WR:

Randy Moss

Wesley Welker

Troy Brown

Competing for three roster spots:

Donte Stallworth

Reche Caldwell

Jabar Gaffney

Kelley Washington (most likely the odd man out)

Chad Jackson - IR

Bam Childress, - Practice Squad/Gone

Kelvin Kight - Gone

Isn't it time for Troy Brown to ride off into the sunset yet? I'm thinking he'll retire, or be listed as a D-back.

WR:

Randy Moss

Wesley Welker

Troy Brown

Donte Stallworth

Jabar Gaffney

Kelley Washington

Chad Jackson IR

Reche Caldwell GONE

My prediction is that Troy Brown gets a space as part of the WR coaching staff. His longevity with the team, knowledge of the system and standing as a 'Pats guy' adds up...so long as he has some skill in imparting his knowledge to others.

Very possible. Brown might decide to retire today, he might go to training camp to compete for a spot and lose one, or he may make the team. I still think that he would hold a roster spot if he wanted to.

The Moss trade is interesting. Talk about stockpiling talent at a position of weakness. They can always package some of it in a trade. I say:MossStallworthWelkerAre the locks. I wasn't all that impressed with Caldwell, though he did improve down the stretch, but he also did have some very inopportune drops. That doesn't bode well, in my eyes, with the other options available. Gaffney was good as a #2, but he's back to a 4 at best again. I don't think he likes it there, and he may ask for, or play himself into, a release. I think he's good trade bait. I think Kelley Washingtons upside is huge. But, he's back in a thick competition. Will he step up? Trade value is marginal, but packaged there may be some value. Troy Brown can still play. I think he can probably coach. We'll see what avenue he follows. Jackson? Who the heck knows. Kight and Childress? PS to gone. Maybe #6. I am stunned w/ the Moss trade. I know it's been rumored, but I didn't think it would happen. He may also get cut before camp. Humungous upside, in the right situation.

Put me down as thinking the Moss situation is going to end ugly. Even in the good times, Moss took a bunch of plays off. When things went bad he was the worst cancer I have ever seen. I can't think of another player of that stature that just flat out quit on his team. BB won't put up with it. Doug Gabriel was pretty productive last season when he got in the doghouse & dumped from the team. Even if Moss is healthy & productive, he'll take a few plays off & BB will blow up. It doesn't look like a good mix imo. Comparing the Dillon & Cox situations to Moss is laughable.

Did somebody say . . . eyes? :excited:

Who cares about the last spot. I always liked Washington's game, but who knows, the Pats go through WRs like Kleenex.

Troy Brown? OK, he's a nice guy.

Don't WR's 5 and 6 usually contribute on special teams? Who in that group is going to run down on kick coverage?
Well, we know Welker is contributing on ST. I would guess that may be the difference for Gaffney, Washington, and potentially Caldwell. I tend to think the locks are Moss, Stallworth, Welker, and Brown. No way they don't find a space for Brown. Belichek loves that dude.

I think Childress and Kight can go on the practice squad still

I also think each were cut and re-signed in 06 but not 100%
