New Jeep returning tomorrow (1 Viewer)

Wife purchased a new 2020 Rubicon.   We test drove it for several miles around the dealership.   Finished up the paperwork on Thursday evening.  Fast Forward to Saturday (First time at above 65mph on the turnpike) she is driving on the highway and she says the Jeep is wanting to continuously leave  her lane.   Over steer and under steer.    I drove the Jeep when she returned home and although I don't think it is as bad as she stated I can see the issue.  The Jeep needs constant adjustment to the steering wheel when above 60mph.  I read online that tire pressure may help.  The tires had 42 lbs psi and the door sticker said they should be 37 psi so I deflated down to 37 psi and it made a little improvement. Maybe all Jeeps need constant adjustment to steering on the highway? Maybe it is the wheelbase?  I dunno.   Luckily the dealership is working with her and willing to return the vehicle or trade for another of equal or lesser value.

My wife and her family are Jeep people and they all say this is just how Jeeps are. When her current Jeep dies, there is no way I'm buying another one.

My dad owned two different Jeeps. Under no circumstances will I ever own one.  They feel terrible to drive and have horrible long-term reliability.

My 2006 TJ goes down the highway just fine at 70-75.   One hand on the steering wheel.    Unless it's really windy, then you better hold on.

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that I brought brand new in 1999. Have had fewer problems with it than any car I have purchased since.

This is the problem although we have done no after market add ons.   No lift or larger tires just what came on the Jeep when purchased new.

I have a 2014 Rubicon with oversized 35” tires inflated to 42psi.  Mine drives fine and haven’t had any issues.  I take the freeway to work and go 70mph.  Sure there is road noise, but I don’t have any handling issues.  I love it.

I used to own a 2000 Wrangler and loved it.  Was in the market for a new vehicle about 6 months ago and nailed it down to  a new Wrangler or a Tacoma.  It wasn't even close after test driving both.  So happy with the Tacoma.  Was so disappointed in the quality of the Jeep.  It seems like it was overvalued b y about $10-15K.

Same here (2011 Rubicon 2-Door) Daily driver with no issues.  Routinely go 75+  Not at all a comfort car, but had the doors and hard top off last week - It's like driving a golf cart.

Thinking about getting a Gladiator so we can tow our travel trailer (4000 lbs) and have the "Jeep" aspects to drive around with.

Older Wranglers were incredibly reliable and known for being 200k+ vehicles. 

New Wranglers with lots of plastic and electronics introduced a lot of glitches and definitely have their share of issues. I likely wouldn't own one.

Yep. My 04 TJ was on 35's and I drove it cross-country twice (to Moab UT and Eagle Country, CO) and it was great at 75 aside from wind (flat fenders certainly exacerbated that). 

Wranglers were built to be primarily off road vehicles. The problem with the modernization of the wrangler is now you've got a bunch of desk jockey normies and Soccer Moms getting them and expecting them to drive like their Camrys... just not going to happen in a solid-axle 4x4.

Same experience. Had one as a service loaner and it felt like it was falling apart when on a highway.
