Yeah, this is where the lack of a bad contract such as Jarret Jack really hurts Cleveland. If salaries weren't an issue in trades, Minny accepts Wiggins for Klove instantly IMO. Now that they have to add some salary into deal they will have to lose Bennet, Thomspon just for filler purposes and they probably would hate throwing additional assets into deal just to even out salary. If they do have to add in Bennet, Waiters or Tristan then IMO they will demand Deng back from Minny.

Remember that odds to win the title aren't a reflection of who is considered the best team. Being in the East helps tremendously because it reduces the odds of an upset in the early rounds. We saw it last season too- the Heat were the favorites to win the title pretty much throughout the season and most of the postseason even though the Spurs were actually favored by a decent amount once the two teams reached the Finals.

Odds right now are relatively useless with all the uncertainty. Also think some books got caught with LeBron moving so they are keeping the Cavs down a bit until the rosters are finalized. But even then, they'll still likely be favorites because of the East. They have much better odds of making it out of the East so even if their odds of winning straight up are less than 40%, it is still better than the West where Thunder/Spurs are toss up to get to finals. As far as Love, he is under contract already and has a player option for next year. So pretty sure he just opts in and becomes a FA with LeBron in 2 years. Probably costs him a few million next year but keeps his options open.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like the Cavs as favorites even if they do pick up Love, so I agree with your conclusion. Just pointing out the significant difference between being favorite to win the title and being considered the best team due to the imbalance between the conferences the last couple years.

This whole rumor mill is ridiculous. Would be shocked if the Cavs moved Wiggins before he's even had a chance to play with LeBron.

I would be shocked if they didn't... He is the final piece, Wiggins is a rookie. He has averaged 19/12 for his career, last year 26/12. Rebounds and shoots like a rock star. Who cares about 3 years down the road when they can win titles now?

I would be shocked if they didn't... He is the final piece, Wiggins is a rookie. He has averaged 19/12 for his career, last year 26/12. Rebounds and shoots like a rock star. Who cares about 3 years down the road when they can win titles now?

The Cavs defense is going to be horrific if they make that trade, and Love isn't a 26/12 player as the second/third banana on a contender. He's a very good player but people are overrating the synergy here, especially after the Cavs already added a bunch of shooting in Miller and Jones to go along with Kyrie.
