Mavs game was amazing. Monta Ellis was amazing.

Best thing ever that the Warriors sent him to the dumpster fire of a basketball team that was Milwaukee so that he could opt out, then take less money to play for a real team with a real coach in Dallas.

As an aside: I can't seem to figure out when it is ok to get a defender in the air and then jump into him and when it isn't. Seems totally arbitrary when there are calls and when there are not.

It's ridiculous. There's such a simple fix, too- verticality. If you pump-fake and the defender leaves his feet, you are only permitted to jump straight up to shoot and absorb the contact. Otherwise it's a no-call.

That's crazy. The defender isn't entitled to any position he wants.

To hear both sides, the Warriors official Twitter feed, Curry, Barbosa, and Speights all used "Dubs" in tweets last night.

Players, print media, and local sports host ALL use Dubs so it's accepted amongst all those who take interest in the Warriors.

To be honest, I have purposely been over using "Dubs" because it annoys a bunch of you.

Dubs would at least make sense for the Wizards, since it's actually in their logo. It doesn't distinguish the Warriors meaningfully, since they're not the only W team, nor even the team most closely associated with the letter W. "Golden State" is tragic enough already as a location. The logo's a bridge. Franchise is one giant identity crisis.

Just be the Warriors and be happy with it.

2) In both cases (and most of the above) it's simply using a shortened version of one syllable of the name. He's been a 3 point specialist most of his career who couldn't shoot especially well and didn't offer anything else. I would chalk up his hot start to small sample sizes.

Sad I've been busy all day and haven't had a chance to spend some time in one of my favorite annual threads, but let me say that as a Warriors fan, this proposed Amare trade has me seriously considering crashing a bus full of C-4 into the Coliseum. The Redick Curry pick is miserable, but this would be far, far worse.

And the Knicks loving Stephen Curry makes no sense. Nate Robinson is/will be a better player than Curry. I understand Flynn or Rubio as a pure PG, but the short guard who can score first and dish second is already filled on the team.

Curry = Jodie Meeks....only 34 spots higher. He will get physically abused in the NBA.
