Need Help with CBS Waivers (1 Viewer)

I set up waivers on CBS Sportsline using the advice from their customer support, but it's still not working right. We run waivers on Wed night/Thurs morning, and I want any player dropped during the waivers process to be available for pickup 48 hours later. But all dropped players are showing as on waivers and not available for pickup until the following week. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance! Appreciate the help...

Here's how I have it set up now.

I could be wrong but I believe your player must clear another waiver run in order to be available again that week. Since you only have waivers running one night a week that could explain why they are not eligible again till the next week.

We use CBS as well and our Waivers like you are trying to. All you need to do is check Fri. in your 'Run Waivers' list and it will run Wed night and Fri nights, essentially a 48 hour period for players who are dropped Wed.

Ok cool, thanks. I'll try that. But isn't there a way to just turn on first-come-first-served add/drops after the waivers process has run on Wed night?

It's not automatic. You have to manually uncheck the box  "free agent players are always on waivers" each week. It's my biggest gripe with the CBS product.

It probably needs to be then before a waiver run occurs. I then have to uncheck it to create an open free agency.

So you're saying the box should be checked from Sunday (once games start) until waivers run on Wed night, and then UNchecked the next day? That seems odd, no?

It works for our purposes and has for the last 3 years. Waivers Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fr/Sat  and  we also have open FA at 7pm on Thurs. and thereafter.

Right now your waiver is set to run only one Wednesday. Set your waiver to run Wednesday through Saturday and it will be automated. The players who are dropped on the first waiver run on Wednesday night will not be available until the Friday night waiver, then free for all after the Friday night waiver if no one picks them up during the Friday night waiver. All other players who were available going into the Wednesday night waiver will be free for all after that waiver.

This is right.  We've been on cbs for years

The only problem with this setup is that people who are actually awake or get up earlier have a FA advantage over other managers. This is why I manually change it for a set time of 7pm on Thursdays.

Yep, saw you posted the manual thing on a couple of posts, Futz, and I never even thought about doing it that way mostly because I'm too lazy to do so. I also count on the fact that my league mates are also too lazy to stay up that late and it's a fairly deep league so not much out there anyway most of the time. After the first waiver runs for the week, if anyone missed out on anyone else or if there was a breaking news, then fcfs works for me.

Strange to see so many waiver questions here for CBS this week, and they're all pretty much the same question. CBS should pay us for support work.

Yeah it's a little bit labor intensive but In fairness I find it to be worth it for all the managers involved. Everyone is pretty much gearing up for football and available at that time on a Thursday. Not sure what's going on with CBS support but I could sure use a freelance employee check.

So click the Saturday box as well?

Yes, otherwise there is no trigger to set all players to free agent once the 2 day waiver period "ends". Or, alternatively, make the waiver period 1 day and have waivers run through Friday, in which case the players dropped Wednesday night will be eligible for pick up Friday night and then all free agents after that. The free for all should then be available for all owners from Friday night following the waiver until Sunday 5 minutes before the first game.

The latter I think is better for what you want. The 1 day or 2 days waiver period is a bit misleading since making it 1 day makes them eligible on the second day following each waiver, which I think is what you want.

We run waivers overnight Tue/Wed. After waivers run, remaining players are NOT available to pickup, they all have the designation W (Thursday's date).

We run waivers again overnight Thu/Fri. After waivers run, remaining players are still not available. They're designated W (Tuesday's date).

Our league settings are:

What are we doing wrong?
Using CBS.    :P

Walking Boot, check to make sure the checkbox next to Free Agent Players Always on Waivers is not checked. If that is checked, then there is no free for all pickup ever.
