Better? There are ways around the filter ya know.I'm pretty surprised the filter didn't catch that one.
Raisy, there are some solid hints for the challenge in this spoiler. Also, join us for multiplayer sometime. There's a lot of us playing.Bigger spoiler here. This has some solid advice for beating challenge 2. I think a combination of strategy and luck are required, but you don't need to play the perfect game in order to win. However, if your game isn't near perfect for the first couple of rounds, just start over.
The Zerg-
Here's the list of bonuses I gathered during the zerg phase, by turn:
2-Central America, India
3-West Africa
4-Middle East
5-West US
6-Caucasus
7-East Africa, East China
8-East US, South Africa
Followed by a quick succession of Canada, W Russia, Indonesia, N Africa, and Central Russia. I didn't secure Greenland, Europe, South America, or Scandanavia until later in the game, after contact was made.
The armies per turn went roughly:
5
5
12
16
20
25
31
39
51
56
66
71
77
That list isn't exact, as I was scribbling notes from several games and got them mixed up. The point is: every turn you add a bonus, and every turn you set yourself up for the next bonus.
Contact-
Follow my route, and you'll contact the AI in Svalbard, Australia, Anadyr, Canada (get to Nunavut first), South America, and Europe/Scandanavia. If you're lucky the same AI will be in South America and Australia. If you're really lucky (I was) you'll also get the same AI in Scandanavia and Canada. This allowed me to block AIs #3 and #4 with Svalbard, and the AI #5 at Anadyr.
Plugs-
It should be obvious already that you have no hope of fighting all five at the same time, and that all five will find you if you don't drop a plug. I dropped my first plug on Svalbard, which I highly suggest, cause you'll probably tie up two of the AIs with one plug. You drop your second plug on Anadyr, and you need to get to it before the AI does. You'll spend 3-4 turns defending Anadyr before you get the second card, and it's critical that you hold it.
Cleanup-
I doubt you can make it to all the choke points with enough men to hold them, so you'll need to do cleanup. Indonesia/Australia and South America are easy areas to hold and clean. It took me four or five turns to secure Europe/Greenland/Scandanavia, but it can be done.
Honestly, if the AI gets loose in Asia or Canada, consider starting over.
Mid game-
I broke through the AI's defense in South America and attacked Africa, and then moved on to everything else. Australia/Indonesia was mostly a holding area for me, as was my South America.

A plug is an abandon. I don't remember what the percentage is in that game, but you move a certain number of troops into the territory, use an abandon card on it, and it will make the territory neutral and multiply your armies by a certain amount (2x, 3x, 5x, etc.).It's called a plug, because if you use it at a bottleneck, it becomes practically impassable. What is this plug you speak of? A lot of troops?
Didn't even know I got cards........A plug is an abandon. Same way as the reinforcement, you conquer territories and get random cards. There are 8 or so cards in total.raisydaisy said:No, not right now leave from work soon. Can't invite by username, unless it's in your friends list. PM me your registered email address.I'd appreciate invites to any upcoming tourneys. Samer user name as this board.
I pity the fool that does not play the Mr. T map.I am NOT playing the Mr. T map.
Where are they located at, is this in single player mode?Same way as the reinforcement, you conquer territories and get random cards. There are 8 or so cards in total.
In any game, single or multiplayer, you will see "cards" in the menu on the left. Click it and all the cards you have earned are available to play.In the single player games, only a few different cards are available (for example, in the Europe game, the airlift is first introduced). In multi-player games, there are a bunch of different cards that the game creator can put into the game (sanctions, diplomacy, order priority, order delay, gift, etc.).Where are they located at, is this in single player mode?Same way as the reinforcement, you conquer territories and get random cards. Yes.Guderian (TexanFan's Warlight user name) has beaten Crazy in 20 turns. I've only managed 27 turns.Let's try this from a different angle. Has anyone beat the crazy challenge. There are no cards in this challenge other than reinforcement from what I can tell.
Thank you, no cards or anything, just a tough SOB to beat.Yes.Guderian (TexanFan's Warlight user name) has beaten Crazy in 20 turns. I've only managed 27 turns.Let's try this from a different angle. Funny that the help being offered makes more sense when you're clearer about which challenge you're referring to.Let's try this from a different angle. Has anyone beat the crazy challenge. There are no cards in this challenge other than reinforcement from what I can tell.

Does this not say the challenge. The insane challenge has abandon cards, which are used to create a 'plug'. The crazy challenge, which you apparently were referring to all along, yet using the name "insane challenge", does not have abandon cards, it only has reinforcement cards.Okay WTF, I tried the insane challenge 100 times and lost. UK... Warlords, choose starting locations, single elimination...If anyone is interested in another 1v1 tournament, I'm taking suggestions for game settings. Map, cards, tournament format, etc. What do you want to see?
Could be getting more involved than Sidewinder wants to put into this, but you could increase the value of the territories in Ireland as they have more for only 6 or 5 as of now. I like British Isles for 4-5 man games, maybe it's not the best choice for heads up.UK blows. There's one spot that's better than the others, and eventually everyone will go there.
I've tried to improve, and have never come remotely close to 20 turns again. I must have had a perfect storm of luck in that game.29 here.Yes.Guderian (TexanFan's Warlight user name) has beaten Crazy in 20 turns. Hawaii is ok, I even think the UK is fine for 1v1, it's just teams that it gets a little lopsided. If you are really worried about the "group bonus bonuses" just set them to 0.Somalia seems like the best 1v1 map.
I've tried to improve on mine (something like 65) and have never done it again at all.I've tried to improve, and have never come remotely close to 20 turns again. I won all the challenges the first game I played (except for insane). You pick a player and it shows you all of their territories.I've never played with a Spy card... do you select a territory and it shows you what's in it? Does it show you the surrounding territories as well?
should be a buttonHow do you force join someone to a game?
Looking for 3 more to join to get this thing rolling.New 1v1 single elimination tournament going up now. FBG invite only (if I missed someone, let me know). Using the triangle map, 3 army neutrals, 25h boot times and a couple of cards. Check out the settings and if I get enough complaints about something I'll tweak it and start it again. Hopefully we can get at least 16 to join.
Looking to fill just one more spot.If no other FBGs are interested, I'm taking recommendations for non-FBGs.Sidewinder16 said:Looking for 3 more to join to get this thing rolling.New 1v1 single elimination tournament going up now. Or when your opponent's 14/9 attack works and ends the game...I am not liking the triangle for heads up, I won like 80% of my matches today, but the ones I lost I had no control over, if you guess wrong as to which end the opponent shows up when you complete your 20 bonus you are screwed (i.e. if you have 80 armies in the wrong corner upon completion), you guess he will be right next to you, and he completed up top.
Or when a 5 beats a 4. Oh, wait, that was a different game.Or when your opponent's 14/9 attack works and ends the game...I am not liking the triangle for heads up, I won like 80% of my matches today, but the ones I lost I had no control over, if you guess wrong as to which end the opponent shows up when you complete your 20 bonus you are screwed (i.e. if you have 80 armies in the wrong corner upon completion), you guess he will be right next to you, and he completed up top.
You were going to lose that fight anyway. You had no bonuses, I had 3. In the game I was referring to, JoJo and I each had 1.Dragons said:Or when a 5 beats a 4. Actually, that's not true. At the time, I had just secured XinJiang (18) and you had not secured East India or North India yet. You may have had Bangladesh and Bhutan (I can't confirm, as I can't see the full history yet). Next turn, I lost attacking with 9 vs 5, which would have kept North India from you. Had I held on to Nagqu the turn before, I could have abandoned and focused more armies towards North India and held on to XinJiang the following turn. You had an advantage at that point, but it wasn't completely one sided until that loss.I'm just pointing out that you win some, you lose some by the luck factor. If you're going to complain about marginal bad luck, you should probably also point out when luck works supremely in your favor.14 beating 9 is nothing (the kill ratio alone is 8.4).You were going to lose that fight anyway.
