*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (5 Viewers)

@WojYahooNBA: 76er will acquire Nets' Andrei Kirilenko, a 2020 second rounder, right to swap 2018 seconds and cash for Brandon Davies, sources tell Yahoo.

Sixers will waive AK apparently

Good thing the Knicks got a discount

Anthony, according to sources, used another expletive in telling Hardaway he was going to beat him up when they got into the locker room after the game.

...

Several Knicks, in addition to Hardaway, are at odds with Anthony and believe he is not playing team basketball. Sources said players voiced their displeasure with Anthony over the weekend, telling him he shoots too much, doesn't move or pass the ball, and plays defense only when he feels like it.

Looks like Phil has his Kobe, now he just needs to find his Shaquille and the championships will start rolling in!

I've seen some bad misses from watching the Wolves so much but I'm not sure I've ever seen someone come up that short on a wide open shot

Still doesn't get them to the minimum payroll, does it?
Gotta think the players are praying they don't hit the floor. Hoopshype has them about $18M under ($38M in salary, floor is $56M). That money would get divided amongst the players on the team. Not sure if it is divided evenly, but that money could double or triple what most of their players are getting paid this year.

Pro rated by contract.

Shaq just tweeted that we'll be seeing the funniest Shaqtin a fool tonight. Any idea who ####ed up the most this week to get that all time award?

How are the Heatles doing
That reminds me: this guy is an idiot. Three East playoff teams under .500 and maybe even two under 40 wins may well be in the cards.
Lowe tweeted that a 50 loss playoff team is conceivable right now. The East this year is going to force the NBA's hand about fixing the current conference-centered playoff system.
I hate to question the legend himself, but that seems pretty unlikely. Setting aside the Big Five (ha!), Miami should end up above 35, right? Jesus, I would hope so. Then you've got a bunch of candidates who all look like they should end up at or above that number too. Milwaukee of course. Boston's only at a -.2.1 differential. Indiana's at -3.6 and they'll get healthier. And ... actually that might be it. Wow. Maybe he's right. Still, someone's gotta win those intraconference games, right?

Carmelo Anthony would reportedly drop the no-trade clause in his newly signed five-year, $125 million contract if Phil Jackson could strike a deal with a team he'd be interested in joining.

"He thought things would be better than this, but he still wants to stick it out for now," a source said. "He trusts Phil, but I think he’s afraid of Phil." This Knicks squad is currently on pace to be the worst Knicks team in franchise history, and a lot of the Knicks players (Anthony included) have struggled with learning the triangle offense. However, with Melo dealing with a knee issue, and a nearly untradeable contract, it's extremely unlikely that he will be moved anytime soon.
This should work out fine.

I just can't understand why free agents don't want to go to LA or why Dwight left.
I predict Kobe and the Lakers will agree to a buyout next season.
more likely that kobe and melo are traded. kobe knows the system, the coaches, and it's the right media market for him.
Lol. Kobe isn't going to go play on that #### team.
i don't see a buyout for kobe in the cards. the lakers aren't going to get any better this or next year. he might *could* believe that he needs phil, the triangle and fisher. the depleted ranks of the East make it an easier, more compelling story of resurrection.

i put the likelihood of this happening at about 3%.

Raps at Cavs good game!
Ruined by having to listen to the Cavs broadcast crew :X

2nd worst in the league.
Who is worse?

Austin Carr is just terrible. I don't understand how Clevelanders tolerate him. I don't even mind the over the top homerism that much- RSN broadcasts are for local fans, it's OK to cater to that audience. It's that he's so useless and grating. He doesn't even try to offer insight, he just repeats whatever the play by play guy described and deploys a silly catch phrase to make it "colorful."
Tommy Heinsohn and the other guy in Boston. Just horrific.
I refuse to accept that Drexler and the HOU crew isnt in the bottom 3. I just don't want to live in that world.
Who do people consider the best ones? Nets, obviously. Not sure about others.
NO: Joel Meyers/David Wesley (probably my favorite)Philly: Zumoff/Malik Rose

Chicago: Neil Funk/Stacey King

Brooklyn: Ian Eagle/Fratello

Utah: Craig Bolerjack/Matt Harpring

OKC: Brian Davis/Michael Cage

PHX: Steve Albert/Eddie Johnson

SA: Bill Land/Sean Elliot

And yes I used wikipedia to look up some of the names.
Brian Davis is terrible GB. It used to really annoy me when Kevin Calabro would take a night off and Davis would fill in. Clearly biased, but Calabro is the best sportscaster of all time.

Also kinda breaks my heart a little that Michael Cage does games for the traitors.
