NCAA Football week 5 (1 Viewer)

Most likely I will loss the small amount I won last week on CFB. Will keep playing it a little for now though while sticking primarily to the NFL.

Very odd day, was shocked at how may people had Shireffs. Was also surprised Algernon Brown was playing as he hasn't practiced in 3 weeks and all of a sudden suits up and has 18 carries, definitely very strange which is why these small slates are tough because often times they're smaller school teams.

I ended up positive today, mostly due to a lot of opponents having Shireffs.

Just going back over the slate, had I stuck to the gameplan that had been working previously I would have cashed again. Had I went with the top 2 running backs and Lynch, then filled out the rest it would had given a score just over 95 which was well into the money. For the larger slates I have been starting with QB and TE, and filling in the RBs and WRs afterwards, but with so few options I think the correct approach for these smaller slates is to usually start with, and pay up for, the RBs instead.

I think it is take the elite players and fill in the rest with adequate plays. If that is running back like it was in this slate then go with the RB's, if it is a quarterback then pay up for him. The thing is that no matter how you build a lineup in these small slates you are going to have players that you are reaching on and that would never be in your lineup in a big slate.

Thankfully next week's mid-week slate is playable with 5 very good games.

On to the Saturday slate for me, lets get some discussion going on who we like and any questions you all might have. My personal take is going to be get as many guys from the following games.

Houston at Tulsa

Texas Tech at Baylor

Don't hate Western Kentucky vs Rice either.

Do we know why Dennis Parks was benched in the second half last week for Rice?

definitely cost me money last week so i am avoiding him this week.

I've been trying to figure this out myself. He is a must play against WKU if he's going to play the entire game at 5900. I haven't heard anything yet.

Read a couple people on Twitter saying he wasn't benched. His hammy starting acting up and the coaches sat him for precautionary reasons. Not sure about his status today.

thoughts on Shannon Brooks? he had 10 carries for 80 yds and 2 TDs last week and is min priced, but isn't in the value chart.

My concern is he is still the no2 RB and NW has been tough on the run at times this year as it was against Standford although in a couple games since then it has looked much more vulnerable. I expect it to be a low scoring game, O/U is just 40 and I think I could easily go under.

What's the scoop on Jaylen Samuels?
Best tight end play of the day imo. Thornton off the team means more carries for him. He's averaging 10 yards every time he touches the ball. He's going to see a couple more touches and most of the goal line work.

The weather in Raleigh is alot better today than yesterday for Samuels too.

Aaron Burbridge is the guy that jumps out to me. His price feels like a trap its so low

On the one hand I correctly identified Burbridge was a trap. On the other I still rostered him on 3 cash lineups, thankfully 2 were Ward and Boykin lineups so it may not matter. And my ability to correctly target min salary guys continues, its still early in the first quarter, but Calvin Ridley is tearing that Georgia secondary up.

Any suggestions for tonite. Doesn't look like a good slate to me. Pay up for RB and then it' a roll of the dice.

My Fan Duel lineup for tonight is:

Prescott
McCaffrey

Hurd
Morgan
Spruce
Min salary guy
Henry

Edit: Fournette is just impossible to roster with every playable quarterback up in the 8ks. McCaffrey, Spruce, and Morgan seem like auto plays to me at their price, and while Id rather roster Hooper, doing so would make it impossible to roster a second reliable RB. Henry will still get targets too. I can see maybe dropping Spruce to Kirk and upgrading Hurd to Perkins or Wilson though. Probably Perkins.

Edit to the edit: Alright, you talked me into it. Looking at the line movement on the ARK/TENN game and the MISSST/ TEXAM game Im going to swap out Spruce for Kirk and Hurd for Perkins.

I*** turned $40 into $145, so $105 profit. All tourneys. $25, $15, $10, $30, $25, $25, $5 hits. Missed on most of my low cost guys otherwise it would have been a very nice day.

*** By I, I mean Devin's projections and MT's IVC.

I probably won't be long for college football. Not enough contests posted to grind out any decent money and I suspect the pros will overrun guppies like me in no time.

You made the final decisions so give yourself the credit, my goal is to help provide information to help everyone get to the end result.

I think that the edge in college football is in the double ups. If you're looking to play head to head games the best time to post them is Friday night. Most of the sharks are focused on building their lineups or will post most of their contests instead of joining existing contests.

Down $12 last night despite Fournette across the board.

The large double up won at 95.96.

The smaller ones won at 100.50 (missed by a pt), 100.76, 99.8, 101.4. The tourneys cashed at 113.9

Did well on the afternoon slate, terrible on the night slate. Note to self, You do not have to play every slate. If your gut does not feel good about your team, cancel your entries. Every lineup I put together, something didn't feel right.
