Top-3 in the Atlantic pretty much set. Other than getting a game 7 at home do these next 20 games even matter?

Not like playing Boston or Washington in round 1 is a whole lot easier than Detroit or Montreal. I think as a Bolts fan I would prefer to play the Habs to Boston.

What realistic chance do the Predators have of going pretty far in the playoffs? I've never been huge into hockey, but really enjoying this season for the Preds and have been to maybe a dozen games. Rinne has been playing ridiculously well this season and the Preds have a pretty big lead for the #1 seed in the west. Are the Preds built like a team that can make a run in the playoffs?

The Boston Bruins continue to shop away as the clock ticks toward Monday's deadline.As of Friday morning, the Bruins remained in the mix for the services of pending UFA winger Chris Stewart from the Buffalo Sabres, a dance that's been going on all year, but another source also said that the B's are in on the Antoine Vermette derby as well. Management from the Bruins and the Arizona Coyotes spoke a few times Thursday.

It's believed the Bruins shopping list also includes Erik Cole of the Dallas Stars and Cam Atkinson of the Columbus Blue Jackets, among others.

Vermette would be a big pickup, especially with star center David Krecji hurt. But the Chicago Blackhawks are seen as being very eager on Vermette as well, among other potential forwards. A source told ESPN.com Friday morning that the Blackhawks were hoping to complete a trade by the end of Friday.

And whether it's a forward or a defenseman remains to be seen; the Hawks could end up with both before Monday's deadline.

Sabres are 3-1-2 in their last 6. They beat Couver and scored 6 goals despite missing their 2 leading scorers.

They were 93% to finish last, but are now at 76%. Making me sweat.

So, to get the tank back on track, Pysyk was sent back down to Rochester. Hoping they ship out Torrey Mitchell and Chris Stewart soon too.

Arizona blew a 2-goal lead last night. 2 more H2H matchups this year between the Sabres and Coyotes. Hope the Sabres find a way to dress a bag of pucks and give it a regular shift in those games.

btw, massive night for the Wild last night. Pushed up their playoff chances by 15% according to sportclubstats
