -2000 over Bobcats +1200 (93% chance of Heat advancing)
- Spurs -675 over Mavs +550 (85% chance of Spurs advancing)
- Pacers -560 over Hawks +480 (83% chance of Pacers advancing)
- Thunder -350 over Grizzlies +300 (76% chance of Thunder advancing)
- Clippers -350 over Warriors +300 (76% chance of Clippers advancing)
- Bulls -190 over Wizards +170 (64% chance of Bulls advancing)
- Rockets -190 over Blazers +170 (64% chance of Rockets advancing)
- Nets -130 over Raptors +110 (54% chance of Nets advancing)
I was hoping the Clippers were gonna be somewhere in the -250 range. Guessing the Bogut injury killed that. Also was hoping the Heat would grab the 1 seed and the Pacers would have to play the Bobcats, Charlotte would have made an attractive heavy underdog there.
Grizz worth a shot maybe?
biggamer3 said:Wow, unreal game. So upset at how lazy Pierce and KG are playing, no effort it seems. Lowry is probably my most hated player in the NBA, he had an incredible game but his flopping is out of control. He almost gets the whistle every time he goes flying so understand why he does that, but as a fan its disgusting to watch. game was tied after the late JJ 3 and Mirza was pressing up on Lowry in the backcourt and Lowry bumped into him and went flying when there was no foul, ref blew the whistle, then next possession down he flopped again on an Anderson drive that should have been a blocking foul. Completely changed the game.
This series is going 7 though, lets go Nets.
It was an emotional game so I didn't want to rub salt and thought maybe I was being a homer but felt the same way. The foul on Teletovic he was riding him the whole way, just because Lowry created the contact doesn't mean Teletovic wasn't sliding and riding him and it wasn't a blocking foul. And with Anderson he did lower his shoulder but not only that if you try to say Lowry flopped on that then how can there be enough contact to warrant a blocking foul...biggamer3 said:Wow, unreal game. Yeah, the guys who leads the league in charges taken is a flopper.
A big "pressing up" on a PG in the back court is going to get called for a foul 90% of the time. Anderson lowered his shoulder and went straight into Lowry (man he was a trainwreck down the stretch). There were plays you could ##### about if you really wanted to, but those weren't them.
This is pretty rich coming from a Brooklyn "fan"![]()
Probably had multiple heart attacks during the game. Nice to pull the win out, but these stretches of complete and utter incompetence that this team goes through at least once a game can be maddening. It was an emotional game so I didn't want to rub salt and thought maybe I was being a homer but felt the same way. Anyways its been a heck of a series much like most of these playoff series. Should be a good finish. Did love seeing sad faced Pierce and KG on the bench at the end. Pierce must have loved being benched for Alan Anderson in the clutch, couldn't have happened to two nicer guys.
