NE/DEN Now Next Sunday -- Not This Monday -- per Adam Schefter (1 Viewer)

Broncos-Patriots game is being moved to next Sunday, sources tell ESPN. Broncos were supposed to play Miami; that won’t happen. That game is being rescheduled.

Belichick:  "Cam needs another week to recover, and our quarterbacking has sucked."

Looks around the room and points to a ball boy

"You, go get Covid."

NFL:  Game postponed.

Evil genius.
It’s actually not a bad strategy

Probably an easier work around with bye weeks?

I honestly don't know. There's got to be some logistic solution regarding why.
I'm sure the NFL has some good programs to figure out the best logistics. A local beat writer from Miami:

>> I was studying Denver/Jets/Chargers/Fins schedule permutations which would allow Miami-Denver to be postponed (2 reports say Fins-Broncos postponed; NFL Net says that's undecided) & not need a "Week 18" to play it. Might be possible, but my head exploded before I figured it out.<<

Adding a week 18 would be a fix, as one person wrote.

Count me among those that think a Week 18 would be a grand idea given the spike in cases the league seems to be dealing with.

I’m sure there’s some Doogie Howser type kid out there with a smart board that has all these permutations figured out.

Forgive my ignorance here, my head is swimming with lineup issues. What is the relevance of a question regarding Miami? Only having to do with week 6 correct, not week 5?

Yes, Miami game in week 6 is off, so they can get a bye, but there are more moving parts involved

In my big money league I think I may start pushing to just give all the money back and just punt on the season. This just isn't fair and not working on a roster or scheduling level.  My league is $1000 per team. 12 teams so tensions are a bit high.

LOL, and what's really funny is that it wouldn't surprise anyone if it came out that Belichick did that (which I mean as a compliment).

That would be an out of this world example of NE playing chess while the rest of the league was playing checkers. Can you imagine if BB took a bunch of nasal swabs from Cam Newton and stored them away somewhere, knowing that they would come back positive? I am guessing that the tests are administered by a third party and it would be difficult to orchestrate such a grand scheme successfully. But that would be a Mensa level con job if it worked.

Yes, the move puts the NE/DEN game in Week Six if the reporting is accurate.
Yes, the revised schedule was not so logistically difficult:

>>Here’s the plan, per sources, which is tied to Tennessee being able to play: Broncos-Patriots next Sunday. Week 8 (what was supposed to be Denver bye): Chargers at Broncos. Week 11 (scheduled Miami bye) Dolphins at Broncos. <<

So not more back to back games versus the Jets (with a bye in between) - which was crazy scheduling. Instead, the Bronco game is in the middle.
