*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (3 Viewers)

I'm so glad you posted this. My buddy has been telling me all day that Lebron's personal trainer is guaranteeing that James is going to Cleveland. The fact that the guy isn't even claiming to be Lebron's trainer, but just "has partners and clients" telling him this stuff makes it even more hilarious for me. Lebron may end up back in Cleveland, but come on.

I wonder what would be worse for Cleveland fans:

A) Lebron not coming back at all or

B) Lebron signing a 2 year deal, not bringing home a title and then leaving again
I know that trainer. Dude's a friggin clown.

Cleveland is getting set-up yet again for an epic fail. I feel bad for that town right now. It's just cruel. Cruel I tell ya. What a massive ##### tease the media is playing off to the Cleveland fans right now.

If this does turn out to happen....will be the first here to say WOW!!!!!!!!

You gotta believe this is total media ratings event going on right now. People are getting clued to their TV's, sports radio shows etc over all this...un-substantiated nonsense from Lebron's Caddy's second cousin down the street who told Lebron's trainer on twitter he is coming back.

And good old Brian Windhorst (hack of hacks) is reporting it all. LMFAO!!!!
just out of curiosity

is your opinion that James has already made up his mind? Or that he is open to moving but will ultimately decide to go to Miami?
No one knows for certain if Lebrons made up his mind about anything let's be real about that. We are all giving opinions. Some are down right dumb and some based on some rational common sense. I think Gilbert burned that bridge..absolutely blew it up in fact.

I am just supremely confident that Riley get's this done. That IMO why in Gods name would Bosh and Wade opt out if Lebron was not coming back. They met, had lunch and discussed the game plan and it is of my opinion they pretty much know they are all coming back and are working to see who else will be joining them.

Now is it plausible to assume they all opted out to give maximum flexibility and see how the domino's fall? yeah sure. But that is just crazy business to opt out in hopes of terms. I truly believe they opted out knowing they are all coming back.

Is there a hint of doubt? Yeah about 1% of doubt and 99% of confidence Lebron resigns in Miami along with Bosh (we know Wade is retiring here and if Bosh resigns he will too). But with Lebron you just never know right? We have seen crazier things in sports.

So yeah I think they have known since they all left on vacation what is going down. That is why I am coming across snarky to some (I guess) laughing at all the rampant speculation lighting up twitter and ESPN. It is such a lot of BS from BS sources. And the NBA must love this attention. It's great for business. Everyone is talking about the Association.

So yeah I think he has known what he wants to do. But of course what's the harm in having his agent take phone calls. Who cares.
well if he KNOWS what he is going to do this is a narcissistic circus which, imo, makes him look like an ###.

If he knows he is going to Miami and he is talking to teams and leading the media on a wild goose chase because it is fun he learned nothing from the decision, I just think he has grown more than that. That does not mean he will not end up in Miami, but I assume he is legit in his interest in considering other teams.

Who knew the Heat were a McRoberts away from a championship :lmao:
Kind of sad. First it was Lowry. Then Gortat. Then Deng. Then Ariza. Then Williams. Now its 8 points and 4 boards a game of Josh McRoberts.
Wait, who said it was Lowry? The Heat reportedly never called him.
Miami president Pat Riley has been pushing for a sit-down meeting with Lowry
Riles couldn't even get a meeting.
LeBatard said in print what he has been saying in tweets essentially since free agency began.

When Kyle Lowry, a rumored target of the Miami Heat, agreed to a deal to return to the Toronto Raptors, reports called it a swing and a miss for the Heat — except, according to LeBatard, the Heat never got past the preliminary stage, internal discussions, of pursuing Lowry.

In the end, the sides never even met to discuss a potential deal.
Agents leak this kind of stuff on purpose...it's their job to get the most money for their players, does not mean it's true.
Brian Windhorst: The Heat have targeted Kyle Lowry and are seeking a meeting with him today. Also could target Marcin Gortat. Twitter @WindhorstESPN - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/kyle_lowry#sthash.ZO9G1IZO.dpuf

According to lots of other media members, including Windhorst who lil'Heater Todem claimed had all the Heat info, said they were targeting him.

Point is, they struck out on everyone as expected because they had zero money to spend.
Hey ### clown. Windhorst is garbage. Pure nonsense.

I was talking about Ira WInderman. Get your facts straight.

Who knew the Heat were a McRoberts away from a championship :lmao:
They were an Ibaka injury away of winning 3 straight, laffy the laugher.
 i love the confidence you have regarding the outcome of a fictitious finals
I think the Heat would have beat the Thunder too. But I think the Spurs would have beat the Thunder in the WCF even with Ibaka, so doesn't much matter.

Anyway, McRoberts doesn't suck. Bobcats guys will tell you as much. He's a great fit if they bring the Big Three back.
I have no idea what would've happened in either series but if i was a heat fan, i certainly wouldn't be making any guaranteed predictions.
I just thought it was a silly time to mock the Heat after they just made it to 4 straight finals of being a McRoberts away from winning a championship. Not a guarantee, just a comment.
Its never a silly time to mock the heat.

I don't disagree with that sentiment.

I think though the media is making all this crap up. I really do. Lebron has said nothing, Bosh nothing, Wade in silence since game 5 of the Finals. His agent is fielding calls. He is a free agent. So he can have his agent field calls. It never hurts to listen. Same for Bosh. What's the harm. teams are making their push, they would not be doing their jobs if they don't at least make the calls.

I do think though he is 99% on coming back. Just my opinion.

You know what this needs? Decision 2. Double down on the hate. It would be epic to play it up like Cleveland had a chance again only to say "Im going to keep my talents in South Beach."
I can decide if I like this option more or just screwing over Todem. I'm leaning towards the latter.
Glad I can entertain ya T.R.E.
It's incredible. Thx
I'd like to 2nd that. I admire Todems passion and willingness to defend his team. He's single handidly kept me fixated on this thread. I've been F5ing this mother all day.

After a few years living here these people really bring it on themselves. They eat, sleep, breathe sports but the teams blow. They get the slightest sniff at success and the masses all lineup with their dreamland scenarios. It's pretty funny, usually.

i do not think the media is making all this crap up, that is borderline ridiculous to me. They may be guessing and over estimating, but to think this is a group fiction concoted by the media is silly. if they were making all of this up Lebron's agent could shut it down, instead it seems like his agent may be fueling the fire, particularly about the return to Cleveland.

IMO the easy answer is Lebron is simply not sure yet. He may be leaning Miami, but if some other situation looks better he'll go there.

I love the conspiracy theory angle. With that high of a percentage, why not just announce you're coming back? What the hell is he waiting for. Another McRoberts signing to ensure he has the supporting cast he needs. We're talking a 1% chance of him not. It doesn't even count.

I thought the Heat had the most money to spend? It's only been reported the LeBron wants the maximum, we haven't heard he's taking that from Miami. ALL of this information is being leaked from the teams trying to get LeBron...nothing from LeBron, nothing from the Heat. LeBatard has a connection inside the Heat, says they never pursued Lowry. I agree when you put Windhorst and struck out in the same comments, though.

I don't know what's going to happen. I think they'll all stay, I want them to. I'm think it's smarter to watch instead of mock so that I won't have to eat my keyboard.

Danny Granger just signed.

BTW

given the way this thread has gone i never want to hear people saying ESPN is driving lebron hype again. This thread is 90% Lebron and the Heat, and the posters are driving content here not ESPN. The simple truth is right now that is all most people care about...where will lebron go and what will the heat do.

Free agent Danny Granger has agreed to a two-year, $4.2 million deal with the Miami Heat, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Lebron has said that Windhorse could write his life story better than he (Lebron) could.

He's pretty good on LeBron, but not so much on the rest of the league. After the Gortat signing he referred to the Polish Hammer as Nene's backup; Gortat started 80 games for the Wiz last year and Nene has loudly declared his preference for playing PF ever since his Denver days.

They didn't have money to spend on FA's if the "big 3" came back. The mid-level (McRoberts), bi-annual (Granger), and they'll likely just have vet minimums now. Never were they going to get a difference maker (if you can call them that) like Gortat, Lowry, Deng, Ariza, etc. whether they targeted them or not.

Whatever happened to that guy? I know he got hurt, but he went from being an all star to pretty mediocre in a hurry.
Leg injuries took their toll. He has no legs anymore so his jumper is off and his defense fell off a cliff.

NADA. Ever since Lebron came to the Heat this guy has just been making crap up. We can't stand him down here. He is regularly mocked on our local morning sports talk radio shows (we have 4 count them 4 morning sports talk shows one of them is hosted by an ### clown New Yorker who hates every team in Miami Sid Rosenberg...who should just get outta town but he is on his fourth station and this is his last shot but he is a true jerk never ever listen to him anymore). It is quite funny actually.

Whatever relationship he had with Lebron...safe to say it's over. Even if he writes his book...not.

Windhorst is getting his scoop from unknown sources and I am telling you knows nothing about his current free agency status. We are all speculating right?

When you say there's a 99% chance Lebron stays, do you really mean that? Or does that mean something else in Todem speak? B/c to me 99% isn't speculating. So yeah, the rest of us our speculating. I have no clue what hell you're doing.

Just my opinion.
i do not think the media is making all this crap up, that is borderline ridiculous to me.

Again....speculating, the media is purely speculating on sources. Nothing is fact, nothing is known. The Media is creating a circus in regards to Cleveland. Lebron maybe has not given his 100% answer...very true. If you were to tell me about talks with the Clippers, Rockets, Golden State....that sounds plausible. Real teams.

Cleveland is at least 2 years away IMO. Not plausible.

The thought the Heat rolling this lineup out in front of a 2/3 empty Miami arena next year is too delicious to imagine.

DOS MINUTOS <--- how long the fans who do go to the games will actually watch next year.

Would you guys mind finding another reason to bash the Heat besides the McRoberts signing?

####. Hornets lost their 3rd best player today.

LMFAO!!!!

:hifive:

Bosh had nothing to lose by opting out. Wade? Would think he and Miami have an agreement in place regardless of what happens.

For thinking you're such a Lebron expert you really don't seem to get him at all. All this talk about how it's "only" about winning a title seems dubious to me, his wife wants to be back home, his kid is going to be going to his old school in Akron, all his friends and family still live in Ohio.

He's not a partying guy. He's not a night club guy. He's really a homebody. South Beach doesn't have the appeal to him you think it does.

If Gilbert hadn't been such a moron when Lebron left, I think this would already be a done deal back to Cleveland.

I really want to see LeBron go to Cleveland just to watch Todem blow up the internet.
There's so many reasons it would be awesome. Gilbert having to answer questions about the comic sans letter. LeBron having to answer questions about the comic sans letter. Media trying to locate the fans in the jersey-burning clips for interviews. American Airlines Arena going from packed to a wasteland in four months. Pat Riley reaction shots in the stands next season. These. It would all be great. And that's before you get to the on-court stuff, which would also be entertaining.
