well, i think if Hinkie wants him that bad he'll get him. the fact they had him here in Philly for so long to work out, and they had Wiggins and Dr. J hang out at the lottery picks would make you think it is more then a smokescreen. I like that the Sixers literally called Cle that night to discuss possible trades.

All the Sixers stuff i have been reading all year has been all about Wiggins, so they certainly have me excited for him. the fact that they have researched Exum so thoroughly as well though makes me think they are just thorough.

On a side note, the only teams that i am aware of that have been allowed to see Embid's medicals are the original 2 in Mil and Cle, and now the Sixers who recently were able to get them. I have to think if you are going to draft this guy you would have to see those records right? So is the plan one of these 3 will definitely take him? just seems scary investing a lot in a guy if you couldn't get the chance to check him out more

In really like this deal for Dallas. If the Knicks added dirk and Ellis it's a no brained that Melo would stay. It's New York and it's in the east. But the mavs have taken the only other decent player from the Knicks and brought him to a team with a good shooting guard and a hall of fame power forward. Even as a rockets fan I don't think that's a bad situation for the next two years.

Sure, that was the Sixers original trade and why Cleveland was more interested in Orlando's offer. But if the Sixers offer 3 and 10, I'd consider that greater than 4/12/Afflalo. People said Thad didn't move the needle on trades earlier, so pretty hard to think Afflalo moves the needle that much. Difference between 3/4 is essentially who you want after the big 2 and I've liked what I've seen at 10 a lot more than what is left at 12.

I also would take the Jazz's offer of Favors and 5th overall over Orlando's but then again its the Cavs.

it all depends on how you value the draft. Since it seems like Cle is not the most prepared team, who knows. It would seem they looked at 3 guys, Parker, Embid and Wiggins. so maybe they think the draft has 3 guys who are big time talent, and the drop off from 3 to 4 is big. I certainly don't know, but that would mean the Sixers 3 is much more valuable than the 4 or 5. i would think 10 and 12 are close enough they can be worked with.

But if i am Cle, my whole thought is where is that drop off. Is Exum's potential high enough to make it a top 4 like many suggest, or no? And is it a top 2, or what? What is funny to me is how crazy the news/prognosis is with Embid. You have some Dr.'s say it is nothing and Embid will be fine with proper rest, and 10 minutes later you get a report from another expert saying it is chronic and no hope for him.

For me, i think the choice for Cle. is obvious. I don't know that team that well, but it seems like everybody thinks the potential for Embid is huge. I would have had every Dr. in the land look at those medical records, and if i think there is a 50% chance he can be 100% i dig around for trades. I take whoever my potential trading partner is, and whoever drafts Embid i trade them the guy i got plus some asset for Embid. So leaving this draft i have Embid, and some addl. picks and maybe a veteran player i can stick in. Easy choice, now if only Cle can get out of their own way they will be fine

He was unhappy in Memphis, Houston and Toronto when he wasn't the man. Last year everyone raved how great of a teammate he was once he was given the reigns.

Lowry, Kobe and no one else arent even sniffing the playoffs in the West. In the East, Toronto is a lock for a playoff spot and is a team full of young and improving players; not a team with a ball hogging cripple eating up half the cap.

Getting out of Calderon's salary is nice, but it's not a back breaker. It's a long-term move, but not a 2014 move. Taking on Chandler seems like the last thing a team would want to do if they want to add some good FA's this off-season. Did anybody think NYK had a prayer of getting out of that contract?

Omer Asik has far more trade value, and nobody's knocking down the door for that contract.

And giving away the 34th pick isn't nothing. It's as good as a 1st round pick in most years.

I think PHI or ORL would both be nuts to make any of those trades.

I really don't think the value of this draft is in the top 7. Most of those guys are risky as hell. It's a great draft because you can get good prospects in the teens.

I'd rather have 2 of the top 12 picks in this draft than the #1.

Then again, I'm not in love with Wiggins, and Vonleh's the guy I'd want to most of those top 7 (him or Parker).

The question is whether the 10 is greater than 12 and Afflalo. For as little value as Young gets on here, people seem enamored with Afflalo.

As far as 10 vs 12, the difference will likely be pretty big at least as mocks go. I'm not in love with McDermott/Stauskas but if you want a chance at them, Randle or Gordon, you better have the #10 pick.
