I have a female boston Terrier and a male pit mix. We are looking for another pit mix and have been told it is best to get a female. Any thoughts or opinions?

I agree with the advice you were given to get a female.

We have 3 Dobermans.  2 female and a male.  The 2 females tend to get into squabbles every now and then, but the male has been a calming influence on them.  He never fights with either of them and their squabbles have decreased since he came into the family.

I don't know if this helps your decision or not.

Im kind of confused. You say to get the female, but your comments suggest that isnt a good idea as your two females fought more when it was just the two of them.

I apologize.  I couldn't come up with the right wording.

You have a male and a female now.  Many times 2 males don't get along very well, worse than 2 females.

I was told by my vet it's much better to have 2 females and a male than a female and 2 males.  Males can be more territorial than females.  I don't know about pit mixes specifically, but in the case of Dobermans, 2 males was highly discouraged
