It's about time for the announcers to say "ya know, Roethlisberger hasn't thrown an interception in seven straight attempts!" or some BS like that which immediately causes a turnover. lol :)

 
The Steelers have come back from being down before, and they've definitely softened this defense compared with the first half. Two possessions, two TDs in the second half. Let's see how the Pats respond. This game's not over yet.

The Steelers still need 2TDs just to tie, then a third score to win as well as to shut out the Patriots. All in 15 minutes. That's just a tremendous task to ask of any team, let alone against a Bill Belichick club.

With the way the last few minutes have gone..."The rumors of the Steelers demise are vastly overstated"Time to turn the game back on boys.

THat's the ultimate sports jynx right there. It almost never fails. What I need them to say is "the Pats are undefeated in the playoffs" at the opportune moment. ;)

It's about time. The Pats D was terrible in the 3rd quarter.Giving up just a field goal and staying up by two scores is a bit of a victory for the Pats.
 
Well, the Patriots run defense shuts them down in the red zone and they settle for a FG.The FG is the correct call. A TD plus 2 point conversaion plus a FG ties it. As long as you shut out the Patriots of course.Hey! Another commercial featuring Ben Roethlisberger in spandex for "nike pro apparell". I guess they need to hype him some more.

Absolutely. They've scored on three consecutive drives, but got stood up on first and goal from the 5. They've stopped the Pats quickly on two of the last three. Gotta take the points and let the D get to work.

I think that's what I think Capella. Nothing there and the game is really uphill. Still uphill now but I think a zero there might have been too much. It's not like the Steelers have been successful in short yardage.J

They'll debut Roth's new Chucky Soup commercial with 2mins to go, and then the turned ankle/broken leg/dislocated penis/whatever is soon to follow.

I think so - it is still a 2 possession game, but now two possessions can win the game if both are TDs. Also, a FG and a TD and a 2 pt conv. tie the game, you no longer need 2 TDs.If he had gone for it, and not got it, that would have given all momentum to NE.Now, to make that call he has to have faith that his DF can stop NE, which they have done so far this half.Mike
 
By the way, big props to Cowher and the Steelers here. 28 minutes of time of possession, three drives in the third quarter lead to two TDs and a first and goal from the 5 to start the 4th, they've softened the Pats D and managed to get momentum back. This game is going to answer the question of how you beat the Steelers - all year we've thought the answer was to get out to a big lead and make them play catch up but we'll see if they can play catch up against a team at the top level.

 
The Bill Cowher I remember from the SB vs. the Cowboys would've gone for it there... he just coached himself to a loss tonight, imo.

 
Hasn't happened in forever, but a turnover here would make things very interesting.J
