*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (2 Viewers)

hey the bucks won brohans they are looking better than i thought they would so i will take it i wonder if they can make a push for the eight slot i mean they are in the east take that to the bank brohans

Will never ever ever ever understand how Sac lets Thomas2 get out for that money. #### he's worth that money as a backup (and one of the best backups in the league at that).

Suns 3 guard lineup is just lethal. Whatever combo they do between Dragic-Bledsoe-IT2-G.Green. Such an unselfish team.

And Dagger. Lakers go to 0 for the season. Ball movement's a hell of a thing...

Lakers have a pretty winnable game on Sunday (long layoff until then), home against Charlotte. After that, on the road to Memphis, then the next night in New Orleans. Then home games against San Antonio, Golden State, and then a three-game roadie with ATL, HOU, and DAL. 0-13 possible?

Of course, what are the real goals this year, not lose the pick to Phoenix? Get Kobe closer to the scoring title?

IT2 wouldn't come back to the Kings to be a backup given his history there. I agree he's fantastic as a third guard.

I want to take exception to that notion, but it's correct. Lakers should have the champagne ready in the locker room Sunday to celebrate that elusive first win of the season. Hornets are a dumpster fire right now.

Rockets starting off really well. It's early, but the drop off from Parsons to Ariza is only quantifiable in terms of salary. Ariza has been a perfect fit so far.

harden has been shooting awful and is still third in the league in scoring. Canaan and the euro have been excellent. They have enough depth surprisingly that even Donuts and Daniels are having trouble getting in games.

Bucks have the 3rd best defense so far in points per possession. Too bad they can't play the Sixers, Pacers and Hornets the whole season.

Mentioned him in the BTTF thread but for those of you who do fantasy, Garrett Temple is the Wizard to pick up on the waiver wire. He's replaced Beal in the starting lineup and has a revamped, confident jumper. Well positioned to take advantage of Wall's unique ability to create open corner three looks. Should continue to clock 12-13 points and a couple threes per game until Beal returns, and after that he should still get 15 minutes a game.

Was at the game last night...they looked really good on defense. Heat had some serious foul trouble in the first half. Whistles were everywhere.

Harden is being treated like a superstar in getting to the line. A couple of star like calls last night but nothing I did not expect. He still sucks on defense.

Heat turned it over a tad too much and that third quarter run by the Rockets was what did them in overall.

Still encouraged by how the Heat have started the season overall though. Bosh is going to be a beast this season. Rockets look very good though and are improved defensively.

I am surprised you did not at least respond to my bet offer.....you would have won going away. Heat in Charlotte tonight!

Did anyone read Windhorst's article on ESPN.com today? So now Lebron is taking a passive/aggressive approach early in the season? Trying to teach Irving and Waiters that what they did last season won't work if they want to win a title. Is this guy for real? Lebron losing on purpose...now I have heard it all. Lebron was a facilitator on the Heat. I think is wants Irving to be the facilitator on this team. So Lebron is going through an adjustment of not having the ball in his hands all the time. And the Cavs need to figure out how to get Lebron going without the ball in his hands at all times.

All I see is a bunch of guys standing around on offense, no ball movement and Irving and Waiters went into chuck mode in the second half. It's going to take 20-30 games to make any kind of determination of what the Cavs will be this season. But so far...Blatt? Not impressed. At all. That might be a ticking time bomb.

:lmao: at ticking time bomb. Way too early for that nonsense. Also, "losing on purpose" is a stretch to say the least. The article says he's taking a more passive approach and the long view, which is totally different from saying he's losing on purpose.

Anyway, I don't remember that much about those early Cavs teams but I don't know if LeBron has ever had to deal with a defender at a key position as terrible as Kyrie Irving. The lack of rim protection behind him makes it even worse- Rose, Lowry and Wall have to be licking their chops watching the Cavs on that end. That has to be their greatest concern. LeBron can guard the PG in key games and the playoffs but that would probably take a lot out of him at the other end. They have to find another option for on ball defense. He's probably letting Irving and Waiters figure that out for themselves.

Blatt and Kyrie have massive adjustments to make this year. I'll reserve judgement until later in the season, maybe next season for Blatt. Imagine taking on a new team, with many new (major) pieces and leftover youth, in a foreign league. Was he always stacked with dominant teams overseas? All you hear is the guy knows his basketball. Getting through the league a couple times is probably just as important as anything with him.

Maybe they need to go through a good cry in the locker room together.

Can't wait for the Clippers/Warriors game tonight. Those teams really hate each other. Curious to see if it will still be the same since the Warriors changed coaches.

Either way, it should be a fun game. Blake Griffin always gets assaulted by the Warriors bigs.

On behalf of the the NBA, ESPN and the Washington Wizards I'd like to apologize for the 150 minutes of basketball between two teams playing the second of back-to-backs in front of a lifeless midweek crowd that will precede it. They really couldn't have chosen a worse game for the first Wiz regular season national TV appearance in years.

Todem schtick aside, Lebron has definitely looked off for whatever reason.

It may be early....but the Heat never looked this bad even at this stage. Even on our 9-8 start.

What this article inferred was Lebron checked out..and is basically letting his teammates fail right now so they will eventually come around to see it his way (team ball) at some point, instead of trying to take over the game which is what Lebron typically does when the situation calls for it. And like I said a while ago...given the chance Irving and yes Waiters are chuckers. Not Kobe proportions....but yes..chuckers. Waiters and Irving can't play without the ball in their hands.

Can Love play without the ball in his hands?

Sacrifice. The Heat fully understood that concept. Let's see if the Cavs will eventually ever get that concept. If they don't...well you know where I am going with this.

I found it interesting yet absurd at the same time.

It's early...I get it. But it looks bad.

Oh my what?

Windhorst inferring Lebron was quitting to make a point is absurd. It really is. If you think Cleveland looks like they will get a handle of this soon. Come on. They looked awful last night against an opponent that has stumbled out of the gates themselves.

Lebron is the man no doubt but I do not recognize this guy wearing #23 right now on the Cavs. It's a matter of the other guys buying in and understanding what it really takes to win titles. They don't have a clue yet. It will take a while...more than half a season. This is not a title contender this year. Don't see it at all and again, I know..it's early. By mid season Cavs fans will still say..."hey it's early". I am enjoying this crap. I had to hear it all in Miami's first year.

Took me 30 seconds to find this 16 point home loss to a team that would fire their head coach midseason and end the season with 37 wins.
Wade was :moneybag: in that one.
You'd expect that from the guy who had been with the Heat and Riley his entire career. He "got it" from Day 1, unlike these silly ballhogging guards in Cleveland.

That is exactly what I was doing watching the second half of that game last night. An abortion.

Any way to start a secret NBA thread that Todem doesn't know about
I can't believe how damn condescending some of you can be.

It's pretty disappointing. I get you may think my opinions on this sport are nuts....but believe it or not I have been watching this game probably as long as all of you and understand the game quite well. You may not agree with some of my opinions but ### #### people...do you have to be so freaking rude about it? It's not like I am a Johnny come lately in this community.

But.....if you really can't stand reading my posts. Please..put me on ignore because I have plenty on my ignore list. It's a beautiful feature. If not...give me a break. It could be worse. I could be a flat out #######....which you know I am not.

It's just a little much, is all Wizards fans hate the Cavs more than anyone. We're busting out stuff like this at the moment. And even I think you're being a little over the top.

You seem like a good dude Todem and I appreciate your insight.

But do you have to use so many cuss words?
