*NBA THREAD* Abe will be missed (1 Viewer)

Are you guys all doing Daily Fantasy Games?
I gave it a try last year because I had some success with football, I lost like $50 over a few days and decided to stick to football.
I like the daily NBA. I find it way easier than NFL for some reason.
Fantasy Baseball: hardcore

Fantasy Football: hardcore

Fantasy Basketball: That's a thing?

I know nothing about basketball, my little brother does it, and was doing well, he was just doing it wrong. He was entering a bunch of tournaments, and was always in the top 30%, cashing enough to be in the black, but barely.

I take his plays, and do 50/50s, some triple ups, and a few tourneys for fun.

9 plays last night in 50/50, double ups, triple ups, but mostly 50/50. Cashed in all but one. Wagered 45, won 85.

And it's every day.

9 in a row for the Hawks, going for 10 in Orlando tonight. They've had an easy run of games but 10 in a row would still be impressive.
Wow, what an ending. Fournier with a ridiculous lay-up. Then a couple of seconds later he has Korver drill a three-pointer right in his face. Then Tobias Harris with a last second shot for the win.

Streak ends on a buzzer beater by Orlando. Looking forward to the next couple weeks - get some tough Western Conference teams.

I love watching the Greek Freak

Well it was fun for a few weeks to worry whether or not the Thunder would make the playoffs. Good times. Let's run that grantland basketball hour episode back fellas.

It is going to be at least a decade before the Lakers are relevant again, if they ever become relevant again. The west is stacked with good, young, teams that will keep the Lakers on the periphery for a long time.

Not sure they will be as inept as the Knicks, for as long - but Showtime has reached the end of production.

Congratulations to Kobe Bryant!!! Better than Jordan.

Kareem 38,387

Malone 36,928

Kobe 32,310

It's a great accomplishment, but the true beauty is in the journey- Kobe Bryant

The Lakers will be competing for the NBA title in 2-3 years.

Seems like a specious claim, given that the only players under contract for 16-17 are Young and Randle, assuming his option gets picked up.

The Buss kids are kinda dopey and NBA rules obviously incentivize star players to stay with their own teams. There is really no guarantee of anything, long term. For any team.

Of course not. Which is why it's absurd to suggest that they're a decade away.

Anything can happen. Who the #### knows?

The guy that said they'll be competing for an NBA title in 2-3 years?

If, by "competing", you mean they are still in the NBA, then yes, you are correct. But, if you mean they will be among the top-8 teams in the league, you are willfully blind. This front office will not be able to create a contender from nothing. Kobe is holding them back now, and when he is gone there is even less reason to go to the Lakers.

The Kings just fired Mike Malone. Ty Corbin taking over as interim coach.
What a load of ####### hogwash. They were 9-6 with Cousins (now 2-7 without).

The Kings have fired head coach Mike Malone, with assistant Tyrone Corbin taking over as the interim coach.
Malone reportedly "didn't meet win-loss expectations of ownership," after the Kings fell to 11-13 without DeMarcus Cousins for the past nine games. Corbin will be "afforded [the] chance" to coach the Kings all year, and he's expected to be push the team's pace at the insistence of owner Vivek Ranadive and GM Pete D'Alessandro. In addition, Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Vinny Del Negro may be a long-term candidate for the position.

I may very well turn in my fan card if they hire Vinny D. Ugh.

Can't wait for Vivek to take over coaching next season. It could happen.

I can't wait to hear Vivek give him the "Vinny rocks!!" welcome.

And they're apparently not smart enough to suck as much as they need to.

To win the west (sportsbook.ag):

San Antonio Spurs +250
Golden State Warriors +300
Oklahoma City Thunder +500

Los Angeles Clippers +650
Memphis Grizzlies +800
Dallas Mavericks +1000
Houston Rockets +1200
Portland Blazers +1200
OKC at +500 feels a bit steep for a team who's currently sitting on a losing record and on the bubble of making the playoffs. Getting healthy though... and on a 6 game win streak, so maybe not TOO inflated?

Spurs at +250...

Multiple power ranking / predictive sites have Portland Trailblazers as the overhwhelming 2nd most likely team to win the West. Does this reflect reality? Hollinger / Basketball Reference. Does Portland present value at 12-1?

Chartball is an interesting site....

Maybe they'll crowd source the coaching role. Could have everyone submit a strategy for each game and the guy with the best plan gets to coach that game.
