Yeah you are right its wasn't quite a headbutt because the coach that he was trying to intimidate is about 6 inches shorter than him. Its pretty hard to headbutt someone that much smaller than you.

you are dead wrong.... anyway I didn't what this thread to turn out the way it did. My original thoughts were that the Chargers talk the most after a big game than any other team in the league. End of story. We can agree to disagree on that, which is totally fine. No hard feelings. Unfortunately the thread went south after the a couple of posts... SEYMOUR DOESN'T MAKE CONTACT WITH THIS COACH PERIOD. Take your LT tinted visor off watch it a second time and get back to me.. You originally call this a headbutt.. now it is a he bumped him in the chest 3 times, whats next??

Watched it again this time with my Patriots fan glasses. It appears the Seymour just stood there and the Chargers coach walked into him just like Rivers during the game. I understand why this thread was embarrassing for you especially when you were reminded of Brady's flop and Harrison's comments about the Giants. Perhaps you should keep the homer whining topics to the Patsfans message board. It's likely to go over better over there.

This thread is yet another shining example of why people hate Patriots fans so much. They've got everything going their way, and yet they want to whine over the stupidest things.
This is the first of what are now 2 comments in this thread by you, and what's funny is that in neither of your posts do you offer a single remark about the actual subject at hand.
No, this IS the subject at hand. If this were not the case, this thread would not exist.
Nothing at all about the actual Hardwick statement. Nothing. Not a peep. Not a word. Only 2 mentions of how clear it is why Pats fans are hated. That's it? That's what youre bringing here? I'd atleast expect you to defend your guy in whatever way you choose for whatever you can make of those comments. But no defense whatsover for the guy?
It's not worth talking about. Hardwick probably shouldn't have been running his mouth and Seymour probably shouldn't be playing dirty. Once again, this is a stupid issue that is only being brought up because of whiny Pats fans.
How do you think you'd respond if some guy just made the same remarks about one of your guys? "The biggest @#&*%# Ive ever come across". "A pompous little @#$%*". Really, this is the stuff youre supposed to hear on Jerry Springer, not in an NFL locker room. Put the shoe on the other foot once in a while. It might help you to understand why fans 'whine' so much.
You must be new here. Do you know how many threads there are where people are calling Rivers and Tomlinson names? Heck, people are even calling Rivers names in this thread, which isn't even about him. Maybe I should go start a thread complaining about it?
If nothing else, atleast now youve made an actual comment on something that truly wasnt worth talking about. I think the Rivers thread and LT threads are ridiculous as well, and I dont think I posted a single remark in either of those. But when some dude calls out when of my guys you better know that I'll show up here and go to bat for him., You want to call that whining, that's your opinion. And I'll respect it. Sorry about the loss. Youve got a great team.
Maybe this is the problem. They aren't one of your guys. They play football and you watch and cheer. That's it. They don't care if you go to bat for them and they don't care if you jump off a bridge. He's not calling out your wife. He's talking about a problem he had with someone playing a game. You don't know any more about Seymour than you do about Hardwick. They just wear different uniforms.
Give it a rest.
The truth hurts.

FYI.....Sirius Radio and Adam Shine were also discussing game this pm.

They mentioned that Vrabel "leg whiiped" Rivers on the INT he threw.....a clear foul they thought. I'm just saying........

When you are rushing the QB you do whatever you can to get him down. Could it have been called, YES. Would it have been ticky tacky, YES.

:goodposting:
It was a trip/leg whip, it should have been called, it wasn't.It doesn't mean Vrabel sinisterly plans to leg whip all opposing QBs. It doesn't mean Belichick coaches guys to break the rules. It's not evidence of some "obvious" conspiracy among refs to let the Pats get away with murder. And there's absolutely no reason to think it would have been called "if it was Brady."

Like, sorry guys, really, I know, it's tough to watch a team you don't like win 18 straight. Someday the Pats will lose, and people across America will cheer like the 2nd Death Star just got destroyed. Until then, don't let them drive you to insanity.

I pretty much agree with all of this.

During the game players can call each other every dirty name in the book, mock a guy's wife, mock a dead loved one, say the most despicable things you can imagine; refs couldn't care less. The moment you use a "prop" in an endzone celebration, you get fined for taunting. It's ludicrous, but it shows you what the league cares about; perception. Nobody but the players knows what's said during the game, but everyone across America can see somebody taunting a team with excessive celebrating, so that's where they take action. This thing with Seymour is a rare look at what some players will do before a big playoff game, before the cameras are turned on and, therefore, before the league starts to give a crap. You'll never see anyone try to physically intimidate a coach during the game; I'd agree with people about the egregiousness of what Seymour did if it happened during the game, just because any player would face a fine for doing that during the game. Before the game though, stuff like that is commonplace, and to fault any one guy for doing it, (even if he's a damned dirty New England Patriot), is just obnoxious.

(BTW, if Seymour meant to headbutt him, he would've put him in the hospital).

I have never in all my years of watching professional sports seen a team talk more trash before a game, celebrate too early during the game, and then complain/continue to talk trash to the media after a loss than the San Diego Chargers.

All the talent in the world, just no common sense and/or discipline. That's the hump they can't get over.

I was raised to believe in "scoreboard". Talk all the ##### you want AFTER you win the game.

And for those of you who want to lump all Pats fans into one group, should we lump all Chargers fans into one big, whiney pool too just because of the rants of a few bloggers? Thought not. Try to understand that you are on an anonymous message board arguing with what might be teenagers or iToughguys. Try to take it with a grain of salt. I certainly don't believe all San Diego residents/Chargers fans are like some of the guys that post on this site.

I was raised to believe in sportsmanship and the competitive spirit. At least I can see the NE fan angle now.

NE fan angle? As if no other team or fan talks trash at any point, before, during or after a game. Must be nice in your pollyanna world.Talking is part of the game, but if you do run your mouth, expect it to come back to bite you when you end up on the short end of the stick.

You can go back to your CYO leagues now.

Hey, I'm no tough guy. But I do see the reality. Competitive sports have always included some amount of intimidation of the opponents, and trash talking is a part of it. To call out one team or fanbase about this, and throwing out some sanctimonious "sportsmanship" rant makes you appear to have your head in the sand in your views of how competitive sports have been played for the past 30 years. Some like to run their mouth before the game is played, and they run the risk of getting it thrown up in their face. Personally, I don't have a problem with putting a loudmouth in their place. And "scoreboard" is the best way to do it.
