Today the National Fantasy Football Championship announced a partnership with NBC Sports.

NFFC Announcement

This is really great news for the fantasy football industry. Who knows how big all this may get?

A partnership with a major corporation will also alleviate concerns of non-payment similar to what happened to AFFL.

I'm in.

Sorry FBG'ers - I'm a link moron. http://nffcboards.stats.com/cgi-bin/ultima...=1;t=002845;p=1

Having participated last season, I'm thrilled with this news! Amazing to get a giant like NBC into fantasy sports like they've become.

12 and 14 team leagues with 3RR and KDS. Gotta love it!

Rotoworld.com, which is owned by NBC Sports, is a big part of why NBC is involved.
Fully aware of that. This is a win-win for both sides of the JV IMO. NBC/Rotoworld gets into a premier high-stakes FF game, and NFFC gets the exposure they could not get on their own.

are they trying to bring fantasy sports into the mainstream as they did with poker?NBC hosts the Head to Head Hold 'Em Championships, now they'll host a fantasy football draft show?good to see fantasy sports have hit the prime time!

I AGREE JACK (buck naked). This is certainly big news for our industry!

To recap for those not following all the high stakes action:

I'm seeing such great things coming out of High Stakes Fantasy Football right now it's a real exciting time to be a competitive player.

A league like NFFC (link above) is going corporate, with a media giant like NBC powering the way. Greg and the gang are making a BIG push. I can't decide if I want to do the 12 teamer or the 14 teamer (I've lost every year!). Multi city contest. 6pts per passing TD, .5 ppr for RBs.

WCOFF (www.wcoff.com) is already a giant having over 700 teams and a 300k top prize. The new ownership made last year's draft surreal. The Vegas experience is top notch but it's pricey at 2k. Multi city contest. ppr and flex.

You then have the BRAND NEW FFPC (www.theffpc.com) who's going back to the grassroots beginnings with player friendly interaction, allowing the gang on the message board to help tweak the event, similar to the way WCOFF and NFFC were created. They also offer an online option for those who can't make the vegas trip. 1.5ppr for TEs, and the Dual Flex.

There has never been a more exciting time as a High Stakes Fantasy Player. All 3 of these contests will be HUGE and I will be trusting my money with all of them. NFFC signing with NBC signals the MAINSTREAM beginning to High Stakes FF. Where will it take us?

Interesting developments, for sure.

The new Fantasy Football Players Championship looks especially intriguing. I love that they are offering an on-line option to participate in the main event.

WCOFF has their work cut out if they are to retain their spot as the top high stakes event.

not a huge fan of the scoring, but the online capability, plus eligibility for all 50 states makes it appealing

Doesn't impress me other then the greater exposure potentional for the fantasy world. I would rather get screwed here and there by the little guys then get screwed big time by the big companies. There is all the leagues u could ever ask for out there in the small private markets. The little guys u can go after. The big guys its harder.

I just feel safer playing with guys that run a few leagues over guys that run 100's.

That will never change.
