NFL Schedule (1 Viewer)

I believe it was announced recently that it will be released around mid-April. The preseason schedule is out tomorrow at 3pm EST (oh joy!) and the primetime game announcements should follow, with the entire schedule out mid-April. That's usually how it goes.

Pre-Season schedule is out....

NFL.com

The NFL's slate of 11 nationally televised preseason games will feature the entire 2009 playoff field, one of the highlights of the 65-game 2010 NFL preseason schedule announced Wednesday.

Two of those clubs –- the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys -– will kick off the preseason in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, Aug. 8 (NBC, 8 p.m. ET) in Canton, Ohio.

The New Meadowlands Stadium will open in primetime on Monday, Aug. 16 (ESPN, 8 p.m. ET), when the New York Jets host the New York Giants in the first game at the teams' new stadium.

The Super Bowl XLIV champion New Orleans Saints will be showcased on national TV when the club faces the AFC West champion San Diego Chargers at the Louisiana Superdome on Friday, Aug. 27 (CBS, 8 p.m. ET).

Following is the complete 2010 NFL preseason national TV schedule:

IMO the first and last 3 games should be against division opponents for every team's schedule. But that's just me.

Can anyone tell me when the nfl schedule comes out?
later today
Is this true? I thought I read somewhere (I think here in the SP) that they wouldn't be releasing the schedule until after the draft this year, which is in contrast to previous years. Something to do with scheduling conflicts, regarding NFL teams that share stadiums and/or parking facilities w/ MLB teams, that haven't been ironed out yet.I dunno, just keep remembering I read that somewhere recently.

He's just giving you the business.

the nfl network said 2 hours ago " comming soon ,nfl schedule realease exlusive blabla", so its not today . they will give a few days notice i would think to draw veiwing .

stumbled on this today and confirmed at espn television schedule . although i never trust espn .

According to the program schedule on ESPN.com, the 2010 NFL schedule will be released on April 13th. There is a SportsCenter Special scheduled on ESPN2 at 7pm.

also read an article written early april by a sportswriter guessing it would be april 14th based on other sports events going on . so there would not be much competition for the schedule release being the big news of the day .

looks like its around this time

And the NFL schedule scramble continues now that the 2 Philly/Washington games are slam dunk national tv games.

Bump.

There were rumors that the schedule will be released tomorrow, April 13th. Anybody heard anything? Games are sometimes leaked ahead of the official announcements.

The rumors were that leaking wasn't going to occur this time around (other than the know facts of the Saints opening the entire season at home on the Thursday) as well as the Giants/Jets opening weekend deal and Dallas and Detroit on Thanksgiving.Expect Steelers-Jets week 5 now  -QG

Tomorrow could be the day, or not. I can't believe that no one will even tell us when it is coming out. If it is a conspiracy then I think the dates are known for the big games and the privileged are being allowed to book flights and hotel rooms ahead of the announcement before prices are jacked up for those dates. Thoughts?

It was probably delayed to see if they can get more WASH/PHIL into prime time. Not sure if DEN plays MIA, but that also could be a headliner as well.Plus I think Goodell is pushing for the last two weeks to me mostly divisional contests. That might have already been done prior to the two deals.

Goodell just announced in his chat over on NFL.com...

Saints will open the seasoin hosting the Vikings.

I know many suspected, now it appears to be official.

Hmmmmm... week 5 bye to give BigBen an extra week of practice with the team after serving a 4 game suspension?

Jets have 5 prime time games?!?!? I havent checked but is that the most this year?? Last time I checked they were an average team that for the most part is pretty boring...

Are team bye weeks known yet?
BYESWeek 4: DAL, KC, MIN, TBWeek 5: MIA, NE, PIT, SEAWeek 6: ARI, BUF, CAR, CINWeek 7: DET, HOU, IND, NYJWeek 8: ATL, BAL, CHI, CLE, NYG, PHIWeek 9: DEN, JAC, SF, STL, TEN, WASWeek 10: GB, NO, OAK, SD

It's their defense that will turn heads, plus the addition of Santonio Holmes makes them a hot commodity. Not to mention LT being there too. The Jets made some serious moves both offensively and defensively since we last saw them.

Looking through weeks 14-16 for teams with potentially favorable FF playoff schedules:

Denver (@ARZ, @OAK, HOU)

Tampa Bay (@WAS, DET, SEA)

St. Louis (@NO, KC, SF)

Indy (@TEN, JAX, @OAK)

San Francisco (SEA, @SD, @STL)

Any others?

agreed. But still their style isnt appealing to what "typical" viewers like. They run the ball alot and play a slow pace defensive messy game. After the nation sees a couple of those I have a feeling they wont be as interested.

I really like Tennessee's FF playoff schedule: 14 Thu, Dec 9 Indianapolis 8:20 PM 15 Sun, Dec 19 Houston 1:00 PM 16 Sun, Dec 26 @ Kansas City 1:00 PM Light Blue Jesus will win a lot of GMs their league title this season.

Does anyone have a tougher schedule than Dallas? Thay have 7 games against playoff teams with 5 of them on the road. Wow!

cowboys have the third-hardest schedule by last year's win pct. not sure who's top.
The Texans and the Titans are tied for the hardest preseason schedule but the Texans have to play the Ravens & the Jets, whereas the Titans have to play Pitt & Miami. All 8 teams in the AFC South & the NFC East are in the top 10 in hardest schedule, mainly because they are playing each other.

Does anyone besides Dallas have 5 road games against playoff teams? Seems like that should have been at least 3 home and 4 away if not 4 home and 3 away. Doesn't matter though, some of those teams may not be playoff teams this year.

I doubt anyone else does. Unfortunately, home & away games are decided in advance. Because they made the playoffs last year, the only two games that are decided by last years record are therefore against two playoff teams of which are always split 1 home & 1 away. Also Dallas plays in Houston as well, a team that missed the playoffs based on a tiebreaker last year so it was almost 6 road games against playoff opponents.

Agreed, its like watching the Ravens, unless you are truly a fan of defense, which most typical fans are not, the Jets suck to watch. Maybe they are hoping Ryan does a bunch of crazy crap on the sidelines every game to keep people glued. LOL at the idea that LT is going to make them better or more fun to watch, he stunk last year on a great offensive team, even with a better O-line, it still will not make him younger or good for that matter. The Jets will regret letting Jones go imho, he was a solid back and a very good team player. I was just watching the replay of the Chargers and Bronco's game when the Chargers pulled LT on the 3 yard line (After 2 runs of gaining about 2 yards) and he got all pissy on the sidelines, awesome team player.

F'ing brutal schedule if you ask me.

The NFC East and the AFC South finally get to determine which is the better conference this year. To steal John Clayton's words:

Each season since 2006, the AFC South and NFC East have sported division races in which at least three of four teams had .500 records or better and have featured some of the best teams in the league.

I think this is the year Houston makes the playoffs, I think they will be a fun team to watch, too bad they will not get many prime time chances.
