NFL becoming a "Pansy game" (1 Viewer)

Yes, it's very important for the integrity of the game that the players suffer more pain and injury than necessary. And that pricks like Hines Ward be allowed to take cheap shots at their fellow employees with no repercussions.

Otherwise the true hard men, the fans, will be very disappointed the players don't live up to the standard of toughness they set ever Sunday on the couch.

Was watchig the Steelers last game. I saw three times that Ward game in as plays were ending on the sidelines and he would give annoying, in your face, acting like a ##### bumps to the C.B. who had been covering him. The plays were definitely not enough to draw a flag, but were unsportsmanlike, chicken-####, and definitely intended to instigate and to provoke. That is his game, to provoke. It is unsportsmanlike but has been successful in actually provoking the other team to retaliate and they then get they flag. I think it is appropriate that his chicken-#### behavior be punished. Man up or play clean, but his constant low level crap needs to stop. I know Steeler fans see it as "heady" play, but they would not appreciate it from the other team. Ward is a punk.

Just an opinion.

Then they should not be enough to draw a fine. Why is this so hard for some of you?Pay closer attention in terms of how "tackles" are made now. I've done this recently and was amazed how few truly "textbook" or simply good, solid tackles I saw - not cheap shots or lead w/the helmet stuff, but a good, clean, hit, then wrap your arms around the guy and drive him to the ground stuff. It's surprisingly infrequent - lots of partial hits or this stupid thing w/guys just "bumping" into the ball carrier and hoping he goes down, or worse, doing that idiotic ball-slap vs focusing on the tackle - so on and so on. Sometimes it's almost comical, even on good Ds. I know players are bigger and stronger etc and I'm all for protecting against cheap shots, but it's going too far the other way now IMO (don't even get me started on how quickly and stupidly roughing the passer is called).

Hines would kick your a## :goodposting:

What drives me nuts is slowing down a play to criticize a hit. Hits on the QB are the perfect example. Of course it looks more deliberate in slow motion, but at full speed most hits on the QB are perfectly legit. A guy can't go full throttle if it's his obligation to hold up at the last 1/4 second because the QB is releasing the ball when he hits.
