NFL Bill Walsh Tribute? (1 Viewer)

I hope this is cool for the shark pool. (insert poet joke)

Did I miss something? I've been busy at work but I have not heard any official NFL tribute for Bill Walsh. Sure the NFL Network had hours of coverage/tribute when he passed, but is there going to be a Bill Walsh day? A patch?

From the talent he drafted and brought to the forefront, the "West Coast" system, the minority coaching program he founded to the dynasty he built, he is the most influential persona in the NFL in the last 30 years.

Did I miss an official rememberance from the NFL? Are we going to have a Bill Walsh day?

My favorite idea I've heard around the SF Bay Area was a Bill Wash award, like Bill Walsh Coach of the Year award.

I did see on the news(back when he passed) some previous San Fran mayor was on the prowl for something in Bill's memory. Something along the lines of tough time for the city, he helped them get thru with his leadership, can't imagine what it would have been like without him etc

The Mayor "renamed" it Bill Walsh Field at Monster Park today......Whaddya thnk, Bill Walsh Coach of the Year Award?

The NFL approved throwback jerseys for the Niners' first home game. There's probably more in the works.
YES, the throwbacks are sweet. There was a time in the late 1990's that they were undefeated in those jersey's for about 5-6 games.

throwback jerseys, naming the field after him

What more is sufficent?

:lmao:
no no no, I was asking a sincere Q?
First off, it's not Bill Walsh Stadium. If it were that would rock. Second, it wouldn't be sufficient.Derek19's idea is excellent. That one, or the studious pose on the sidelines (hat, headset, arms crossed with one hand under his chin)
what's with the hostility? You're the only one that used the word stadiumI was merely wonderring what additional(note the word more)is enough for San Fran fans? What's a proper tribute and what wouldn't be enough etc.Sorry you've misunderstood me

I heard **** Vermeil on the radio a few days ago commenting about the Niners' wearing a patch or something on their uniforms all season and the plans to honor Walsh with a special tribute to him at the stadium at their home opener. Vermeil said all that was nice for Walsh's family but the best time to have honored him was when he was still alive to appreciate it.
