How Would You Divide How Much You Care About NFL and College?

Obviously, this forum will be skewed toward the NFL just because of Fantasy Football.

But I was interested in how folks would say they divided the split between the NFL and College in how much they cared.

And "care" can be whatever you want it to be. Even if the only reason you care about College is for your NFL interests with Dynasty or Devy or whatever.

Let's hear it.

I'd say 30% NFL / 70% college. The Bills are weekly appointment viewing, but other than that I rarely intentionally sit down and watch a regular season game. Might pick up some bits and pieces of SNF/MNF/TNF, maybe the end of a 4 PM kickoff if the Bills played at 1, but I'm not planning my Sunday around it. I consume minimal NFL news/info other than this board, and I haven't played FF in about 12 years.

Conversely, if I had my way, I'd park my *** on the couch from 12 noon until midnight on a Saturday and watch college football all day. If I have a choice between a standard run-of-the-mill TNF game or two bottom-feeder FBS schools playing on a weeknight, I'm probably going to watch the bottom-feeder FBS schools.

80/20. It was 95/5, but having started to play dynasty I'm at least following college a bit more. That said, college football simply isn't a thing over here. There's zero media coverage for all intents and purposes (I've watched more games live than I have on TV) and nobody has any of the links that US-based fans would have to a particular college.

I voted 60%NFL/40% College

5 years ago that number would have been 95NFL and 5College, but I'm getting really turned off by the NFL because of:

1. Suspect officiating
2. Inconsistent leadership by Goodell
3. Poor disciplining of players for off the field incidents
4. A neverending money grab by the NFL for every last effing dollar

Probably a few more reasons if I stop to think about it some more.

Aug-late Oct: unless Michigan is facing a quality opponent generally don't care about anything but the Browns. Will tune in if something is on and I'm in an environment that is conducive to watching football, but it isn't a priority.

Late Oct-early Dec: 50/50 and it all becomes appointment viewing...on Sat and Sun anyway. Default mode for TNF is auto skip. It was for MNF as well for years, but the Manning cast brought me back.

Early Dec-end of season: almost all NFL all the time except for the playoff games. If college teams don't care about bowl games then I don't either.

I pay attention to U of M & Central Michigan, my alma mater. Rarely watch bowl games except semis and the championship game.

This weekend I watched about 1/3rd of Michigan and occasionally checked the CMU game (Homecomong so something to text old friends about.) I listened to maybe 1/3 of the Lions @ Pats hometown radio and saw zero NFL plays on tv.

Rest of season I’ll watch hardly anything live - maybe 3 Lions games and the Michigan/Ohio State. I’ll watch condensed games or replays if an NFL game interests me. Most MNF & TNF are boring snoozefests. I watched a fair amount of the NFL first month (virtually no college) but it will sharply taper off. Most weeks I won’t see any NFL football on Sunday’s.

FF hobby dominates my internet time but I segment it. First time I looked at my matchup this week was 10pm, saw I had high score of the week. I did check GTD, put a guy on IR, picked up / played a K, swapped out my Flex based on Monty coming back.

I love keeping up on situations around the league but sitting down and watching games is just not a priority in my life.

When I was younger it was different. Faith and family takes up my time, I like it that way. I’ll only watch football if the wife & kids are off doing something and I don’t have a project to compete. Which is rare.

80% NFL 20% college

from my 20's to mid 40's
die hard sports fan, watched everything
now maybe watch a game or two a year in the NFL and NHL, I havent watched an MLB, NBA ,NCAA, golf or tennis in over a decade
for this poll: 25% NFL 1% college

I voted 100/0.

0% still accurate for college football. Probably less than that actually.

NFL I might catch 2nd half of TNF and/or MNF if I have direct FF interest. I watch all of SNF if I have direct FF interest. I watch the wrap-up show on NFLN.

I'm just in it for the stats.

90/10 but the pie is significantly smaller than it used to be. If there was no Red Zone Channel I might not watch more than an entire hour of football all season. I just don’t have the desire to sit through 3+ hours of mostly commercials with the occasional act of football.

That’s two of us - I watched some CM football this weekend also. It was better than my broncos getting waxed by EM.

I said 90/10.

I play dynasty, so I do just enough to know most of the top prospects coming out.

That's as much as I care about college until I start doing actual research, highlights, depth charts, landing spaces, etc until about 2 weeks before our league's rookie draft each summer.

So for 50 of 52 weeks of the year, I only know the big college names and nothing more than their names.

I love college football. Grew up in Tulsa, so the entire family was OU Sooners fans. Moved to Tampa the year the Bucs became a team, so been a fan since day 1. Went to USF, so a Bulls fan. My dad was in the Navy so I root for them over Army in what I view as the greatest rivalry in college football. Beyond that, there's a very specific hierarchy of teams I root for that's impossible to describe.

I recorded and watched 8 college games this weekend, not including the game I went to. I watched about 30 minutes of NFL today. Mind you it was a good and crazy 30 minutes (bills Vikings).
