Good game Giants... I remember back when my Phils were that clutch.

If us Phils fans can take anything away from this its that we had a shot (and good ones) in every game that we lost. I'm not very comfortable relying on "H2O" winning three in a row the way the Giants starting 3 has been pitching. But if the bats woke up a little bit last night, we improve our pitch selection and situational hitting, and a few bounces go our way... we could get back into this thing. Hell, the Flyers came back from 0-3 last year, how hard can 1-3 be?... Right?

I can't believe what I'm seeing. The team aspect of this Giant Squad dwarfs any success during the Bonds era. There are some other elements at work here other than just baseball skills. The energy in the park is crazy. People are going bonkers.
never thought I'd see the stick or city rock more than the Brian Johnson series...but WOW!!!great game
I was at both of those games. I can't imagine it being louder in AT&T than it was at the 'stick after the BJ bomb given the accoustics of each venue. Wish I was still there to make a more informed comparison though. Getting up at 2 to watch the games is killing my productivity at work.

Watching replays from last nite (game 4), the first base ump was horrible last night. Not only did he blow two fair/foul calls, but neither call was his to make.

anybody know where i can stream today's game?
the only links I've seen use Streamtorrent which your IT guys may not like
Thanks. I miss KNBR some days....
I tried listening to KNBR online last night with the game and the online streaming was about 30 seconds behind
The over the air KNBR feed is more than a pitch ahead than the TV broadcast. I think TV delays vary by carrier though. I was talking to my daughter at college during game 3 and she was yelling a good five seconds before the ball was hit here. I'm not a physicist but since I'm only a couple miles away from the ballpark, I don't think the speed of light was the limiting factor.

I listen on MLB At Bat and the KNBR feed is a little slow so I run the slingbox on a delay. Have to tweak it every once in a while to ge ### back in sync.

Eephus>tell the story about how you and John Joseph McGraw used to go out to find "dancing girls" together. :pickle:
There was this one night with McGraw, Turkey Mike Donlin and Fred Merkle. Merkle had just come up to the Giants so it must have been 1907, no make that 1908. We went the McGillicutty's down in the Bowery--they served the best chopped meat sandwiches and they had this colored piano player. Well, we played some Faro, raised a few glasses and told a few lies. You probably remember McGillicutty's was just down the block from Polly's place. Polly always brought in girls from upstate but there was always a lot of rigamarole happening down in the parlor that McGraw couldn't stand. I wish I could tell you about what happened next but it gives a new meaning to "Merkle's Boner" if you know what I mean.

One of the funniest things I've ever found on the internet (probably less funny if you're rooting for Philly, though) a summary of last nights game.

Yes I'm a Phils fan but I don't even get this  WTF is WRONG WITH UTLEY .... HORRIBLE SERIES
 sometimes humor doesn't translate well, I laughed hard at that. Sorry if I wasted your time.
Not wasted I just didn't get it  I have it on mute, what's with the Wilsons?

Was wondering why Halladay was standing there... he could have run... I thought it hit his hand at first.

So why the wilson volleyballs? anyone?

Oh the closer - n/m :bag:

My 1st guess is that is has something to do with the movie Castaway, but I could be wrong.

Terrible umping yet again.
Unlike last night that is a really hard call for the home plate umpire when the catcher pops up in front of him. I'm against replay for anything but home runs and safe or out calls, but why did they not call the crew together on that one? Obviously it was foul, someone may have gotten a better look.

Great throw by Werth! I was just thinking how no one could get Ross out, and then Werth throws him out at 3B. Go figure!

Ouch...never make the first or third out at third base.
Perfect throw. Ross takes the extra base 9 out of 10 times there.
Still not worth it, especially since Werth is known to have one of the better OF throwing arms in baseball.
It's not worth it to take an extra base 9 out of 10 times?
On a fly ball like that it's not nine out of 10. But no, it's not worth it given the variables.

Chollie just let it be known that Doc pitched most of the game with a mild groin strain in his right leg. Explains alot about his performance and why the BP got going early on.

If you bastards ruin my weekend I will not forgive you....

Seriously other than the 6-1 game this could have been 4-1 Giants, 4-1 Phillies - some sloppy but very intense and fun games.

:highhopes:

The way that game was going I had a bad feeling we were going to blow it late.

Madson came up HUGE in the 8th striking out Posey, Burrell, and Ross.

Werth's solo HR over the RF wall in the 9th was almost as big.

Will be interesting to see how Oswalt starts off on Saturday after the odd week for him.
