I recall seeing a report on Bettis last year or the one before that followed him around and showed how he could barely get out of bed on Mondays after games....he was basically sore until saturday....he talked about the long-term toll of playing FB and how he was considering retiring. It's pretty amazing that he's turned it around like he has. I figured he was a shoe-in for 'comeback player' - but alas they gave it to Brees.
