Neil Rackers on NFL Network -- is that real? (1 Viewer)

Is that segment on NFL Network where Neil Rackers drills the left upright twice, then the right upright twice, all on purpose ... REAL? After he does it, he stares into the camera and tells fantasy owners, "Pick me." That is SICK accuracy if it's authentic. :o

There was a long thread discussing this about a month ago. Should be able to find it if you search. A lot of good links in there to view how it could be real or could be doctored.

Yes by all means it is true. Better take him in the second round of your fantasy draft with that UNREAL ACCURACY. But before you do, take vick in the first...did you see him on that commercial throwing the ball all the way up in the stands!!!!! what a cannon on that guy!! pure fantasy gold. If you turn right around in the 3rd and stash lebron on your bench you are on you way to a Fantasy Championship!!!!! Anyone who can hit full court fade away jumpers DESERVES a roster sport. HE EVEN HIT THREE IN A ROW!!! HIS ACCURACY IS SICK!!!

that commercial was as real as the Ronoldinho commercial where he hits it off the top crossbar three times in a row!! No offense, but if you think that commercial is real....well you know

My friend took him in the 9th round of a 10-teamer because he is a huge Neil Rackers fan after last year.

He was like "Neil Rackers pwns your soul." after taking him.

Here's a quick St Pete Times blurb on the Chris Simms commercial: link

Part of it:

Simms filmed the commercial during the offseason at One Buc Place, firing about 60 passes to get the necessary footage.

"I guess the commercial wasn't long enough to put all my makes in there," he said.

When Simms throws at the goal post, the camera follows the flight of the ball from the time it leaves his hand. No magic involved.

"I do that all the time," Simms said. "But I'll tell you what, as crazy as it is, the one I was best on was the golf cart, the moving target. I made that a few times right in a row."

Except the last one.

Simms hit the guy driving the golf cart.

"He was like, 'Arrgh,' " Simms said. "So that was the last one."

:lmao: I really like Simms. Underrated this year. I mean, come on, he hit the crossbar!

Guy in my Dynasty League drafted him in the 2nd round (equivalent to a 21st round pick) but still there was lots of talent available when he grabbed Rackers. Said afterward that he used the pick because of the commercial!?!?!

You mean none of those commercials are real?

Damn, I took Rackers very early and am planning on trading for my RBs like it says in the commercial.

Anyone see Drew Brees in the acccuracy part of the quarterback challenge a couple years back? Dude drilled the ball through one of those wooden cutouts three straight times from at least 40 yards. That was just as impressive, and very real.

I think some of you are piling on unfairly. A LOT of people speculated about the legitimacy of this commercial back when it was new, including Joe Bryant. It certainly looks real and I don't think someone is a fool if they believe it upon first viewing.

You are aware, right, that the field goal posts aren't like the baseball foul pole, that hitting them isn't a good thing?

That last kick is heading to the left as lt leaves the tee, all the sudden as it is out of sight it hits the upright to the right?

Anyone have a link with the real word on these? I don't see anything on snopes. I read that Rackes was on NFL Network saying it was all real but have not seen it myself. Chris Simms is quoted it took him about 60 passes to get the film for his commercial.

Any confirmations either way? Or just people on boards saying it's fake or not fake?

Via a Chris Simms article, I think we can pretty much put to rest whether this was fake or real.

Thanks cobalt,
The camera angles, of course, leave viewers wondering: Did he really do that? Simms, of course, has a ready answer.

"I'm that accurate," he said Friday.

Then he fessed up: "I plugged them in there. Maybe not one right after another. That's the magic of cine-matography. They can make it look like all one thing. It was a really fun thing to do, though. I saw it for the first time a couple nights ago. It was really cool."

The fact that you took the time to edit this unnecessary, mean-spirited post only reinforces the fact that you, obviously, aren't a very pleasant chap. For those of you who were civil, I did just seen this ad for the first time today. I guess I should have done a search. I only asked if it was real. I didn't know. I'm no CGI expert. I would GUESS that it's not. But it sure would be amazing if it were. Whatever the case, fun stuff.
