Highlights:

1) Pierre Thomas is getting alot of looks in the first team and HC says he is "smart" and a good blocker; those are important qualities for a young RB trying to get on the field.

2) Deuce's comeback is going well.

3) Stecker's injury is not going so well.

4) Not alot about Bush except he is getting his chances in first team offense too.

5) The depth chart is still unsettled

I still like Pierre Thomas a lot and this helps that feeling; however, Deuce is doing well too.

I still like PT a lot too. I just think Thomas is probably a better RB at this point and will force the CS to get him on the field. I own Thomas in quite a few leagues so Im biased and optimistic

I think Bush jumps quite a bit this year. First season they had him in decoy, role playing, gimmick things. Then last year he finally got his shot to be the starter, and they pounded him in there, without much thought into how he plays. I think he's learned through it, and will be vastly better this year.Or maybe you can just go through and replace 'think' with 'hope' LOL

Geez, I'm beginning to think you say that about anybody not worthy of drafting in the first 5 rounds. Thread after thread, all you do is avoid players. Have some fun and take a chance once in awhile!

I think I also said this in the Bush thread but I don't expect any Saints RB will get 200 carries this year. You will probably see Deuce and PT splitting the bulk of the carries between the 20's and Bush getting looks in the red zone (say what you want about his low YPC but the kid has an undeniable nose for the end zone).

I agreed with you up until the red zone mention. McAllister will likely be the red zone guy. Bush could get looks, but more from screen passes than rushing attempts inside the 20. I am of the belief that Reggie Bush will continue to disappoint as a starting RB in the league. As much as we may want to disagree, he is more Larry Centers than Marshall Faulk. I would be surprised if Bush exceeds 130 carries this year. Not with the return of Deuce McAllister (one year removed from 10 TDs) and the emergence of Pierre Thomas.

Why does everyone assume Deuce will be 100% healthy? He is not healthy now, and his knee is balky. Also, Stecker is not healed yet either. Thomas is the guy to watch. It is not too difficult to imagine this situation playing out where Thomas is the primary back.

Actually his ten td's was 2 years ago (Reggie had 9 that year). He tore the most important ligament in a knee for a rb 1 year ago.......yeah, he'll be the guy this year I'm sure and for Thomas I like what I saw but he had one good game....easy.Stop living in the past

It's not like I have the numbers in front of me, but even when Deuce was healthy in 06, Bush still got the majority of rushing attempts inside the 20.

Many players perform better with a smaller workload, Bush is not a minority in that regard.

As a Bush owner I would love to see his carries go down and for him to be used mostly on draws, sweeps, tosses, and screens. I only want him with the ball in space. I'm not sure he can ever run through the trash without looking like hot garbage.
