Sorry if the SP is not the place for this. Did anyone else lose NFLN on Comcast yet? The channel is missing on my comcast here in Northern VA. I contacted them and they said they made some recent updates in the system. I still get NFLNHD, but I don't have HD tvs throughout the house. They said that I need HD and pay the $5 for the sports package to get it. How can they do this mid month? I know I may lose it come May 1 anyway, but still would have liked it for the draft. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

I have to check my bill, I thought I was already paying $5 premium for the sports package, and NFLN was the only reason I would do that. If it goes, the sports package goes. That blows, the only two channels I watch are that and the the golf channel.

I've been paying the $5 for NFLN for over a year now. NFLN used to be free, then Comcast included it in the Sports package... I'm just surprised it has taken that long for the policy change to reach you in VA.What I'm more concerned about is the NFLN leaving Comcast altogether. Which would then mean that I would have to get Direct TV just to see the Thursday night games. The NFL has me by the balls.

I just switched about 2 months ago. Comcast charged me about $100/month for TV (including $5 NFL Network tier), DirecTV is $60 for a comparable package. That's $40/month over the course of a year = $480 savings. Sunday Ticket is $280. Still saving $200/year...

Comcast, NFL Network in hearing on channel’s fate

The dispute between the nation’s largest cable TV provider and the NFL Network is getting a hearing this week.

Comcast Corp. and the NFL Network are appearing before an administrative law judge at the Federal Communications Commission.

The sides disagree over Comcast’s treatment of the NFL channel. Comcast moved it to a premium sports tier that has fewer viewers than the digital TV package where the NFL Network wanted to be.

Comcast says it put the NFL Network in the premium package because of the high costs of carrying the channel. The NFL Network says Comcast is retaliating for not getting the right to air NFL games on its Versus sports channel.

The judge will make recommendations to the FCC, which could force Comcast to carry the network in the lower-priced tier.

Are you sure it's gone and not moved to a different channel? At least in the Philly area, all of the sports package channels (NFLN, NHL Network, Fox Soccer Channel, etc.) were supposed to be moved from the 200's into the 700's today.

I just tried 733 and voila. Thanks cybergeek! You'd think the comcast rep I spoke to earlier would have known this. Now I just hope NFL wins this FCC thing or at least doesn't pull it off Comcast. I don't mind paying the $5, I just want the damn channel. I don't think I can handle watching ESPN.

I cancelled NFLN in January and will never go back.

Cuomcast customer in Northern Virginia too. I found NFL Network, then saw the ultimate tease of "NFL on Demand" with rookie player profiles advertised as free of charge. Go to load it up and find out need to order a "special package."
