Glad everything else is okay with him though... full movement in all his extremities and all that. Pretty scary stuff.

Also Tramon Williams is gimpy, suddenly the Packers have some real issues in their secondary.
Tramon Williams had an issue with his shoulder and could have played this past week if it was the playoffs. He'll most certainly be back next week. Losing Collins is a blow to the Packers, but Charlie Peprah started nearly every game last year when Morgan Burnett was lost for the season. He's limited, but obviously quite capable as they won the Superbowl with him. Burnett has been quite good so far this year. Bottom line is that the Packers secondary will still be good. Tramon Williams is the key player here. Without him the Packers were forced to play Woodson as a true cover corner which is no longer his strongest position. Woodson is best as a hybrid CB/S/LB.

How do you explain Cam Newton throwing it for 400+ yards? Is that a good secondary?

Sorry to hear about Collins. I did not see the play until this afternoon, and was struck by the athleticism of Cam Newton on the play. He seems to vault off Collins' helmet with his butt, or his hip, and then propel himself another five yards due to the contact. Just a fluke play, really.

I believe it was Stewart and it was just a freak play.

Like I said, Tramon Williams is the key. He didn't play vs the Panthers, and the Packers were forced to use Woodson as a cover CB. (on Steve Smith). A terrible matchup for Woodson.

Packers secondary is best when Williams locks down on the opposition's #1 WR, and Woodson is free to be a playmaker close to the line.

Also while the 400+ yards are impressive, the Panthers were shut down in the red zone by the Packers for most of the game. They scored a TD on their first drive and were set for a FG by Randall Cobb's fumble on the ensuing KO return. That put the Panthers up 10-0 almost immediately. From that point until the Panthers last drive, the Packers outscored Carolina 30-6, and picked off Newton 3 times.

Not trying to pretend that all is rosy with the Packers pass defense right now. They aren't playing nearly as well as they were last year. Pretty good chance they'll be a lot better with Tramon Williams back next week though.

Sharper won't be the pick up here. I think TT will bring back one of his cuts from this summer or another team's practice squad player. I think there is some reason to be concerned here. Peprah's ok, but he doesn't have the range/athleticism that Collins brought. And who knows if Collins will be able to come back? Maybe we see Brandon Underwood, Josh Gordy or Anthony Levine back?

@sharper42 Very interesting things going on now..., stay tuned!

Darren Sharper just tweeted this.

Tramon out + throwing 46 times including big time blown coverage by Woodson on Smith there at the end.

sorry if this is a naive or ignorant question but im not as savvy when it comes to changes on defenses affecting the landscape....Who is affected when player is up against the gb def now? Does it tilt the scales toward wrs...? rbs? etc...
